OMG my school play is this play thumbs up if its fun cuz i dont wana be sitting there board sing 42 street hope its fun plz be worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS is why New York is the greatest city in the world! I love New York, Love Broadway, love the 8-show-a-week awesomeness that are Broadway Musical performers. Any human who can watch a performance like this one and not be riveted...and smiling is lacking something important.
Brilliant! Would love to see this on stage again, with a talented company. Did the show in high school about 15 years ago and did not have any dance experience to be in the dance company, but this makes me want to learn! I love how the taps make music.
Does anyone have the version for the opening of the 2001 Tony Awards? This version opens at the Ford theater...and after the subway routine, the troup returns to Radio City Music Hall,,,,, what is missing here is the 45 second sequence as they all enter the lobby and dance and tap down the aisles. Then at the last moment from stage right (audience left) they pick up the Girl In the Blue Dress....she dances up the steps...like wow...and enters on the original before we see her in this version.
Awesome book, awesome music, out-of-this-world dancing — exactly what we need to escape for a few hours from reality! We need more shows like this that don't further and agenda or preach a point — they just need to entertain us.
I saw the original production of 42nd Street back in the mid 80s and later, the revival. I think the 2001 version exceeded the original in some aspects. But this number as well as the finale are proof that tap dancing is a young performers' game!
My mum always talks about the first London West End version that she saw that starts off with one dancer doing a simple tap move that evolves into the whole cast doing the big tap number, wish I could see that x
There could be some&^%$## fags in this stuff and you like that? Hummmmm Your profile didn't seem to match here. hummmmmmmmm. You're a strange one Mr. Grinch!

We need more musicals like 42nd Street! Mopulin Rouge was amazing, but it lacked the kinda of grace you can only find on Broadway! XD

This SUCKS compared to the orginal.
This just has a bunch of glowing signs, but the orginal had cars, police, fake rape, and Ruby Keeler.

THIS IS WHAT WE ABSOLUTELY WANT BACK ON BROADWAY!!!!
Go to "Paulette Anne" in the search engine here on Y.T.
She is even BETTER than Ethel Merman was. I saw her in NYC at a Library, she should be on BROADWAY.

The last bit when they go from that line into that wedge so perfectly and the thunderous tap dancing.
It gives me goosebumps.
