Ross Barbour, the last original member of the Four Freshmen, died in Southern California at 82 on August 23, 2011. Barbour's death comes three months after the death of another founding member, his cousin, Bob Flanigan. The two other founding members were Barbour's brother, Don Barbour, and Hal Kratzsch.
I love this! I actually know Bill Comstock. He retired here in San Antonio and I once performed a fundraising show when he donated some of his Four Freshmen memorabilia to our local Hard Rock Cafe. He is a fine man and wonderful musician. He was very encouraging to me during my first years as a professional singer here. Sadly, he recently lost his wife, Sue. She had been ill for a long time. What a wonderful video you've shared here. Thank you! -- Ken Slavin, San Antonio, Texas
I am 13 and this is the kind of stuff that I prefer to listen to. The music today takes no more talent than it does to open a jar.this is genuine talent.
In the '70s I saw the Freshman w/ Kenton on TV performing this song. Somewhere I have a recording made as I held my portable cassette recorder up to the TV speaker. Thanks for posting this. It has brought me much joy!
I think Flanigan was, besides a great tenor, an underrated trombonist. I love his solos.

RIP, Bob Flanigan (August 22, 1926 - May 15, 2011). A real golden throat.

Terrific harmony blend. So upbeat, cool and of course timeless. Suddenly I want to cha-cha or samba maybe. Beautiful post.

@CAAJDJ Google "The Four Freshmen Society" and you'll be happy to find that this music is still alive and kickin'.

@CAAJDJ . It has disappeared because of the immature "yoof" fools and freeks at such places as the BBC.
All they know is awful Brit pop trash and that is all they broadcast.
The BBC have just been taken to court because they fired a woman who was over 50 years old. The judge found in the woman's favour. Good for him.
