The montage community and quickscoping is the only reason i play first person shooters so yes, im for it. Also everyone is talking about realism, dont forget that this is a GAME if you want realism join the military, im going in to the military (Air Force) for some of that reason and also I just want to serve my country, but when I get home I would want to play something completly UNrealistic.

Quick scoping is not the problem. The problem is the rate of fire of the snpier rifles. A one shoot kill rifle should have a slow rate of fire. If the rifle allows the player to spam bullets, then the rilfe should not be one shoot. For those that argue that a sniper should just pull out his pistol for close range combat, I argue back "why don't you pull out your pistol?" I will only pull out my pistol when I am out of ammo, a last resort. I will not handicap myself further so you can kill me

I am pretty sure you can do it in real life if you have had years of training + a lightweight firearm. I agree that barret 50. cal is impossible to handle with that kind of agility.
well i quick scope. I have been doing it since mw 1 when it first came out. I am pretty sure anyone who likes to quick scope and can use it properly, have already mastered standard sniping. It is easy to quick scope in bfbc. Actually easier then the cod series. I say if ppl can manage it, let them. The worst thing you can do is to put a "skill block" into the game. Like Treyarch did with Black ops. And i guarantee that i can snipe normally as well. quick scope is not bug abuse it's skill.
I hate how people want to make BF another kind of CoD... BF is more realistic and CoD is an arcade game... So if they want to make BF3 realistic, they just can't put quick scope...
@Jim9415 You also cant use a real pistol effectevly over 50m, yet u can basicly snipe (no bullet drop, no sway) with it in games. They should keep Bad Company 2 sniping machanics, maybe add an extra half a second when scoping in. Or remove quickscoping but also add bullet drop and distance power decreese to all weapons.
From the marketing point of view: CoD is the top selling game. Ofc they are adopting some features from it.
I dont mind seeing some one who plays aggressive with recon kit. But I dont want a full squad or 2 trying to pull quick scope and fail and thus makeing the whole team lose. I play battlefield to PTFO. I also dont want to have a hole team sitting on the side of a hill takeing pot shots at some one from a distance. I dont have a problem with the guy who sits back and can get work done and spot and help their squad out.

@iReCoMeNDSU1CiDE your right and your wrong, they dont help the objective of the game directly, but rather they help teammates advance in the field, also picking off enemies trying to run for the objective and disarm, i get you point about getting bored and people hating them, but in a way the contribute greatly to the objective
quickscoping isn't an issue in bfbc2 because of bullet drop, leading targets. and the fact that it is 2 body shots at range.
I think they nailed sniping right on the head in bfbc2. The only thing that would be nice is if the different bolt actions weren't just reskins with different reload times.
Since DICE was saying that they want to get the Snipers off of "Wookie-mountain", removing quick scope would be spitting in their own bowl. I believe that it should be implemented, since that's the only way you can be effective by not staying on a mountain. Yes, long range Sniping takes skill, so does quick scoping.
While not realistic, it definitely is not easy, especially in a game like Battlefield 3, where you die even faster than in BC2, it takes skill and has a risk factor to it.
I really think it would be more awesome and realistic if the magnified scope attachments are only zoomed in on the inside of the scope and not outside it's 'Circle', Lens (or whatever it's called), Like it would it real life.
I say keep sniping how it is. At its current standing, bc2 sniping is pretty well balanced. The zoom in is fast enough to not be cumbersome, but slow enough so that it's a real challenge to quickscope with, especially on 12x zoom. And if you take out quickscoping, what would you do about shotguns with slugs, eh?
Battlefield 3 is supposed to be REALISTIC not like COD you dont "quickscope" people in real life. you get a nice advantage point and take your shots for a good reason (high valued target) if you tried to "quickscope" in a real war you would be shot in the chest, mabye head by a assualt rifle or MG

quickscoping wont be in bf3, if your worried about getting closer to the action, they are coming out with flash compensators so snipers can stay closer

