Toshiba Satellite Screen Replacement

My son took apart his C655D-S5200 in order to replace the screen. He removed the screen brackets from the lid, then removed the cracked screen. Both brackets seem to be "frozen" at 90 degrees to the laptop's base or keyboard. Do you know what could cause this?

Is it recommended to put the electrical tape on when you plug into the back of the screen?

great video, it really helped. Can you replace a Toshiba LCD screen that has builted in web cam with a Dell LCD screen that doesnt have a web cam. I dont think it matters about the cam but just wondered if I could use the Dell for parts in the Toshiba.... I am guessing no but thought I would check before buying a new screen

I have the same laptop and it's screen has spiderweb cracks. Where did you get you're screen from ? I would rather spend little money on a screen than a boat load on a new laptop.

Great video! How do I know, though, if the screen is backlit by a CCFL or an LED? I can't find any specs describing that.

Thank you for this video... my screen got busted and I was told it would cost $400-$500 to repair at Best Buy. The laptop itself was under $500. I ordered and just installed my $80 screen in under 30 minutes with the help of your video. Thank you soooo much!!!
