  • @delphidae1 I don't know, but I'm thinking about listening to "Aqualung" after this song, because of your comment.

  • @Slumpnasty cool - i've actually got that cd LOL

  • @delphidae1 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • I'm thinking about visiting southeast Asia, maybe Vietnam or Myanmar if they loosen-up their travel restrictions. Then again, I pretty much like going anywhere with loose women.

  • @Slumpnasty I AM RETIRED NAVY I MADE PORT VISITS TO PHUKET THAILAND IT IS A UNIQUE PLACE IT IS AN ADULT DISNEY LAND.

  • @roscoe496 Thanks for the tip. I'm heading-out there as soon as I save enough money. Also, I spent 6 years in the Army, and I regret not staying in.

  • @roscoe496 lol, Mrs. Computer Hacker/Youtube Troll. I bet you wonder, "How does he do it!?" If you continue to lick my balls, I will allow you that privilege.

  • @roscoe496 I am a genius, and you're also a genius, but you're definitely the bitch in this relationship.

  • @roscoe496 If someone is a butt-head, then beating their dum ass in a game of wits like chess, is basically like kicking their ass. lol

  • Whaddya mean? You've seen one crowded, polluted, stinking town....

Can't tell you how true that line is.

  • Ahhh the hangover two <3

  • headin out to the bar and then the massage parlour.

  • READ THE MESSAGE IN MY PROFILE...

  • @livebetter2 no

  • Where's the Dislike button? I can't find it.

  • I loved it when Mike Tyson came out and sang this in The Hangover 2. So great to see a big ass ex fighter dancing and singing to Murray Head ahahaha

  • I get my kicks ABOVE the waistline, Sunshine.

  • 1:35 BEST PART !!!!!!

  • stupenda canzone degli anni 80.

  • :)

  • Why was I born 30 years late!

  • If you haven't spent one {single) night in Bangkok, then you haven't lived. I love the place. Absolute beauty sits right next to pure squalor. This historic Kingdom offers so much on every side of the cultural spectrum. Just do it, kids x ...

  • one night in Bangkok is never enough... greatest city on Earth.

  • @moonboots69 word, I spent three weeks there and a week in Cambodia seeing Angkor Wat. What I wouldn't do for some of that delicious fruit right NOW! I left 2 am Christman Morning, when I got back to Texas everyone thought I had died. Then they told me Thailand got hit by a tsunami. Almost extended my trip to see Ko Phuket. 6 months later went to New Orleans and a few days later Katrina hit them.

  • @moonboots69 - ya ok

  • Ive been to thailand and everything is true in the song, kinda funny....

  • HQ audio. LOOOOOL

  • An interesting and funny song.

  • Benny and Bjorn from abba wrote this song !

  • dope

  • Thats because most of the music writen rmikeyp73

  • fantastic! what memories :)

  • First Off, This is a GREAT Song ... but for the first time ever I noticed an appaling mistake in the video. At The Very Beginning, they build that graphic of the Chessboard out of the white squares, but they wind up with the white square on the LEFT Hand Corner of the Board. Any Chessplayer in the world will tell ya that the white squares go to the right. :)

  • @neilyoungwrotemylife Queen honor colour! I can only beat the computer on "easy"...I routinely get Humbled if play at a higher level.

  • Love this version of the song.

  • "One Night in Bangkok" is the title of a song originally sung by the British actor and pop-dance singer Murray Head on the 1984 concept album for the musical Chess. Its music was composed by former ABBA members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, with lyrics written by Tim Rice & Björn Ulvaeus.

  • I am living since 1989 in Bangkok. For me is this a very special song!

  • omg. somebody breakout the aqua net, i'm having an 80s moment. lol lol

  • what beat is this in before the singing?? its great!!!!

  • I'm an arrogant person, and I've been humbled. Now I feel much better.

  • One of the best Raps of the 80s.

  • Sounds like Bea Arthur talking.

  • @aliceb74 OMG! After thinking about it, your totally right! LOL!

  • @transammike Especially when he says "I get my kicks ABOVE the waistline, Sunshine"...(Still LMAO)

  • @aliceb74 LMAOOOOOOOO...now you KNOW you're wrong for that!

  • @aliceb74 HAHAHA... I was in my 20's when this song came out. But yes, it does sound just like Bea Arthur. :)

  • @aliceb74

    OMG totally

  • @aliceb74 Oh NO!!! LOL!!! I have heard this song literally hundreds of times and never thought that. Now that's all I'm going to notice! HAHAHA I even picture her!

  • @aliceb74

basically, white man's form of rap at the time - I LOVE THIS SONG !!!

  • I love this song and era of music!

  • If over half the so called artist out here today were going through the 80's they would have NEVER made it. Back then in order to make it you had to have 1 of 2 things. You either had to know how to sing or been able to play an instrument. It takes neither in todays so called music...

  • @FireitupBedford Not true. There were quite a few songs here and there in the 80s which were cheeZy or worse. Or not that bad, but say, Madonna. Not a GOOD singer and played no instruments. MJ. He could sing but nothing special and he played no instruments. Or did u mean ONLY Pop-Rock/Pop-New Wave?

  • @FireitupBedford You forgot #3: coke.

  • What's was always so dope about this song is that the Music is so "Jammin" but the lyrics in the verses are "Spoken Word"...and it is indeed Very poetic!

