Have any of you wondered why they do this? bassetts do this too because their ears are hurting them. You have to buy eardrops. It's not a "hound thing". Buy them the drops to keep their ears clean

Our two bassets do the same thing -- I think they're just stretching those long backs. It's usually followed by the head-to-tail wriggle, starting with a vigorous ear flap! It's sort of like how people yawn and stretch and scratch when they wake up from sleeping, I guess.