i juss finished playing a game of rush in isla innocentes on bfbc2 like 20 min ago and i Qs the whole defending team on the first island and it felt good and it is not easy when i started playing bc2 i was worse then shit in sniping but i can honestly say your not a master sniper untill you can quick scope and hard scope :P
i have just started playin battlefield and now i am quite angry that i didnt start earlier i have cancelled my mw3 pre order or battlefield 3 i love sniping in bfbd2 it so much more realistic then cod so i am hoping that there is no quickscoping in bf3 i use to quick scope in mw2 and now i prefer helping out my squad at a distance and as well getting in close by hiding in a building or something

for all those who think that staying static in a positon on a hill or vantage point is camping, your dead wrong. sniping takes skill. at long ranges in bfbc2, you have to be a pro. you have to range the target and account for bullet drop, you have to decide on how fast their moving and adjust for that. then you have to stay on target and shoot. all in a matter of seconds. camping and sniping are different. sitting with a shotgun in a small room next to the door, waiting for a person is camping

I was camouflaged in some bushes ( i was attacking ) in the area on the side of the main sniping spot in the first bases we had to destroy in the little island. Down in the road there are smaller hills or bumps in between the road, island and river. Then I saw a guy very far away in the hill in front of the last bases so I aimed at him and shot. It took about 2 seconds for bullet to hit his...
@krackerjacx .... head. I got two headshots from a mile away. An enemy respawned after I shot but just before the bullet hit him. Then later I got a headshot when I sniped the enemy gunner in the Hind. :D

@krackerjacx I played BF1942, 'Nam and BF2. I played COD4 and Black Ops & WaW too but BF was always my main game so I know my shit. And nothing more I hate more than "Xx1337SNIP3RGH0STWARR10RxX"s camping on a hill while they're team is losing badly needs more useful ground players. There is no place for snipers in BF in most cases.

If you really hit your targets, take out enemy snipers cover the objective and spot... just stay back i don't care...

When quickscoping encourages a wookie to run with me when he is needed then i don't see the problems of quickscoping... as much as i can see from the BF3 footages, even a support guy can mount a scope on his MG and shoot at the distance... so why should the sniper not have an opportunity to be effective on close range?
Maybe making it more difficult in BF3 (in BC2 it's kind of too easy) by reducing OHK distance or smthng like that to prevent abuse...
@krackerjacx Recon hate is not about players' skill, but the fact that they help their team so little. Even the best bushmonster gets at most 1 kill every 2 minutes, and is almost helpless at close range, especially with the 12x scope they so love.

@krackerjacx Dude, I play recon aggressively, and I understand how the kit works. The class is meant to throw its motion sensors to show enemy players, mines, etc and help the team. I'm absolutely sure your team would rather have you up in the action, throwing motion sensors, quickscoping, and kicking ass than have you sitting on a hill, getting knifed, and then teabagged.

if they get spotted, well, they're very easy to take down with anti snipers or machine guns or bombs. all classes have their advantages and disadvantages. these is what makes the game exciting. snipers may have very accurate powerful weapons, but theyre almost useless close range. now if ur gonna make them great at close range with quick scopes and no scopes, then its not fair.
I don't want quickscoping in bf 3, because it can be really frustrating when you get quickscoped. It might be a good idea for the snipers who want to play aggressive to put more sniper rifles like the SVV or the SVU in the game and then they can put a red dot on it. That sniper rifles are more for playing aggresive, and not the M95.
The whole purposeof the motion sensor is to tell if someone is coming up on you, and you can take a good position and just have your way wiith people. I dont want a bunch of call of dutys with different names. i want a separation of games, and sniping is one things that made battlefield famous. Also the battlefield pace wold be destroyed with that. and quick scoping would destroy the beautiful balancing that battlefield has would be destroyed. And bf sniping is actually sniping. Think

I really dont care if somone is quickscoping, because it is almost the same as using a shotgun. Its like being a recon with a shotgun. My personal best kit is the VSS Sniperyaska special, with a red dot :D because I love knowing where my enemy is and I love being up close and personal. Its rate of fire is astonishing and is akin to the pp2000 except with 5x the range. The gun firing from the hip is also amazing and great for clearing out rooms. And I'm in the shit, so Im helping my team :)

Firstly, we don't know how class loadouts will work in BF3. BF2142 had a good system where you had to switch your Sniper rifle for an Carbine, and that worked perfectly well as you still had your other recon abilities. I personally don't want SNIPERS up and close, I want them to be far away, spot and take shots at everyone else. I want it to be the way it was, 2 shots to the body 1 to the head. The close range recon load-out is what you'll need in order to get close.

