Jerry Tyree is the other trumpet player. There are other titles posted on YouTube from this same Newport performance. The video is primitive at times but the audio is good. This is really like discovering "jazz gold." It's a shame there is no DVD available of whatever was preserved.
@PhillyJoeP Jerry Tyree, all great players, I wonder if they were playing high notes in some of there licks like that before they played with Maynard, I bet he helped with that, it wasn't a very common thing back then.

I recognize Rick Kieffer and Maynard but I couldn't catch the name of the other. It sounded like Boss said Jerry Paris. Is that right?
This is one of the greatest Newport performances ever. Wonderful that it is preserved.
