wtf man, arnie was a good guy who loves his car.a lot ,and then a bunch of idiots started to hate on christine.this is shit, but anyway i saw metal moving......christine it's alive
I absolutely love this finale. Nothing could symbolize the life force behind this car better than using "Rock N' Roll Is Here to Stay" as Christine's death cry.
@dskjhgr Well just think about it... You could either look up the lyrics and find the song in under a minute or you could ask what the song is and wait forever for a reply (if any). Just trying to help. :)
@DevastationFilms sorry i just wanted to know what it is thats it, and what you said Is it really that hard to just look up the lyrics on Google, sounded like im doing it on purpose or just playing dumb
i heard during a documentary on this movie, that this car was run over by the bulldozer 18 times, and afterwords, the engine still started up and ran like an s.o.b. that's plymouth motors for ya. they don't make 'em like that anymore.
simply loved it !!!!!!!! I thought I would never see this film, but thanks to your good taste can review this wonder that to will always live in our hearts ... thank you and congratulations !!!!!! !!!!!!!!!
we had a black/white one (or better: my father had). and i was proud how the classmate looked, when we drove around. when the oil shock came, we had to sell it. too big, too expensive, too thirsty. now, today, i think we would have a piece of jewelry. it was in the 70s, when everything which was more than 10 yeras old was an antique, worth to replace it.
Just wait in 2011 theyre making a remake in fucking 3D, Oh goody thatll be shit well done why not try even harder to ruin this films good name! Half of all films now are remakes all the talent and origonality has gone!
@samj5664 true! funny thing is i was just having a conversion tonight about how hollywood continues to fail miserably at a sequel to predator. My theory.............. if Arnold can barely beat 1, well im sure that's statement is self-explanatory
Aw Christ, it kills me to see her crushed like that :( I had the pleasure of seeing one of the cars they used for the film in real life at last year's scream fest. Absolutely beautiful.
@EdieNippoli LOL, they did the same with a series of Dodge Challenger vehicles from Vanishing Point ('71). But yeah I agree a perfectly good possessed car. I'm surprised we never saw a Christine 2 out of this.
the best bit is just the twich of the metal is that the crushers work as it unfolds or is it christine comming back, just an idea like they did with disney cars why not have special geast christne?
excellent movie, thanks for uploading it i finished watching it and it has better quality than when i saw it years ago lol gotta get it on bluray ( if there is on it)
in fact christine is a beautifull car, pretty dangerous though as every used car you might buy lol
The best part of the book, which they could have included in the movie ,is Dennis riding in the car with Arnie, and the car takes them back to the 50s. And all the people the car killed over the years appear in the back seat for awhile.
@noslack1964 I would have loved to see this in theaters. The 70's and 80's were a brilliant and groundbreaking time for horror films. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday The 13th, Nightmare On Elm Street and many more. Definitely was the golden era of horror films.
Pretty good movie.. A few things I don't understand though. Like if the meter runs backward, how did Roland first get the car with 16 on it? And why didn't Christine repair herself when she was sitting in George's yard? But oh well, still good. I wish they'd remake it though to stick the the original plot a bit more :/
@LoveAtTwilight ok in the book christine wasnt possed till lebays daughter died in her an then the wife which there tormented souls together made christine who she is, the meter runs backwards so she can regenerate herself. Like when you buy a newcar with 0 miles on it, it runs like a dream. Christine had to stay that way, course lebay got old an stopped caring for chrisstinefor 10yrs straight (back condition) and he sold the car to arnie
@RoberTastic She did! Ish. If you read the book, there's this little 'outtro' (can't remember name. Exit prequel?) Which tells you that Leigh and Dude split up and move to opposite ends of the country, and He hears of these mysterious killings that are exactly like everyone's here, and the sites are slowly making their way towards...HER!
She is fucking unkillable, the only way to kill her would either to take apart all the parts and hide them on all 7 different continents each a thousand mile apart, or to melt her like they did with the terminator
@szombies hehe.... Then just like take apart the engine, and shoot it with a ray gun, and then melt it apart, and put it in in a force field box, and if she moves after a year, just like throw a nuke at it, and send it to the moon, and since gasoline engines require oxygen, she'l just choke to death
in the book, Christine, surprise, repairs and kills Dennis in the epilogue after 4 years. they should of obliterated the cube while they had the chance.
@Shadowcretin why not just let Arnie have his gem and be done? i don't understand why they did not leave well enough be. i mean the car would not kill anyone unless they deserved it, no?
@80stvfan09 Because Arnie was turning psycho and he was becoming a threat to himself. His friends tried to save him, but love is ALOT stronger than friendship, which is why Arnie made a few sly threats toward Dennis.
@yohsukenakano Except for flicks about video games like Tron and Nightmares, cgi was very minimal. Took this quote from a site: "...This was achieved by the FX crew placing hydraulic pumps all around the car, under the body panels, and then causing it to compress and crush. Then, the footage was played back in reverse to give the illusion that the car was reforming."
they destroyed all the cars in there. 25 cars were used to make that movie. too bad to see such a beautiful car get destroyed. But they made a hell of a movie :)
Actually, correction. They only bought 23 and of those 23 only 16 were used for filming. The rest were used for spare parts. But you are right, still a shame to know so many were trashed. But all in all, an excellent film.
@JoJaDaCo before the movie, everyone had forgotten about the plymouth fury. the sacrifice of the ones used in Christine saved the rest from destruction.
First time I watched this, alone and perhaps a little heady with marijuana, that final showdown quite literally gave me a panic attack.
The conviction that the car was indestructable, together with the realization that the menace was un-namable, topped of by the inappropriately cheerful tune... all these elements combined gave my nerves a right old jangling despite being a hardened horror movie buff. Damn you, John Carpenter!
@cottonwhiskersuk This may be a late response, but the song is very appropriate. The only way Christine can communicate is through old 50's songs, and "Rock n roll is here to stay" is her way of telling Dennis and Leigh that they can't kill her and she'll be around forever. Just like it was singing "Little bitty pretty one" to Moochie because she intended to smash him into "little bitty" pieces.
@Afro70s i actually am in christine's side, and i want her to kill them all... what does scare me in reality is how many beautiful belvederes were destroyed to make such a film. its my 2nd favourite one, but still makes me sad to think of those belvederes that werte destroyed.
@TraustiGeir yeah... the problem is they do a remake with overdone special effects, destroying all the plot you see in this film and with a car that isnt a plymouth fury... like they did with 60 seconds. they ruined the original mach 1 eleanor's fame to give birth to that tuned mustang with a horribly ugly front that ended up burrying the mach 1's fame.
Her grill moving at the end is Christine's way of saying,"I'll be back!" Or,"I'm not finished with you yet" Or,"I'm not as dead as you think!" Who knows what goes through a crazy bitches mind!
The point with Christine and his current owner(Arnie or the previous)is that she needs that living persons love and hatedredd to be able to cause bad things. She kind spells the owner with her "un-dying" love. But if the person is dead, there´s no use for Christine.Like a woman, always looking new victim ;)
wtf man, arnie was a good guy who loves his car.a lot ,and then a bunch of idiots started to hate on christine.this is shit, but anyway i saw metal moving......christine it's alive

But if the person is dead, there´s no use for Christine.Like a woman, always looking new victim ;)

the only way they can keep her from comming back is if they plant a tank or something that weighs tons on her....

How about cutting her to many pieces and then ship them to different parts of the world.
