I saw it 3 times except all 3 were with Kate's replacement.

  • OMG my school play is this play thumbs up if its fun cuz i dont wana be sitting there board sing 42 street hope its fun plz be worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my nanna and auntie took me to see this back in 92 in melb when i was 11....front row...loved it

  • it's true New york is the real city!!!

    beloved forever and ever!!!

    wonderfull...marvellous...splendid

    lovely

  • Absolutely magnificent!

  • THIS is why New York is the greatest city in the world! I love New York, Love Broadway, love the 8-show-a-week awesomeness that are Broadway Musical performers. Any human who can watch a performance like this one and not be riveted...and smiling is lacking something important.

  • this group is fantantic, I wonder what became of them...

  • If you like this, you will love the DVD of the 30's movie

  • Lol I saw this last night! Beautiul musical! <3

  • we're dancing to this in my dance school, so excited!

  • @GeorgiaJelly me to

  • Brilliant! Would love to see this on stage again, with a talented company. Did the show in high school about 15 years ago and did not have any dance experience to be in the dance company, but this makes me want to learn! I love how the taps make music.

  • This is one of the most amazing videos on YouTube

  • This is the reason why I do tap :)

  • doing this song in choir :)

  • Does anyone have the version for the opening of the 2001 Tony Awards? This version opens at the Ford theater...and after the subway routine, the troup returns to Radio City Music Hall,,,,, what is missing here is the 45 second sequence as they all enter the lobby and dance and tap down the aisles. Then at the last moment from stage right (audience left) they pick up the Girl In the Blue Dress....she dances up the steps...like wow...and enters on the original before we see her in this version.

  • @sagernana i think the girl in blue is christine ebersole ?

  • @AdamEfimoff no it isn't it's Kate Levering as the description says

  • Awesome book, awesome music, out-of-this-world dancing — exactly what we need to escape for a few hours from reality! We need more shows like this that don't further and agenda or preach a point — they just need to entertain us.

  • One of my all time Broadway favorites, but being ex navy I noticed that sailor

    is out of uniform. LOL

  • That's América !!!

  • @BRUNO12306 That is art! in America or worlwide!

  • We need more musicals like 42nd Street! Mopulin Rouge was amazing, but it lacked the kinda of grace you can only find on Broadway! XD

  • insanely awesome.

  • My mother and I went to see the musical years ago when Jerry Orbach was alive. Sensational show. Big Extravaganza.

  • Perfect music!

  • 42ns Street is a great and timeless play.

  • This SUCKS compared to the orginal.

This just has a bunch of glowing signs, but the orginal had cars, police, fake rape, and Ruby Keeler.

  • love the dancing, the tap is so good. :-)

I once did a recital dance number to this song. ;-)

  • I saw the original production of 42nd Street back in the mid 80s and later, the revival. I think the 2001 version exceeded the original in some aspects. But this number as well as the finale are proof that tap dancing is a young performers' game!

  • i have a dance to this i think its a bit more creative thn this version but own people have there thoughts

  • i was in that musical in germany! it was sooooo awesome :D

  • i have a tap dance to this song but its different

  • 0:34

  • I'd love to see that live x

  • our schools doing this!

  • no one cares.

    honestly.

    mine is too.

    wooo frickin' hoo.

  • My mum always talks about the first London West End version that she saw that starts off with one dancer doing a simple tap move that evolves into the whole cast doing the big tap number, wish I could see that x

  • Love to see a better quality version. I love it!

  • every time i watch this i get chills. amazing!

  • i know this dance and i love it! its not really hard just fast!!!!

  • THIS IS WHAT WE ABSOLUTELY WANT BACK ON BROADWAY!!!!

Go to "Paulette Anne" in the search engine here on Y.T.

She is even BETTER than Ethel Merman was. I saw her in NYC at a Library, she should be on BROADWAY.

  • There could be some&^%$## fags in this stuff and you like that? Hummmmm Your profile didn't seem to match here. hummmmmmmmm. You're a strange one Mr. Grinch!

  • I want to be in the play so badly. The dancing is so cooool

  • Sassy this is what AMERICA WAS like. I so want all of this back! I love Irish Step. I am a Scot., love the bagpipes too!

  • this is incredible

  • Wholly shit. This is friggin' insane.

  • I was in the show and this clip is cut to hell. The tap sounds dont even match the feet.

  • i love that thing in the beginnng where they only lift the curtain enough to see the feet!

  • J'ai vu cette comédie musicale à Paris dans les années 80 ,j'en garde un souvenir ébloui!!!!!!

  • did anyone see it with nadine Isenegger?

  • Hey, yes I did. In July 2003, on a week's trip to New York with my university choir.

  • This is about the best musical I have ever seen!!

  • my school did this play, it was amazing

  • this is my dream.

  • Love it !

  • i learnt this dance i love it!!!! its very fast but the steps are easy!

    i love it!!

  • awesome the last seconds... awesssommmeee!!!

  • I couldn't agree more.

The last bit when they go from that line into that wedge so perfectly and the thunderous tap dancing.

    It gives me goosebumps.

  • I saw this on Broadway w/ Kate... the only show I've seen actually on Broadway.

  • extraordinario!
