  • @bcvcdg fag

  • This Used To be A Radio Show!

    But This Movie Was Better!

  • "Guns, tanks, bombs... they're like toys against them!"

  • hahahahaahhahahhh i didn't know the old movies were so funny ahhahahahahhahahh

  • I think they been sniffing to much cocaine 1.15/1.20

  • Lol this shows how the book is always truly better than the movie. And that movies today completely obliterate movies 50 or 60 years ago...

  • In the book it says Tripods, not weird flying things with blaster on the top!

  • @BeatRock365 According to the movie, the machines don't fly, they move on electronic tripods. I know, geek reply.

  • 1:48

I love the way how the guy used the box to beat up the other guy. LOL

  • 1:10 That guy is smoking.

  • I like the part of the movie when the Martians first land and two or three humans try to make peace by waving a white flag. As if someone from another planet would know what a white flag means. Of course the Martians answer by vaporizing them.

That scene is a good reminder to liberals.

  • where are the tripods? that one thing near the house looked like a huge mushroom.

  • 0:28 LOL papper house

  • No nassa photos were available these people were pioneers gs

  • I can't find the full thing on youtube. Thumb this up if you want me to upload the full film in parts. If I get 15 thumbs I'll do it for you :D

  • @TheGamesCascade youtube doesn't allow full movies. you have to watch it in parts. also, don't go to the sites that you are told to go to. torrents are against the law.

  • better than the remake

  • my favorite line: you never know where you're going to wind up when you go to a square dance, do you?

  • Master piece is to small for this film!!!

  • Back in the 1950's this movie to them is the new Hollywood's shit. Now we have the modified version that makes the 1950's look like shit lol

  • why did they throw that one guy through a window?

  • @gswagallday Because chaos reigns over the world.

  • This Film Is a Awsome Epic Classic

  • Actually the movie made in 2005 was called War of the Worlds. This one was called THE War of the Worlds, you need to change your title.

  • @pattisgirls consider it changed :-)

  • @TrashTrailers sorry if that sounded sarcastic at all, wasn't meant to be :)

  • @pattisgirls No worries, you had a very good point! :-)

  • @pattisgirls you have a great taste in movies. do you know what the aliens look like. i mean outside the ships.

  • @able2ful1 Thank you :) To be honest, I've never had the opportunity to watch this one. I thought the remake was very well done, and I like to watch the remake and then Cloverfield afterward. Not exactly sure what brought on that ritual, but I've been doing that for a while now and been looking for something to follow Cloverfield with.

  • @pattisgirls whatever you do, avoid super 8. it is a cheap remake of e.t except witha bigger budget. also try to avoid reeker, any movie with ghosts and especially stay alive. try satan's playground or wrong turn if you like blood and guts (and i mean guts, as in the small intestine spilling out.)

  • @able2ful1 Thanks for the advice. I've actually heard from a few people that super 8 was crap. From the trailer alone I have to agree. Haven't seen seeker, stay alive or satan's playground, so I will definately steer clear. Wrong turn is one of my favorites lol.

  • @pattisgirls it's called reeker.

  • @able2ful1 ugh sorry about that was holding a fussy 1 year old when i was typing that, wasn't really paying attention lol.

  • There joking right?..

  • The Pal version is much better than Spielberg's. I'm a Spielberg fan and always have been but his version is the worst film he's ever done. Cruise is a puke and will never play a credible adult role. The meteor landings in the 53 version were superior to the tripods popping up out of the street in the Cruise version. Ridiculous.

  • @1918union Meteor's are way stupid....in the 05 version telling that the aliens came from lightning and started up the machines are much better...meteors are way to over used in sci fi movies :/

  • @1918union while i love what you just said, spielberg has actually made some good movies. like cloverfield. you're right about everything else though. i've never seen the 1953 version though. what are the other ones?

  • the 2005 version is way better , but I still enjoy watching this one : )

  • I'm Gen Y and I think this one is better than the second.

  • This is classic sci fi, and a helluva lot better than that stupid remake. Tom Cruise? What a bore.

  • And I love how the news paper printing press is still working fine during a worldwide alien holocaust.

  • lol i have this movie

  • the new war of the worlds is awesome, just AWESOME, this is good for the 50's, but the new, is art, a film worthy of steven spielberg

  • Its funny how men have that distinct 1950's acting voice

  • 0:43 best part ever

  • okay i did watch this one when i was about 6, and i enjoyed it, but seriously those who are clinging to the original, seriously guys, the new one is better, following just a dad and his kids and their survival to the very end just made the movie more epic and meaningful, less army stuff makes a movie better, battlefield LA, was okay, but this patriotic soldier stuff is way too old now, and that's why it was kinda boring most of the time, skyline was better. and 2005 war of the worlds was best.

