So what's the deal? Is it just a respect thing doing the opposition chant? Is it at all common that this would happen?

It would mostly only happen in a friendly or in a european cup match, never a premier league game (all the teams hate each other) lol but Barcelona and Liverpool are two succesful clubs and have a lot of respect for each other, aswell as celtic.
