how does that work? don't you need hardware buttons for the android OS? how does it work since the n900 doesn't have any hardware buttons???

@sleepee11 they use the side camera buttons, and the power buttons ;) search up Nitdroid on youtube or google it ;) it works amazing ;)

@sleepee11 you can now update it OTA (over the air). which means you can update it from the phone itself. if the update is recent, most likely OTA updating wont work, but if its old enough, OTA will work

i couldn't do it over the air either... every time i selected continue with the update, it would just give me the option to create a backup but not to actually update the OS. it was wierd...

but it's ok, i finally was able to get a windows machine to work and i got pr 1.3 finally... its noticeably faster and snappier. im glad i finally updated...

my version shows up as unknown whenever I try updating from ovi suite on my pc it says it's up to date or cant find phone

Good review however, I updated it over the air and you don't need wifi for that. It does take a long time via 3g but it works and so much smoother and it holds the connections alot better. The app manager is still slow but at least it works. Still having issues with Skype far as video calling but Google video calling works fine

All true, but Idk if the smoothness is cuz the phone just got flashed and cleaned up, or it's the new PR 1.3

I also noticed that the application manager is better now

this video is wrong, skip using Nokia Software Updater; just backup on the handset then use Flasher-32 to do the upgrade, that way you don't use your home folder, and you can restore contacts, settings and apps after update..

you forgot that media player is better images load straight away and video playback is better but could you find out a way to play videos on facebook now because flash tweak ap only worked for 1.2

i have the nokia software updater and when i open it .. it tells me u have the last update and i dont ...

btw i cant update my phone also from apps manager

and ovi suite the same problem

@70o0oda This can mean two things, one the update isnt available in your country yet, or you gotta try restoring the n900 first. then try updating it again from the nokia software updater. Dont forget to backup. If thats not working i suggest taking it to a nokia dealer ;)

Actually, all my data was intact(music, videos, contacts, pictures). Even more so, the bookmarks were also available. Although all the apps were deleted, the yellow sticky notepad app, which I had to reinstall had all the data that I've entered. I have no idea how. Adobe Flash player 10 is still not available. Sucks big time. Nokia releases awesome phones, but that is it. Maybe they should just leave the whole thing to n900 users to struggle with.... not cool.

i updated mine yesterday. . . alot smoother! i really prefer nokia upgrader than on the air update. . . on the air update has lot of issue including memory full error and update via pc suite error.