  • @TheTAKES06 Have to disagree with you the George Pal version was far superior, the title of the movie is "War of the worlds" you take all the "Army stuff" out of the film and you just have a second rate father son/daughter coming of age film. There was no real sense of peril in Spielberg's film, because you hardly got to see the Martian war machines doing what they do, Not to mention a huge plot flaw.............

  • @THEscifiguy100 well it's not like the army wasn't there lol, but i get you 2each his own...

  • @THEscifiguy100 Thats what makes it more real. You saw it from a limited perspective. You wouldnt see an alien genocide from NORADS perspective, youd see your own dismal attempts to survive. The plot hole is the son... meh, miracles happen in real life. Suspension of disbelief. Get over it.

  • @Bushwacked487 I read the book and that is far superior to both films i just prefer the George pal version, I have my taste you have yours.

  • @THEscifiguy100 Hey, I didnt mean for my post to come across that bratty. My apologies.

  • @Bushwacked487 No offense taken we all get passionate from time to time ;-)

  • @TheTAKES06 (Continued)........ the Aliens came to earth millions of years in our past to bury the war machines so they could come back later and have a war with us ? why not just colonize earth then, the story does not make sense, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I just think George Pal had a better story, and NO Decota Fanning screaming all the time ;-)

  • blow me nwo and your big bag of tricks.. they just want billions dead.. blame it on space aliens

  • ...and before I forget... and this is some old-beef... and this is for the old-timers... and those who were traumatized by this psychological-Horror movie... and lets remember... that back in the 1950s... the US population was way more normal and more-modest... and so many people and especially kids... had freaken nightmares... and what is even worse... is that those who were traumatised... they will continue to have flash-back every time that they see a modern-street-lamp... that's right!!!

  • I really like what Steven Spielberg did here, although it's regrettable they don't show Tom Cruise in the trailer, he is a really good actor, in my opinion.

  • Yeah, I like this movie better than the new one. I used to watch the crap out of this movie when I was growing up, but I haven't grown up yet so I still watch it hehe.

  • Those Martian ships still freak me out. The rest of it, very campy, but those ships.... *shudder*

  • greate special efects!!!!

  • Lame movie e.e

  • this looks like a comedy, no strength, no emotion, dumb

  • I love this era of filmmaking. If you get a chance, will you watch my latest video - UFO

SOS. Hopefully, it has the same feeling. Search for the Cyborlite channel. Also on my channel: Salvation for the Planet of the Apes, Clock, Road to Mars and the Superbman trailer. Thanks.

  • WOTW(1953) Good.

    WOTW(2005-Stephen Speilberg) Great!

WOTW 1-2 Ok, WTH was that.

    My review^

  • I have a feeling NOBODY could act well back then

  • Now this what i call a classic! ....beats the new one anyday.

  • can someone explain the story of the musical one?i heard someone say that there was a movie and was never released r somethin , i loved the musical soundtrack 1 but im wonderin if there is a movie of it?

  • whats odd is that all the films are american yet it was actually set in england

  • Has anyone got the film to upload ?

  • War of the worlds (2005) was perfect

War of the worlds (1953) was good

War of the worlds 2 - The next wave (Sequel of 1953) was a piece of shit of a shit.

  • Comment removed

  • @PivotZXD Actually, WOTW 2 was the sequel to the shit asylum version. The 1953 version never had a sequel.

  • @XxP1NAxX

The 1953 verson did have a sequal in the form of a TV Series, but HG Wells never wrote a War of the Worlds II so the aftermath is left for the reader to decide . Also all versons leave out aspects of the book, in the book the Aliens also have Aircraft and construction equpiment in adition to their tripods and in the book there's a scene featuring a battle between a warship and 3 tripods where the ship sinks two of them before being destroyed

  • @snakes3425 Thunder Child, fuck yeah.

  • @PivotZXD actually war of the worlds 2 was a sequel to another war of the worlds movie that was made in 2005 or 2006

(it does not have tom cruise in it and the tripods look like crabs)

  • A very good and epic 1953 movie.

  • The Tripods in the newer verson were more faithful to how they appear in the book but I wish Spielberg hadn't changed the Aliens' homeworld, yes I know our understanding of Mars has come a long way since Wells wrote his book and the 53 verson was made but you could say the Martians were simply living underground. In both versons the fear factor could've been magnified if they never showed us what the Aliens looked like

  • I love how they used to advertise that the latest film is in color. It's just like they do today when advertising the latest film to be in 3D.

