  • His parents... talk about BORING! They are about as exciting as pair of dead moths!

  • I really would like to be proposed to like that or in a similar fashion it's so beautiful and intimate. :)

  • Does she need more lights? lol

  • john corbette !!!

  • Armenians aren't as culturally centered, for example we don't open businesses dedicated to Armenian cuisine or travel. We are proud, but we aren't to the point where it is a disgrace to marry outside the heritage. We also usually have more intellectual conversations (those of us who aren't in California)

  • Armenians and greeks are soo much alike that the miller parents got them mixed up -333

  • YES!!! She is definitely greek!!! Go on him

  • ...how do you confuse Greek with Armenian with Guatemalan? Confused...Nice job Mr. and Mrs. Miller.

  • Her dad is so adorable!

  • Love how the sound is out, it's like it's a Greek film that's been badly dubbed

  • Of course!!! Plastic sheets over the couch :) memories..........

  • the father's got some serious issues.

  • "Why do you love me?" "Because I came alive when I met you." Perhaps if my ex had said this when I asked the same thing, we might still be together. Well that, and if my ex wasn't the anti-Christ. But I digress.... A grown man half-naked in a kiddie pool in a church in front of strangers...that, my friends, is either a fool or a man in love. Actually, they're the same thing, so nvm. Mmmm...John Corbet...That is one sexy piece of man right there...

  • Guatemalen! xaxaxa

  • Aww. she's so insecure. =[

  • Greeks marry others as well especially the younger generation. Pretty sure it is same with most cultures where some parents are more old fashioned and want their kids to marry their own kind. Most of my cousins married non-Greeks, Italians for the majority, basically mostly European since similar family structures, culture and Christian religion for the sake of having kids and taking them to church to listen to a priest's midieval philosophy and buying x- mas gifts for everyone.

  • i dont understand why its wrong for greeks to marry non-greeks....same with african amercians cant marry whites......i just dont understand.

  • LOL niki will be the godmother

  • χαχχα που τους βρήκαν όλου αυτούς τους χλιμίντζουρες για προξενειό? Ούτε στην Τρούμπα δεν βρίσκεις πλέον τέτοιους χχαχαχαχ

  • why would he ring the doorbell if its his own house?

  • @pinkvpink93 it's his parents house.

  • My family and I were laughing so hard when he got Greeks and Armenians mixed up. We're armenian and people always ask us if we're greeks :P

  • i think they were trying to make greeks look SUPER foreign, when in reality, greeks are pretty well known, there's alot of greeks in the US.

  • really dont get what the big deal is...she is 30 years old...move out your parents house and make your own decision...alot of couples have family that dont agree with decisions one makes...thats just life...not all that big of a deal.

  • @studiousangel It's a romance movie, get over it.

  • @BananaWonYoo well the concept is too general and boring. love the characters but I would rate this very low. I have seen better

  • People, catholism is not Christianity. Don't Catholics believe in praying the Virgin Mary? Christians believe in worshipping and praying our one and only Lord.

  • @elvaelvirababe I hope this helps answer your question. The Catholic Church was the 1st & only branch of Christianity until Martin Luther broke away from the church & started his own branch of Christianity; so Catholism is just 1 denomonation of many under the umberlla of Christianity. Catholics don't worship Mary, they honor her 4 being Jesus' mother & occasionally pray 4 her inntercesion which is asking 4 her 2 ask God using her influence as Jesus' mother 2 get our prayers ansewered :)

  • @strawberrygarden713 No u are wrong... Judaism was the truth relligion... After jesus came they dont accept him.. Then the ones who believed on him are the first christians... read the bible...

  • @elvaelvirababe My friend don't get me started. Catholics and Orthodox venerate Mary because that is what the ancient Christians did. Do your history. She is not only the Mother of God but Humanity's Mother. and is the highest of the saints because she bore Christ.

  • 3:38 man boobs :P

  • her dad looks so precious!

  • @AznChick4 He does look precious ! :D And ADORABLE <333

  • "Tula, now thats not a name you hear very often, does it mean anything in your language?" " well my greek name..." "oh, WOULD YOU LIKE ANY COFEE?!

  • Poor lamp.