  • Gives me goosebumps and it's a warm day here :)

  • I love the dance moves on the giant chessboard at the end

  • BANGKOK 2012 , here we come AGAIN

  • This makes me want to watch Hangover 2...

  • The video is so 80s but the song is rather timeless with great chord changes and interesting, provocative lyrics.

  • I can feel the Devil walking next to me.

  • I would let you watch, but the queens we use would not excite you

  • Man who walk through airport turnstile sideways going to Bangkok.

  • The chorus to this song played in my head for 4 days when I was in Bangkok last spring.

"One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster!" - I kept thinking perhaps a setan oyster with some hijiki as I'm vegan.

  • @veganjohn dude nobody likes vegans and nobody likes when they speak about veganity

  • Comment removed

  • In Bangkok, the words "And if you're lucky then the god's a she" are the truest words ever spoken. It can be very hard to tell the difference sometimes

  • the melody of this asong is absolutely hypnotic and fast paced and infectios to listen to one you hear and your mood is fully engaged upward.. love it!!!!!

  • I am a child of the 80's....the best for music!!!!!!

  • @cellagp321 You're beyond forgiveness, but I still love you.

  • @cellagp321 yeah you and Opie.

  • @cellagp321 me too.. always the best music..

  • You might be dead if you don't like this song.

  • You listen to One Night in Bangkok because it is One Night in Bangkok. Not because of Hangover 2.

You go visit to Bangkok because it is Bangkok. Not because of Hangover 2.

    :-)

  • @bretthejet60 First I remember is about 79. rappers delight, and rapture by blondie.

  • Peter Gabriel's "Shock the Monkey" should also have been used in Hangover Part I & II....an awesome soundtrack always boosts sales and introduces "youth" to some real genuine, creative material from not so long ago to "rock out" dureing whatever activity they may be into. ;)

  • Now THAT'S a fucking intro.

  • i get my kicks above the waistline sunshine.! :)

  • Expat in Bangkok and the world's my oyster!

  • I heard this song for the first time a couple days ago on the radio. I'll probably listen to it about 100 times in a row, before I move on to the next cool song from days long gone.

  • @Slumpnasty Thats my life. :D

  • @Slumpnasty You have good taste in music!!

  • @Slumpnasty If you like the song you should really try a listen to the CD it came from. It's called "Chess," and it's based on a broadway play. It's incredible all the way through.

  • @billyjimbob007 although the broadway version only lasted 3 months where as westend lasted 3 and half years

  • @Slumpnasty ...not that long gone, as that would mean im old ;-)

  • Mike Tysons version is much better *blink*

  • Bangkok will not only make the hard man humble, it will also make the humble man hard.

  • luv dis song xd

  • mas oyama

  • burt reynolds

  • Asian man going thru airport turnstile will Bang Kok.....

  • this song is interesting but can anyone tell me what its about chess, bangkok, osters, gods? whats the connection

  • @Kjazz13 thaat's the point, friend! THERE ARE NO CONNECTIONS! Just a multitude of (totally different) experiences that can be had in one single night!!! And that's loads of fun, trust me! Been there, done that!;)

  • @Kjazz13 This is a song from the musical Chess, written by Bjorn & Benny from ABBA,with Tim Rice. This song is about a chess champion who is in Bangkok for a chess championship, and his thoughts about Bangkok. He is not interested in anything the city has to offer,he's just interested in playing Chess.

  • @Kjazz13 This song is from the musical "Chess". They released the concept album in part to raise funds for the original stage production. "Chess" refers to the game, and the way Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky were used as human pawns in the Cold War era.

This song sort of demonstrates the intellectual arrogance of chess Grand Masters, and how everything, including religion, culture, traditions, etc., is beneath their concern.

  • 1:35 Samwell?? Hahahahaha

  • This song makes more sense if you know the context.

It's from a musical called 'Chess' by Bjorn and Benny from ABBA. It's about the Soviet and American Chess players at a world tournament in Bangkok. Elaine Paige's 'My heart will go on' is from it as well. It's not very well know, but my mother was such an ABBA fanatic she went to see it and has the soundtrack with this song on it.

  • I like the Part between 0:00 and 3:56 =)

  • Love this song...yeah boi

  • tHIS VIDEO IS ABOUT A GUY WHO WANTS TO PLAY CHESS OVER SEEING THE CITY

  • @thyczko2 damn skippy

  • 240p HQ? are you joking?

  • @od8086 it says audio not vid stop your bitching

  • @kervin1693 Youtube lowers the quality of AUDIO tracks when the video is low resolution. If this were to be heard in a quality similar to CD, the video would need to be playing at over 420p. Below that, the audio is compressed and the bitrate reduced. This is fact.

  • @kervin1693 oh yeah. here on the Youtube, there is a direct relationship between the vid and the audio quality. so, clean your ears, and try to hear the difference between 240p, 360p, 480p etc.

  • The Big Bang Theory brought me here.

  • @FunkyWhitePimp What episode was this in BBT?

  • @JukeboxSuperHero Season 3 Episode 14 "The Einstein Approximation" .

Raj & Howard are at a roller disco.

  • She shouldn't be looking so smug...White has Qxf7 checkmate right there, on move 4!

  • this music video is basically a guy who is a christian

that had an orgy with asian women every day

then made a music video to convince his wife he didn't cheat

    EL OH EL

admit it, you got it on with those grasshopper gens

  • I wonder how many people are aware of the ABBA connection?

  • The real O.G. White Boy of Rap!

  • you are worse then hitler if you don't like this song.