Quick-scoping in games, in my eyes, is the equivalent to the iron sights mounted on most mil-spec scopes to allow a sniper to use his rifle at close range. And quick-scoping isn't really a problem in games like COD where it was just a small elite community that could pull it off before they were dropped by a FAMAS or TAR. But a lot of attention is drawn to it because of all the try hards quick-scope.

quick scoping is fun and enjoyable however you do often run in to trouble with people who mod their game console with an aim bot and then it sucks for everyone else because people just one shot people no matter what.
The thing is, children compensated for not being able to no-scope in Call of Duty by quick-scoping. You aren't supposed to quick-scope in a game you can no-scope.
I like the way snipers like the m24 are in Bad Company 2 I hate quick scoping in battlefiled at far range, I think it's just stupid. I dont mind getting a quick snipe of close range. I camp in BFBC2 but only in certain locations, but i do move to other locations and stay reletivly close to the action and use my motion sensors on objectives and near my allies to help them find the enemy. but i dont quickscope.....dont even know how lol

There already is quickscoping in battlefield i dont know what people are saying that they dont ever want to see it i run around with the reg scope and magnum and quickscope all day. And i do it successfully its just a million times more difficult than cod quickscoping.
I think that the mechanics for sniping in bbc2 are fine. The way the bullet drops ruins most bush wookies and unless your at a very close range its not a one shot unless its a head shot. I personally love how the bullet goes straight when no scoping and I think it should stay like that, I rarely have problems with any ppl sniping and if you dont stand in one spot for to long you will almost never die from sniping
quickscoping has it's pros and cons, I believe you shouldn't use it as a complete game style, I believe that you should use it if you are in trouble at mid to close range. That being said, if you give the community an inch, they will take a yard. But it doesn't really affect me as long as the maps in Battlefield 3 are as large as BFBC2 because i hardscope the shit out of people across the map and I love every minute of it.
@blooddef i play BFBC2 and i dont go making montages about me quickscoping but i do noscope or quickscope when the enemy is like 5 foot away from me lol i cant do anything else:D

I am against quick scoping and I'm glad that DICE have done the following:
1) More realistic bullet drop (i.e. more bullet drop than bfbc2).
2) Within close combat range (so far an unknown range) snipers deal 75% damage to reduce QS or the feeling of QS.
Reasons against
QS isn't a real life possibility, especially in real war. There is WAY to much recoil and pressure from the gun. BF3 is about realism.
QS is a very cheap way for kills. The HIGH power and accuracy at close range just isn't fair.

well i quick scope. I have been doing it since mw 1 when it first came out. I am pretty sure anyone who likes to quick scope and can use it properly, have already mastered standard sniping. It is easy to quick scope in bfbc. Actually easier then the cod series. I say if ppl can manage it, let them. The worst thing you can do is to put a "skill block" into the game. Like Treyarch did with Black ops. And i guarantee that i can snipe normally as well. quick scope is not bug abuse it's skill.

I dont mind seeing some one who plays aggressive with recon kit. But I dont want a full squad or 2 trying to pull quick scope and fail and thus makeing the whole team lose. I play battlefield to PTFO. I also dont want to have a hole team sitting on the side of a hill takeing pot shots at some one from a distance. quickscoping isn't an issue in bfbc2 because of bullet drop, leading targets. and the fact that it is 2 body shots at range.
I think they nailed sniping right on the head in bfbc2. The only thing that would be nice is if the different bolt actions weren't just reskins with different reload times.

Since DICE was saying that they want to get the Snipers off of "Wookie-mountain", removing quick scope would be spitting in their own bowl. I believe that it should be implemented, since that's the only way you can be effective by not staying on a mountain. Yes, long range Sniping takes skill, so does quick scoping.
While not realistic, it definitely is not easy, especially in a game like Battlefield 3, where you die even faster than in BC2, it takes skill and has a risk factor to it.

