Wow, those actors, the blonde and the brunette are lava lava; hot!!!. Wished I could have both has entertainers of my surreal world. By the way, Federico feliini's mivies are unique and controversial; I love it!
@insistence No, I understand the film. I've seen it dozens of times. The Roman Empire, which lasted approx. 500 years, fell when Romulus Augustus was forced to abdicate. The Roman Empire was in a terrible state due to excess both politically and culturally, just as America has been for several decades. During the disco era, an era known for its excesses, history began to repeat itself. That's why I have this soundtrack.
I personally find this video a great job, and I have to congratulate you for the courage you have had when you made this kind of trailer with such an atypical song!
But the feelings I recive looking at this video with that soundtrack are obviously not the same Fellini wanted to express in the film. Don't know why, but that video totally changes the atmosphere of the film itself. In the movie all is dark, all is ruined, corrupted. Your video in one word: freshness.
I have not seen this since 1969...I was 14. I am in my 50's now looking at from am artistic point of view.. fantastic Fellini. Dinner with Trimalchio. Song is great with it..
Dude, I watched this movie two nights in a row... I was GOING to figure it out... the second night after about 4 strong drinks... I really think I had it figured out!!! lol and btw I like it just fine. :)
My favorite Fellini movie (the only one that I really liked of his). It's his most entertaining and surreal, and the two lead actors are two of the most beautiful men to ever grace the silver screen. The camera was in love with them. Great job and I love that song !
beautiful tribute! sometimes when seeing fellini satyricon, I think about doing the entire movie in disco style ! sort of marie antoinette vs coppola but with emphasis on the summer of love yo know! beautiful thanks for posting this video!
1:33 is a CLASSIC example of Rick's humor and straight (?) on literal 'moment to lyric' translation. LOVE your choice of Music (always)! Friggin' GREAT Vid bud!!! Ending... perfect. :)
This is great. It really captures something about the film...that kind of disjointed "what the hell is going on here" kind of feeling. Only in a fun way.
Why do people feel it's necessary to ruin great works of art by putting their own soundtrack across it? It's like scribbling over the Mona Lisa! Cultural vandalism.
I loved this tribute! It's my favorite disco song which was an unexpected treat. I was having a discussion on Facebook with a friend who says this is in his top three Fellini films. I was shocked because i thought he had great taste. I saw this fifteen years ago and thought it was empty and too bizarre. Now I might see it again, although I'm sure I won't love it as much as I do this vid. Thanks!
I'm encourage in only one way for the future of movies: the L.A. County Museum recently suspended it's film program and Martin Scorsese wrote an open letter to the times and now, along with a donation by theHollywood Foreign Press, the program is back on. In that same open letter, Scorsese said - quote - "obviously, the entire film industry needs to be overhauled." If enough great minds, like Scorses's, got together, oerhaps the entire industry could be revived. It's dead now. Thank you!!!
thanks sweet Jesus and Holly Hunter (ops, mother) for HD and for YTube..
and, please american soldiers stay at home at least next 10 years and no wars, please, leave us enjoy of this precious gifts of modern technology of comunications...you can enjoy it, too, you know.. life is so beautifull...
from the looks of it I kind of find it sexy and surreal...I don't know I need to see the movie...maybe I might say the same thing or something different...thanks for sharing
Okay ... trick is: you see the movie seven times and THEN you read the book. lol! I know what you mean, but it actually is quite faithfull in tone to Petronius' book.
Im chinese....I dunno what this history old movie..but when i watch the actor who acted gitlon felt fall in love him~! I find his name call "Max Born" but google is hard to find about him....
This is then my opinion only, but I think that this is your best movie video ever. I love it :) That film material fits perfectly with the music and you have selected just right film scenes.
I love the video, love the movie too :) Wonderfull Fellini´s version of that Petronius Arbiter´s classic novel from the "golden age of the Roman Empire". Petronius was a close friend of emperor Nero and his party life/taste advisor. Nero then was perhaps most loved emperor of Rome ever among common people. His reign was the era of wealthyness, peace and prosperity in Rome. Nero was a gay guy and last emperor from Julius-Claudius dynasty, which created the greatness of Rome since Julius Caesar.

This is divine. Fantastic. You should do something with Sylvester and Visconti. It would be fab. Or Arthur Russell and Silvana Mangano in ANY film.

@snap0r4z I agree. this music is a proof the uploader's complete misundarstanding of the film.

Fellini's Satyricon feels like the best science fiction. Your video compiled some of the sexiest parts. The soundtrack is perfect. Excellent job!

la cosa più paradossale è che per un simile capolavoro del cinema italiano vedo solo commenti stranieri.
mai visto un film che rappresenti con più colore la decadenza e la satirica dissolutezza della roma imperiale.