  • those ray arms on the top look like street light columns

  • Flying Xbox controllers of doom!!!!

  • The best line in this movie is made by the Mexican guy watching over the "meteor" that landed in the gully with the other 2 White guys at night.

The "meteor" begins to unscrew and a probe comes out of the "meteor".

The White guy gets scared and asks the Mexican guy,"Where do you think they come from?"

The Mexican guy looks at him and says,"How would I know?"

I always laugh when I hear that line in the movie :-)

  • @planetcheck

The line I like comes shortly after that one. The same three guys are trying to figure out what to do next. One asks the other something like, "What should we say to them?" The other guy, very earnestly replies, "Welcome to California!"

  • Now, the question I'm asking ~ to those who've actually watched this WHOLE film ~ is what kind of FIGHTERS and BOMBERS was Hollywood using? Hmmm??? It's STEALTH fighters/bombers, folks. So, in 1953 the Military already HAD this technology and was in cahoots with Hollywood; but WE didn't hear about the technology, until the '70s. Still think we walked on the moon, too?

  • WTF

  • The ships are so awesome and the sound effects are amazing for 1953!I remember seeing this movie when i was a kid.

  • @munster322 i wonder how old are you xD

  • Classic sci fi.

  • It was better than the new one

  • I always liked this version. The alien ships always reminded me of the street lights that were outside my home in Queens, Good stuff.

  • LOL this is rated g

  • in this movie humans kill each other in the new one the aliens are killing the humans

  • i'm suprised it took THIS long for a remake to be made. When you think of all the Alien films in the 80s, ET, Star Wars, Star Trek, Close Encounters..... it seems crazy that nobody ever thought of doing another version before Spielberg

  • Two years in the making? lol these days you can probaly make that in a day?

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • I seen this in the Angry Video Game Nerd's review

  • not bad, old movies are cool :)

  • lol not really the same feeling as in the remake !

  • @EriicTheKing Actually the Spilberg's is much more a reebot than a remake. Yes it has something from this movie like the martian eye thing and the car attack, but it follows more the original book, I read it and the story is about a man who searches for his lost wife during the invasion, the tripods are much more faithful to the book ec...

Overall, I just love this movie as much I love the Spilberg's. They are great in their own way, like Burton's Batman and The Dark Knight.

  • BNP

  • This got an oscar for special effects

  • @obenrob It has memorable special effects except where you can see the wiring holding up the Martian war machines. I always wish George Pal could have done something about that.

  • @cha5 an Oscar is an Oscar

  • @cha5 The wires are harder to see in the trailer since its an print copy done in dye technicolor.

I heard that the wires wern't super visible till they did eastman prints of this film in the 60's

Solution, if you want to perfect such effects back then, you gotta shot in Technicolor and if you don't have the cash to rent a Technicolor camera, you gotta try to get a large studio to hire you and give you enough cash to rent the camera. (Technicolor cameras where not for sale)

  • its funny becuase bombs and other stuff didnt take them down

    but birds did?

  • @1234funnyman1 no bacteries from earth

  • 1:43 he only wanted a hug D:

  • Its actually better than the new one

  • @12poundDump NOT!

  • @12poundDump Far far better. The scene where there waiting to die In the church whilst the ships casually wipe out humanity Is amazing.

  • @12poundDump That 's true ive always loved this movie.

  • @12poundDump Lol nice joke

  • @12poundDump the 2005 war of the worlds film?

  • @12poundDump dumb

  • @12poundDump much better

  • @12poundDump not it is NOT, you are just talking out of your ass!!

  • So old

  • @EpicPiez1 you say it like it is a flaw. It's like if your favourite movie in 2060 will suck because it's old.

  • omg run for you lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Google Hells best kept secret

  • my opinion is that this is the best war of the world movie

  • This is probably one of the best sci-fi movies ever! But, I still wouldn't mind one day a 100% adaptation made. The original time period, horses pulling the armies guns through the country side of England etc!!! The book is so good. I've read it about 20 times in my lifetime. That rubbish with Tom Cruz, Cruise, whatever his name is... that's a s*hit that needs to be erased from the space-time continuum. And minority report. Steven has to stop making crap and go back to basics.

  • It's cool that they used Gene Barry and the actress (I forgot her name) in the New War of the Worlds with Tom Asshole Cruise. At the very end of the movie for anyone out there that didn't know that.Cruises Charactors wifes parents.I bought this DVD(old version) at a supermarket remembering it when I was a child and like Keith20MlRL says,it scared the shit out of me too.I can't wait for Skyline to come out on Blu-ray.

