to the top comment: its the way of the world. three ways to go, you line your pockets like the rest, you fight to line the pockets, or you sit back watch the world burn and not even piss on the ashes.
The Mississippi River broke through a protective dike today. What is a protective dike? Is it a large woman that says "Don't go near there! But Betty- Don't go near there! Don't go down by the river!"... No, we can't say "dyke" on the air, we can't even say "lesbian" anymore, it's "women in comfortable shoes. Thank You."
@comicguitar That was great what you did...but do any of te students even know what nam was all about? Sad part for us that lived through this is that it was all about politics. a good movie about the vietnam war is "born on the fourth of july." the whole vietnam war was a crock of shit; it's not fair to send some'one off to war against their will, thats like sending a horse to the slaughterhouse, then when they get back they get spit on by everybody. it's certainly not justifiable when we go to some'one elses country and kill innocent civilians.
I don't understand why just because I don't agree with you murdering people, I should stand in front of you while people try to murder you.
The only time it is acceptable to fight in a war, is if your country is being invaded and you need to protect the citizens. As far as I'm aware nobody's invaded my country. Sure, there's been a terrorist attack, but that's not exactly something that warrents sending thousands of teenagers and young adults to war to kill everyone affiliated with these groups.

I hate the government and military who sent them there, but I respect that fidelity.
right on man. We used this attack to invade a country that has no nukes. Just WMDs that we sold iraq to go war with iran. If this country had no oil we wouldn't be there. We damn well sure don't need to be there to protect america! We can protect america in america! But this country uses the media to point out illegal immigration causing public hate for the race that is stealing our jobs. When infact illegal immigrants are let in so wen us goes to war with their land, the public let thm.
The war in Iraq wasn't about oil. If it was, we'd be taking it out of that country by the tankerfulls ad infinitum. As it is, gas prices are getting higher & higher. If we're taking all this oil, why haven't they dropped? Also, if you don't confront the enemy on his home turf, the only alternative is to confront them here. I don't want some terroristic extremist picking a fight here in the US. We need to strengthen our borders, but we also need to be proactive instead of reactive w/our enemies.
If the army invaded a US hood tonight. Then the people would fight to keep the occupation out. This applies in afgan and iraq. Your fighting men who don't want you there not terrorists. Alot of terrorists have run into pakistan. All america & europe have done is influence a recruitment line for terrorism. U.S gave $53 billion dollars to the taliban. Bin Laden is a CIA Tactiction. How can you like a governement thats protected by you & me? They don't give a fuck about us.
In any war, there will be folks on opposite sides. War isn't pretty & it should never be used as a first resort, but if the other side isn't willing to meet w/you to work out the issue peacefully & they openly attack you (i.e. 9/11, Pearl Harbor, etc.); the only option left is an aggressive response. Yes, the US backed the Taliban against Russia, but they attacked us anyway. 1st rule of warfare: don't leave an enemy in a position to knife you in the back. Hit em hard & put em out of action.
What you fail to realize is that same terrorist you're so willing to play nice with has no qualms about shooting you in the face along with your entire family, friends & anyone else you might have ever known. The only way to have a peaceful dialogue is if both sides are willing to come together & talk. We would be, but they aren't. Therefore, you do what is necessary to protect & prevent yourself from being attacked by them or anyone else ever again.
