I've been involved with the Baltimore Port for almost 15 years. It's important to note that a very large quantity of the goods and raw materials shipped in and out are exploitive. Millions of tons of coal are shipped out of our port that is too dirty for our env. laws-so it is shipped overseas. Nothing against the shipmen (my grandfather a MM captain for over 50 years), but too much is lauded as "economic development", but it's really not.
