Best I've seen so far as with lights I have is slapping an asphyrical lens on the sst-50 with Two batteries robbed out of a laptop battery. laptops have 18650's soldered together. Thing punches out incredible and is the same size as these. Believe I tested one on a vid.haven't had much luck with buying rechargable batteries is why I went to the laptop batts.
Bought a TK35 from Going Gear... Great service from them and FANTASTIC light. Love the smaller form factor... and actually I like that it is less focused. Gives a nice perimeter illumination when out camping. Unless you have very specific need for 200yard throw the TK35 is more than enough. I also liked the 2 button arrangement. Easy to use with gloves on. I often leave it in its holster. You can work the switches even when it is in the holster.
Marshall, are these the only three throwers? I own a TK35, but i find the Olight and Catapult too big to carry around, Is there anything about the same size as the TK35 but a very much better thrower? Thanks man! How's the baby?
Thanks for all your video reviews - great reviews of great products.
I have a TK35 (and a lot of other LED lights), so far it's the best all round practical sized light I've seen, very pleased with it. Catapult looks like a great thrower, but too big for my needs and in most cases a bit more spill is more useful.
@clerlic Been awhile hope you and others get this message. STROBE allows turbo brightness with about half the battery consumption AND if used OUTDOORS that somewhat distracting blinking is barely noticeable. The further away you shine the light the less noticeable. Something about your eye holding a residual light level causes the blink to murge into continuous. USE THE STROBE OUTDOORS FOR DISTANCE WITH HALF THE BATTERY DRAIN. Try it tonight, LOL
Hello! can u please tell me if there are any overheating issue with the TK35 after long term use? And, can I use 123 batteries you can get at target made by Duracel or energizer. It is labeled 123, not sure if CR123 are the same. thanks
@Proteus3000 If you like the performance of the Catapult but want something smaller, get the Olight M3X. It is at least as good of a thrower and is quite a bit lighter.
Cool review, after watching this i actually got the TK 35 mainly because it's tiny yet still very powerfull. I wasn't a fan of the look of it from pictures but once i handled it i really liked it, it also comes with the holster. I like the Tk35 for it medium range spread, as you say it's not as focused but it throws a great medium range/close range beam yet still throws a decent distance beam as well. Great review.
Are u really Sure your Olight SR 91, Olight M3X Triton, Olight Sr50 are "all Highly water resistant to IPX-8 std"? IPX-8 means it can submerge in water to 3.6m Deep up to 24hr & no problem at all? Is it True?
Can Olight SR 91, Olight M3X Triton, Olight Sr50 do the same as Olight M20?
Hey my birthday is coming up and i really want an EDC light. Im looking for something like the klarus NT10. I want it to run on a CR-123, high lumens atleast 200+ and compact. I also really love the idea are variable brightness or many different brightness levels

I have the Fenix TK35 and I am amazed, for $109, I am amazed. Came with a lanyard and a nylon holster! I was really happy, I took this light to my meeting and everyone was amazed with the look of it, I wish it had a better look but it's amazing which pushes me pass the design. It's a beast, my next door neighbor was out at night revving up the engine on his motorcycle, I shined the light over there and I did not hear it again. Good video!
@fourcentsable
Haha man I actually noticed that a long time ago when I tried it with my Sunwayman T20C
It def works but unfortunitly it doesn't seem to work so well with 10htz strobe works really good with 20 though.

Yea man the BC40 is bad ass I love mine. It's bright as hell and lights up a big area.
Although marsh is actually right it's def not a super thrower but it will light up a biig area at once. Do you have one?

@Beaugelevi No long term issues that we have seen. Any high quality CR123 is fine.
goingprepared 6 months ago
@Beaugelevi all that counts id voltage. look around the packaging to see if they say it outputs 3.7V or 3.6V (anything in that range)

I have a lot of different lights for different uses (mostly tactical for my work)
This is not a Tactical Light as we use in terms of tactical,
BUT this is the most awesome light I have ever bought, that is still easy to carry on my belt, without hindering my work.
This ranges in the top 3 of my favorite lights.
Thanks for the video. Realy like it. Keep up the good work

Hi Marshall,
Which one will be better thrower,
Olight M3X or EagleTac M3C4 (XML)

@kaerixxx I haven't tested the Eagletac yet, but I'm guessing they will be about the same.

Nice comparison! The Fenix TK41 might fall into the " XML thrower" category too, and from what I heard is that it throw really far.

You say the tk35 is dimmer. You mean actually dimmer or just less lux so the hotspot is dimmer?

@bjt3833 Not sure about the lumens, but the lux rating is definitely less than the other two.