I'm not backing the terrorists. I'm backing the men & women who don't want you there. America invaded a country! But America was not attacked by a county! What you fail to realise is every action has a reaction. 1st rule of warefare. Todays ally becomes tommorows enemy. Me & you are like a palastinian kid, our government doesnt give a fuck if we die or we live. Government for the people... not people for the government! You don't ask WHY... you believe their LIES.
Pear Habour... wasnt that REACTION from the US cutting off Japans oil supply? It was tragic yes... but compared to the two nukes dropped? Compared to the jap women of today still giving birth to mutalated babies... Pear Habour was a pin drop in the fucking ocean. 9/11? Two explosions compared to the 100's of bombs we've dropped on Iraq. We've killed more innocent people man. How can you deny it. We are the terrorists. Look at the history of the empires. We are no different. :(
You fail to remember the atrocities & war crimes the Japanese carried out on the Manchurian Chinese during their occupation of that country. Millions slaughtered -- not just soldiers, but women & children, too - not to mention the abuse & murder of American, British & Philippine POWs to name a few. They weren't fighting to survive but were evil barbarians against all who weren't Japanese. They're our friends & allies now, but were far different then. The nukes saved more lives than they took.
the said that they just turned robyn loose and he just went with his own words instead of the script and it worked out perfect. he is such a jenious. great movie to . the vets said that the real adrian was just as funny and he cheered up the troops every morning., god bless our vets and troops today. see ya later bye
I disagree. Drafted soldiers deserve our respect, but so do those who voluntarily enlist to serve our country. And it's people like you who think otherwise who need to stand in front of our troops and get shot at.
I don't only mean from the US or UK, but all over the world. Anyone who will willingly stand-up and fight someone elses fight, without knowing why, does not deserve respect. I have friends in the army and as much as I wish them all the best while they're in the middle east, they know my opinion on what they're doing. Especially when one of them has killed a civilian.
As an "undeserving of your respect voluntarily enlisted soon to go to basic training sailor" it is my job, or soon to be job to put my life on the line to defend assholes like you. That in and of itself demands respect even if you don't agree with what is going on. If you do not support our troops, please, feel free to stand in front of us. We will be thankful.
really? are you serious? though our gov't is flawed, it's the best in the world (sad, but true) so still...they are protecting us, if we didn't have soldiers in Iraq/Afghanistan, there would be no allies over there, Israelis would be slaughtered, and soon after while, here comes WWIII...not the prettiest thing in the world..
I would just like to know which particular criteria you base your statement on that your country's government is "the best in the world", other than the blind indoctrination you as American children have had to swallow since early childhood?
Born and raised for 14 of my best years in Cork in the beautiful Emerald Isle...and though i dislike gov't itself, i believe america's (though Majorly flawed) still stands stronger than others...and don't ye dare call me a yank again
First of all NO government is the BEST because gov't in its nature is violence. It is not our JOB to police the world in the middle east and tell everyone else how to live. We need to come home and solve problems here first...and not by printing money out of thin air
Anyone who puts on a uniform (whether drafted or otherwise) deserves our undying respect & gratitude. They're tasked with doing the hardest job in the country for very little pay, recognition & are subject to the enmity of the world while facing the daily possibility of losing their lives. It's the damned politicians (regardless of gov't or party affiliation) that you should dump your scorn & hatred upon. Wake up & smell the bullshit, asshole.
The first time I went to Okinawa I thought military radio would sound like this. I was expecting, "Goooooooooooood moooooooooooorning Okinawa!" . Boy, was I disappointed. AFRTS or "A-Farts"as we called it was a total snoozefest,

