My personal interpretation of "God has let you down" would be, that the person who died was a christian, some of his good deeds may be attributed to him wanting to stay true to that. Though in his death, he finds that there is no life after death, no eternal paradise; And thus, he is let down by his god.
As Long As Their Are Churches made of Marble and Stone and massively built, while there is people living in shacks, I will continue to think religion is wasting my money.
@SeraphAMV Churches are made of marble and stone in order to attract more people from first world countries. More people= more donations = more money to help 3rd world countries.
@theJmister2 I'm not sure either....being a fellow Christian I love this song too but want to know what they mean by that. Maybe that God has let him down to a new life or place...I dont know
@theJmister2 Probably that the main character singing means that God wasn't there for the person he sings about when he/she died. It's quite funny that this album contains so many "blasphemous" lyrics (Doomsday: "God will end on this doomsday", A Thousand Deaths: "And throw off these schackles of bad religion", etc.). Maybe Yoav Goren is an atheist or anti-theist, but I actually don't think so. Think about the calm string ending the last minute of the song: it kind of gives me a little hope. :P
@BoyBlueberry Even those lines are not exactly blasphemous. The doomsday line is definitely more figurative, like the phrase "God forsaken". And he does elaborate "bad religion" which there are a number of those. That at least is MY hypothesis.
@bionicleweasel I see your point. Maybe Yoav Goren only wants to show us the more hateful and harsh sides of us humans, or maybe not. In any case, I've actually asked him personally trough Facebook what he really means with these lyrics, and his answer was that he won't tell anyone about the "original" intention/message, but that it's up to us listeners to find our own interpretations of it. He also said that I should look at the album as a whole instead of analyzing every single word. :P
@bionicleweasel In my opinion all religion is bad, Look at the amount of wars religion causes the amount of bloodshed and tell me is anything truly good about religion?
@OnamakuJiante That's a bit harsh. Honestly, in almost all cases of "religiously inspired" wars, the true inspiration for it was a material possession or property. For instance, the Catholic church in the dark ages was more a harsh government than religion, having no moral guidance to control them. If anything, these wars prove what happens when morality is set by the wayside. As well, it is wise not to sum up everyone's separate beliefs together as "religion".
@OnamakuJiante "your" opinion is not really yours, but a faulty and ill-considered idea which you got from listening to other YT atheists and decided to subscribe to. As more people abandoned the moral guidance of religion, it became necessary to create more laws & red tape, which has proven less effective as a governance. And religion doesn't cause wars....people do.
@PrincessPromethea Who are you to tell me what my opinion is? You have no right to tell me what my opinion is and i have every right to that opinion. And religion is a human thought so yes people do cause wars but what do they blame those wars on? Religion.
@OnamakuJiante You have an opinion, and I have an opinion about your opinion. So you think only you have a right to an opinion, and I don't? Well, that's your opinion too, and like all your opinions, it's idiotic, and just wrong.
This is the only artist(s) in the world for who i can say that they simply don't have song which i don't like. The second album proves even more that they are the meaning of word "music"
@Drekanable i know hah! every single song they make is pure awesomness or beauty yet they arent evn close to being as famous as most celebrities , and most celebrities' music sucks footballs
the intro comes from one of immediate music's tracks.

@theJmister2 It's an elegy to Jesus Christ, it appears. I reckon it's a reference to "my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?".