  • Awwwww X3 he looks so adorable at 2:48 when he says "I love you" to Tula :D

  • Eww all those old ass men they had over for dinner! they old enough to be her dad & they all ugly ass hell !! lol Aiden (name from sex & the city) is gorgeous !!

  • I think it's AWFUL that families get involved and put so much pressure, guilt & exert so much unwanted influence in situations like this. Believe me, I know from experience! My marriage was strained from day one and it ended in failure due in no small part to family influence on both mine & my ex's side. I'm absolutely ashamed & disgusted for the way my family behaved!

  • can someone find me a Greek guy I wana marry a Greek I love u Greeks :)

  • Tulas dad is so cute! U know old man cute!

  • O_o......the... last..... one... was sooooooo gross XD omg i almost died laughing

  • Why do all the guys she getting set up with look soooo...... wrong?

  • LOL the dad is a crack up

  • My ex-boyfriend's parents refused to acknowledge me even look at me. I'm Korean They said heaven forbid the two of them get married & have kids; they might look like her.

  • I'm Armenian, REPRESENT.

  • armenia is the oldest culture in the world. wtf is that fucking greek bitch talking about ''is armenia considered greek'' armenia is the best! GREECE IS ARMENIAN

  • @Nickname997 what? no. chinese is the oldest

  • @Nickname997 AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I CANT STOP LAUGHING!!!! thank you!! culture in Armenia! when i had culture you were hanging from the trees! even the name of your country is Greek! search about your country name and you'll see what does it mean! Greece is Armenian!!! AHAHAHA you have good humour in Armenia!

  • @ToonArmyGreece Yes the word Armenia comes from Greek and some what Persian, but Armenia is what others call us, Armenians call themselves Hay and Armenia Hayastan...in the same sense we Armenians call Greeks ''Huyn".

Armenians and Greeks both are very old nations, no one can really tell which one is the oldest, I personally have a lot of respect towards Greeks because we both have a lot of similarities: like Religion "Orthodox" and we both hate Turks for taking our lands.

  • @arammasiv23 so? you call yourselves Hay and Greeks Huyn... and Turks call us Yunan or something like that... whats your point? how do you calculate who is oldest? i think it's with... who was civilized first! if your country was founded when humans were still in Amoeba or lizard or ape form you can call your country older? + i dont believe in god and fairytales and i respect humans when they did something in this world... no matter their nationality!

  • @arammasiv23 oh and i forgot... i have nothing against Armenia... i said what i said cause of that.... Greece is Armenian thing... maybe my country now is a big failure but if you gather all the history of the other 256 nations... they cant reach Greek history not even in the 50% and i am damn proud of it... they even trying to steal our history with the Macedonia thing...Macedonia is was and will always be Greek

  • @ToonArmyGreece and i have nothing against you Greeks, I respect your history very much, i just wanted to mention that our history is very old also.

  • does anyone have a delay of picture and of speech

  • @newparis01 well now that you've said something....sigh.

  • Is Armenia close to Greece...? Oh, she was Guatemalan! OMG, such knowledge in geography...

  • 0:06-0:13 damn...

  • Ewww. I can't stand stand Ian's mom. "Thats not a name you hear every day. Does it mean anything in YOUR language?" You mean, Greek?

  • Interesting how this movie stereotypes Greeks as proud (well they should be, their ancient ancestors were among the most intelligent) and religious and extraverted. And the Americans are stereotyped as "psht whatever," culturally unaware, and knowing little about geography.

  • I love this movie! And I love how she finally gets up after all those duds! She's like "WTF is my dad thinking?"

  • The pool part is funny

  • father: nikki is going to be your godmother

He looks at nikki while she fixing her boobs LMAO

  • Comment removed

  • I love the father lmfao

  • 2:20 LOL!!!!!!

  • Armenia really ain't that far from Greece. Only Turkey separates them by 1200 miles. In the grand scheme of things it really isn't that far.

  • @mjg032 Guatemala on the other hand...........

  • Nikki was playing her boobs

  • Nikki is going to be your godmother

  • i hate Toula's father

  • i like Toula and Ian's parents

  • lol 0:13 xDDD

  • lol I feel bad for the furniture when she jumps on it :D

  • I'm 26 and my grandmother told me I was an old hag cause I'm not married..that was cold really cold...