  • WOW!!! I think if I saw that trailer in 1953, that'll would of pump me up to see this film back in the 50's.

  • The acting was kind of over the top, but this was one great movie. Makes the one with Tom Cruise and all of it's effects look stupid. This one had a heart!

  • @Semisweetone

Yeah this is one of the films I remember most as a kid, it , was rereleased to theaters throughout the 50's because it was so popular, I saw it in '59 at the movies.

  • Fallout style.

  • Oh my god it's in color! I HAVE TO SEE THAT!

  • I watched this in the late 80's when I was a kid, it's a good movie despite effects and what not, actually the effects were pretty good for 1953.

  • im 16 i saw this movie when i was 10 and even though today movies have alot better effects and whatever i still reckon this is a good movie but i still enjoyed it.

  • @charlottevictorias oops sorry

  • Nothing like the book. But even though it is 200 years old people still read it. A fantastic story it is.

  • cool

  • cool

  • Damn, this looks intense! I gotta' see this when it comes out!

My WORD, it's even in color...

  • wow compare this to the newer version (2005) just shows how much technology we have now

  • almost all the war of the worlds movies i see they mess up the martians.

  • My teachers gonna let us wach this movie.when he told us all the boys went crazy like he really ment the 2005 version.

  • Plan 9 is better haha:D

  • chalk boards lolol

  • This movie was way ahead of its time for 1950's special effects, sort of like Wizard of Oz when it was made. This movie almost rivals modern effects.

  • Wait? 0:45 , isn't that how you determine Pi in mathmatics?

  • I personally like this version WAY better than the new one. The new one just didn't scare me. The aliens really disappointed me.

I remember when I was really little, I couldn't watch the part where the alien grabs Sylvia's shoulder without hiding my eyes. And to this day, it still makes me jump.

The new movie, not at all.

  • Look out! ITS! ITS PELOSI and she is PISSED!

  • when this movie came out I was about 11 or 12. Anyway, I get a warm & fuzzy feeling about those days of youth.

  • "GUNS, TANKS, BOMBS... THEY'RE LIKE TOYS AGAINST THEM!" and they still are they'll this day.

  • Damn I have to admit it looks pretty cool for being made in 1953.... I only wish we could go back in time and show them what were capable of now...

  • A Si-Fi Classic!

  • i like the new version better

  • I´ve never watched this "1953 version" but I would be very interested in it. Just don´t know how to get it here in my country. I want to see the aliens and tripods. How do they look in this older movie?!

  • i loved h.g well's book, and i used to think spielberg's one was the only war of the worlds movie..i guess i was wrong

  • I think this should be re-made properly, as written by HGWells. It should be set in England, around 1900, and the plot should follow the book exactly. That would make a brilliant film. The Spielberg re-make is ok, but is completely out of context, to appeal to an audience who have never read the novel. All Hollywood screenplays end up being "loosely based" on the original book or story.

  • i love spielberg's version partly because i'm a spielberg fan and in my opinion did a really great job with the final cut of the film. also even though i like spielberg's version, i'd have to say that i actually enjoy the original from 1953 more than spielberg's version. it was really great. i love the old technology back then and i think it has a better plot and visuals than in spielberg's version. it's an instant classic!!!!!!!!

  • lol its an Georgio Armani Helmet

  • does anyone have the whole movie to post?

  • Best of them all this film.

  • It's kinda weird watching this trailer with this narorater talking, but i gotta say. To be 1953 it looks pretty good :)

  • Anyone remember the scene where the A-bomb is detonated and they are covered with dust? Hilarious what people didn't know in those days.

  • @patrickthesaint haha yeah the 50s were a pretty raw time, they seemed to use nukes a lot in movies and in really populated areas that in reality would have completely devastated and radioactively contaminated...gotta love gung-ho 50s movies lol

  • Yay! 20th century rocks! I'm a 90's kid!

we now live in the 21st century boring!

  • @jdbubby96 I dont blame you 4 hating the iPad.

  • @brutaka359 what's a ipad? A big fricking ipod with a bilt-in computer?

  • 0:28 best part. LOL is that like a miniature model?

  • Love this movie! ...and of course this movie benefited greatly from thewonderful stock footage from Northrop of the magnificent YB49 flying wing. Possibly the most beautiful aircraft ever to take to the skies.

  • I love this movie. It is classic fifties sci-fi at its best. This is my second favorite movie of all time. My FAVORITE movie of all time, another sci-fi classic is "The Time Machine" (1960 version of course).
