@Nelaz6000 that is actually a very uneducated comment as sharks are fishes and killer whales belong to the family of mammals. Killer whales are very dominate predators and kill whales as well as sea lions and have been seen killing and eating sharks for their livers.
@Nelaz6000 Please, read before you make such an stupid statement. Killer whales are mammals, actually the biggest dolphins that exist, not sharks, that are actually fish.......
This really made me smile, They cared for it and saved it, putting it back in its natural Habitat. Excellent. But gotta say it really made me chuckle when they went speeding round the corner and then down a main road with a Whale on the back of a towing platform haha
They were pessimistic for a while on how she would do on her own. Has anyone heard any follow up on her? Has she like..gotten in contact with any pods or what? :P
by it's size you can tell it's a baby, thanks God they saved him but, if he's a baby, they should've found his family before releasing him, or he might have died... (sorry if my english is wrong, I don't speak very well..)
All dolphins kill living things, if by living things you mean fish. Humans also kill a hell of a lot of things. These guys are trying to save something instead. What's wrong with that?
Actually, Orcas are known as "Killer Whales" because they are, infact, the top predetor of the ocean. They will kill other mammals just as quickly as they will kill just fish. I suggest you do some research before you start bashing people and you're the one who is actually wrong.
Actually, the name "Killer Whale" only applies to transients, mammal hunting orcas. The name was given to them because fishermen wittnessed transients killing whales. They were not given the name because they are the top predator in the ocean. Anyway. But back then, no one knew there were three different species of orca: Transients(mammal hunting), Residents(fish eating only), and Offshores. The Offshores were discovered in the early 90s so, not much is known about them.
@amberharmon0130 And actually, killer whales have very strict cultures, so an orca that eats mammals won't eat fish (unless it's staring) and vice versa. Even more, killer whales are called that way because of a translation mistake. They were originally called 'whale killer' after a sailor saw orcas eat from a whale carcass. When the name was translated into English, the words were swapped around. Maybe you should do some research too ;)
@amberharmon0130 actually that is not strictly true... resident orcas eat fish and sqid only while transient whales eat marine mammels. So not all killer whales are well killers they got the name for their play habits because even though some whales don't eat them some still play with them in a fairly barbaric way

What about her pod? She was only three. There's no way she could have survived without them.

apparently killer whales are called killer whales because they "Kill Whales" and "Orca" means "wolves of the sea" or something like that...