I say keep sniping how it is. At its current standing, bc2 sniping is pretty well balanced. The zoom in is fast enough to not be cumbersome, but slow enough so that it's a real challenge to quickscope with, especially on 12x zoom. And if you take out quickscoping, what would you do about shotguns with slugs, eh?

for all those who think that staying static in a positon on a hill or vantage point is camping, your dead wrong. sniping takes skill. at long ranges in bfbc2, you have to be a pro. you have to range the target and account for bullet drop, you have to decide on how fast their moving and adjust for that. then you have to stay on target and shoot. all in a matter of seconds. camping and sniping are different. sitting with a shotgun in a small room next to the door, waiting for a person is camping

When quickscoping encourages a wookie to run with me when he is needed then i don't see the problems of quickscoping... as much as i can see from the BF3 footages, even a support guy can mount a scope on his MG and shoot at the distance... so why should the sniper not have an opportunity to be effective on close range?
Maybe making it more difficult in BF3 (in BC2 it's kind of too easy) by reducing OHK distance or smthng like that to prevent abuse...

I don't want quickscoping in bf 3, because it can be really frustrating when you get quickscoped. It might be a good idea for the snipers who want to play aggressive to put more sniper rifles like the SVV or the SVU in the game and then they can put a red dot on it. That sniper rifles are more for playing aggresive, and not the M95.

The whole purposeof the motion sensor is to tell if someone is coming up on you, and you can take a good position and just have your way wiith people. I really dont care if somone is quickscoping, because it is almost the same as using a shotgun. Its like being a recon with a shotgun. My personal best kit is the VSS Sniperyaska special, with a red dot :D because I love knowing where my enemy is and I love being up close and personal. Its rate of fire is astonishing and is akin to the pp2000 except with 5x the range. The gun firing from the hip is also amazing and great for clearing out rooms. And I'm in the shit, so Im helping my team :)

Firstly, we don't know how class loadouts will work in BF3. BF2142 had a good system where you had to switch your Sniper rifle for an Carbine, and that worked perfectly well as you still had your other recon abilities. I personally don't want SNIPERS up and close, I want them to be far away, spot and take shots at everyone else. I want it to be the way it was, 2 shots to the body 1 to the head. The close range recon load-out is what you'll need in order to get close.

Quick-scoping in games, in my eyes, is the equivalent to the iron sights mounted on most mil-spec scopes to allow a sniper to use his rifle at close range. And quick-scoping isn't really a problem in games like COD where it was just a small elite community that could pull it off before they were dropped by a FAMAS or TAR. But a lot of attention is drawn to it because of all the try hards quick-scope.

I think a good sniper in your team who spot and frag the enemy close to target and fighting vehicles with mortar is better than a "quickscoping" bunnyhopping dude!

There already is quickscoping in battlefield i dont know what people are saying that they dont ever want to see it i run around with the reg scope and magnum and quickscope all day. And i do it successfully its just a million times more difficult than cod quickscoping.

I think that the mechanics for sniping in bbc2 are fine. The way the bullet drops ruins most bush wookies and unless your at a very close range its not a one shot unless its a head shot. I personally love how the bullet goes straight when no scoping and I think it should stay like that, I rarely have problems with any ppl sniping and if you dont stand in one spot for to long you will almost never die from sniping

c4 is better for engineers or so, make snipers have binoculars or something to spot people easily and make it worth a lot of points.

quickscoping has it's pros and cons, I believe you shouldn't use it as a complete game style, I believe that you should use it if you are in trouble at mid to close range. That being said, if you give the community an inch, they will take a yard. But it doesn't really affect me as long as the maps in Battlefield 3 are as large as BFBC2 because i hardscope the shit out of people across the map and I love every minute of it.

@saberman41 but quickscoping isnt fun , its only cool when you can actually utilize it in a sticky situation:p , and its not a challenge its pretty easy, but what i meant to say it doesnt belong in a war game it belongs in an arcade shooter like BO or MW2 . If my team loses because some idiot keeps doing nothing but quickscoping than he can better get out of the match!

I got MW2 very very late on and by the time i got it, the game had turned into a circus, because of quickscoping, no scoping, and 360's. So no i dont want quickscoping in Battlefield, it only turns games into circuses

quickscoping might work in BC, But will not fit in BF3. Hopefully we will se something about that in the next gameplay videos
