If YT put the option to have a "as seen on" link ON it would stand to reason that they have the capability of taking it off. Yet we don't have that option as channel moderator??

So I word searched "fair use law" & found the page on this particular doctrine at copyright(dot)gov. Someone using your stuff can be acceptable as "fair use" under the right circumstances, just as you using someone's music in the background. Both are legal if done according to the fair use law. Word search "fair use" & find the same page I read.
i dont think they will shut down social media but the fact that someone has stolen a video is upsetting i really hope they bother to help you in this i havn't posted anything for this reason i just dont want to see my artwork plastered somewhere and ppl claim its theirs i really hope it gets fixed for u and btw happy holidays and i hope u and your foxy family all have a wonderful newyear

Its actually not taken by a site at all... Its in someone play list, it is in Russian, and they are not linking them selves to you at all. Its in their playlist, and they commented on it. That's it. No one stole anything, its still on YouTube, and it was added to someone's play list..Not that big of a deal.
@SoniaIsAwesome By having the "as seen on" link on the video, it implies that we are affiliated with the Russian channel, blog, or whatever it is and that they can post whatever they want to on their blog. It is not censored and we do not wish to be mistaken as being affiliated with that channel in any way. That's the point of this video.

It was some strange foreign site and I didn't like having my worked claimed by that group. I tried contacting YouTube and filing a ticket as well but nothing was done. It came up in January too. Getting in contact with the site owner was pretty useless too because of the language barrier. Sigh. :/

This doesn't mean that they've stolen the video at all. The video featured on this site is your original upload and the YouTube TOS doesn't require them to have permission to post a link to it. Unless they hacked the embed code on a non-embeddable video (if that's even possible), there's nothing they can do.
The "as seen on" feature is a feature on YouTube that allows sites that drive a significant number of views for a video to be credited for promoting the video. It's geared toward blogs.
@Beanie - That would work, yeah. Also, you can maybe make the videos private so only those you can choose can view the video, like those who subscribe.

How it's worded now if a media company doesn't like what you say they can go to the isp and the isp will have the whole site taken down permanently. It's a pretty scary bill you should read it. @SpiritWhiteFox2 well I went and looked at it and it seems to be a list of videos with the descriptions translated into Russian. It is a part of you-tube so it's not linking to some other site. It just seems to be a page promoting videos and channels in Russian.
