Thank you for posting this. Gorr had a unique voice, which was shown at its' best live. This performance of Ortrud's curse is excellent, however, my personal favourite is her live performance from Bayreuth in 1959. I have never heard such an enormous voice and can only imagine how thrilling this must have been to hear live in the theatre. Brava, Ms Gorr and thank you to classicvinylbiz.

I had a copy of this lp, long time ago, on a tape...Thank you so much for publishing this videos of Rita Gorr. I was really missing this recital. Her Orfeo was amazing too, in a very very different style.

OMG she was terrifying! how freely she let rip in the high register... a generous singer who i think could very easily have become a great soprano, but chose wisely and stayed an outstanding mezzo