Actually there are plenty of things I would risk my life for. But this is getting us nowhere. Agree to disagree?
carlosfarva 2 years ago
right on man. When infact illegal immigrants are let in so wen us goes to war with their land, the public let thm.
jonny17121 2 years ago
The war in Iraq wasn't about oil. If it was, we'd be taking it out of that country by the tankerfulls ad infinitum. As it is, gas prices are getting higher & higher. If we're taking all this oil, why haven't they dropped? Also, if you don't confront the enemy on his home turf, the only alternative is to confront them here. I don't want some terroristic extremist picking a fight here in the US. We need to strengthen our borders, but we also need to be proactive instead of reactive w/our enemies.
tchapman1977 2 years ago
If the army invaded a US hood tonight. Then the people would fight to keep the occupation out. This applies in afgan and iraq. Your fighting men who don't want you there not terrorists. Alot of terrorists have run into pakistan. All america & europe have done is influence a recruitment line for terrorism. U.S gave $53 billion dollars to the taliban. Bin Laden is a CIA Tactiction. How can you like a governement thats protected by you & me? They don't give a fuck about us.
jonny17121 2 years ago
In any war, there will be folks on opposite sides. War isn't pretty & it should never be used as a first resort, but if the other side isn't willing to meet w/you to work out the issue peacefully & they openly attack you (i.e. 9/11, Pearl Harbor, etc.); the only option left is an aggressive response. Yes, the US backed the Taliban against Russia, but they attacked us anyway. 1st rule of warfare: don't leave an enemy in a position to knife you in the back. Hit em hard & put em out of action.
tchapman1977 2 years ago
actually...yes it is...
would you rather we make them tea?
JHUD156 2 years ago
Actually, yes.
I would rather sit down with a terrorist and have tea than shoot him in the face.
carlosfarva 2 years ago 3
What you fail to realize is that same terrorist you're so willing to play nice with has no qualms about shooting you in the face along with your entire family, friends & anyone else you might have ever known. The only way to have a peaceful dialogue is if both sides are willing to come together & talk. We would be, but they aren't. Therefore, you do what is necessary to protect & prevent yourself from being attacked by them or anyone else ever again.
tchapman1977 2 years ago

jonny17121 2 years ago
You fail to remember the atrocities & war crimes the Japanese carried out on the Manchurian Chinese during their occupation of that country. Millions slaughtered -- not just soldiers, but women & children, too - not to mention the abuse & murder of American, British & Philippine POWs to name a few. They weren't fighting to survive but were evil barbarians against all who weren't Japanese. They're our friends & allies now, but were far different then. The nukes saved more lives than they took.
tchapman1977 2 years ago
Saved more lives... or more money?
Governments send us to war. Just like their governments send their people to war.
Our gov. fucks up, we pay for it. We are human shields that pump money into greedy pockets.
I'll never trade patriotism for humanitarianism.
Barbarians exist on both sides. We are no better when it comes to war crimes or slavery.
I understand what your saying though.

Only drafted soldiers deserve our respect. Anyone who volunteers deserves nothing.
carlosfarva 2 years ago
I disagree. Drafted soldiers deserve our respect, but so do those who voluntarily enlist to serve our country. And it's people like you who think otherwise who need to stand in front of our troops and get shot at.
AtlantisSkye 2 years ago

AtlantisSkye 2 years ago 2
really? are you serious? though our gov't is flawed, it's the best in the world (sad, but true) so still...they are protecting us, if we didn't have soldiers in Iraq/Afghanistan, there would be no allies over there, Israelis would be slaughtered, and soon after while, here comes WWIII...not the prettiest thing in the world..
Cw2e 2 years ago
I would just like to know which particular criteria you base your statement on that your country's government is "the best in the world", other than the blind indoctrination you as American children have had to swallow since early childhood?
googlejoint 2 years ago
Born and raised for 14 of my best years in Cork in the beautiful Emerald Isle...and though i dislike gov't itself, i believe america's (though Majorly flawed) still stands stronger than others...and don't ye dare call me a yank again
Cw2e 2 years ago
Would love to know how it "stands stronger than others". Proof please :)
jonny17121 2 years ago
First of all NO government is the BEST because gov't in its nature is violence. It is not our JOB to police the world in the middle east and tell everyone else how to live. We need to come home and solve problems here first...and not by printing money out of thin air
fanofgreys1 2 years ago
Anyone who puts on a uniform (whether drafted or otherwise) deserves our undying respect & gratitude. They're tasked with doing the hardest job in the country for very little pay, recognition & are subject to the enmity of the world while facing the daily possibility of losing their lives. It's the damned politicians (regardless of gov't or party affiliation) that you should dump your scorn & hatred upon. Wake up & smell the bullshit, asshole.
