im so glad they are doing a u.s tour ..i saw em in houston texas 2 nights ago same set list as he said earlier a tad different no dead boys poem.meadows of heaven instead.. but with way more heart...no dissapointment what so ever...by any chance does anyone know the name of the ballad they are doing in the purple light on these newer shows thats just her with the keyboard and the drums..it sent chills....and i dont know by heart all the pre passion play album songs....thanx

This is taken from her blog: "I really dont know my range anymore since its been so long since we checked it. But I am a soprano and if I would use the classical singing more I would be lyrical I think. I have a very wide range and can use both very low notes and high notes. In my belting I can come very high up and in the head voice I am working on it to get higher."

I have also assumed she was one, too. A lirico leggiero one, to be more exact. :)

@Felinestance I think the classifications of modern singing depend a lot on what music is sung to. While Jazz uses more head voice than Rock and Pop, and Metal adds growls to the repertoire, the difference between Rock and Pop often just lies in whether you're singing in a Rock band or a Pop group.

Also, as far as I have been taught about ranges, whether classical or modern, Anette's range is mezzosoprano these days.

their desperately clinging to anything they can use to disparage Anette only because she replaced their idol. I got nothing against their love for Tarja but really they would be going against ANYONE who replaced her,even a clone who sang 100% just like her, this songs only shows one thing by their suspect lack of comments, they have truly run out of things to use against her, I see even Tarja die hards on here admitting this is as good or better than her version...the tide is turned

Great show, a lot of energy, really going all out for this last tour. You shouldn't be disappointed.

they don't appear to have taken anything valuable, but the window will be a few hundred dollars. Could've been worse.

And yes, by last tour I meant before they start the new album. Hopefully it's a good one. Now that they know exactly what they're working with for a vocalist, it may work out better than DPP did, though DPP was definitely an amazing album.

I was there, standing, in the sixth row or so and I was singing along with this song, almost cursing a friend for even asking if this was GLS, while she's longer a fan than I am! Anette was brilliant, although it's bad the choir isn't really good to hear... well.. from the band which is obviously playing along... Oh well <3 Anette kicks ass anyway!

It's fine for me tarja is gone. In the beginning it was hard but yea. Look tarja did lots of things wrong, flying in another plane with her husband and she only sing for the money. So i dont like her anymore. Nightwish did a great job to take a new singer called the Swedish god Anette. So i have to say goodbye now.

But dont cry anymore tarja is gone. she walks alone now and Nightwish goes further. With or without Tarja. Tarja is just a nice memory. She always stays in my mind. Love ya al