  • Guatemala isn't even CLOSE to Greece!

  • WOW. Geography fail... confusing Armenia and Guatemala.

  • @da0217

    hahaha XP

  • @da0217

actually, it was an enthnicity fail. it was an error of observation, not geography.

  • @raigekimaru Oh that's right, because ethnicity has nothing to do with geography.

  • @da0217

she confused the woman's appearence and/or got the words guatamalan/armenian mixed up. there was no incorrect geographical information stated. a geography fail would be saying something like "guatamala is close to greece" or "salsa dancing is common in armenia"

to answer your question though, somewhat. for instance a failure in ethnicity AND geography would be to say something like "gypsies are native to armenia"

PS: nothing personal, I'm just bored =P

  • @raigekimaru Lol. Same here. "Guatemala is close to Greece"- yes, geography fail. "Salsa dancing is common in Armenia"-ethnicity fail, because dancing singing, etc. has more to do with ethnicity/culture than physical geography.

Either way, ethnicity is defined by geography, hence the geographical names of countries when describing ethnicity, e.i. Armenian, Greek, Guatemalan. Can't really separate the two.

  • Damn, Ian's parents seem really nice but come on, shes Greek, not a freakin alien! xD

  • @hauntedmythcaves hahahah it reminds me of my boyfriend's parents. I am french canadian and my boyfriend is american and the first time I met them they were asking me these weird questions about my language and my background :P It was pretty funny!

  • I love the fact that not only Toula has to go through all the hassle of the "potential husbands" but her brother as well. He feels her pain! What a nice brother.

  • LOL! Love how she tackled poor Ian in his apartment- poor Ian :P jks. They're so cute together :D

  • ENOUGH .....ENOUGH!

  • why in the hell is there a debate on christianity on a clip of My Big Fat Greek Wedding?

  • @BlindMansEye because stupidity is something invincible :)

  • Hahahahaa look at the tub he gets baptized in XD hahahaha can't stop laughing

  • The dad's talking about Greek heritage when he upholds Christianity, a religion and a people who hated the Greeks and slaughtered countless Greeks who refused to become Christian. They hated the Greek religion and their culture.

  • @PriestChristopher : Is it at all possible that you've confused Christians with their opposite counterparts? Is that possible? The family portrayed here is very much like the Fockers and the Royal Tenenbaums.

  • @buzzclick500 no this is greek family.i m from greece listen to me my friend.

  • @byehoney1 : Well, of COURSE you're not going to agree with ME, after all, I'm just a stupid American, RIGHT? Makes perfect sense. ;])

  • @PriestChristopher what re u saying?????greeks worshipped the dodekatheo at first but then they became christians.christianity helped us when we had wars wars with turks and germans.u don t know anything about our culture.i m in the philosophy school.i m sorry i m too harsh but u take our history and make movies that don t even match to our history.troy,300,odysseus.

  • @byehoney1. Dude, when Greece was Polytheistic, that was when there were battles won that determined the fate of Greece. Greece won her greatest victories then. I can tell you don't know your own history. Christianity was forced on your people. I am not overly enthused with the depictions Hollywood gives Greek history or religion either, but the facts still remain. Study up on your history before you try to argue it.

  • @PriestChristopher i m telling u about the middle ages and the battles in world war 2.these were also great victories.yes they were battles when we were polytheists that determined fate of grrece.i know that since i was in school from 12 years old.i study history all of my life.how nany centuries were we polytheists??answer me that.i m not relating the religion with the policy.here is some history and facts

  • @PriestChristopher i m not dude.i study history all of my life.yes they were battles that determined fate of greece.if u see well what i m writing i m talking about world war 2 and the middle ages.u should study some history.i just heard from u that we were polytheists when we had battles with ottoman empire.lol....:)...:)....these re the periods.ancient times, byzantium in middle ages and modern greek.thses are facts.

  • @PriestChristopher whAt???????the greeks worshipped the dodekatheo at first but when apostolous pavlos came and other things happened we became christians.christianity helped us with so man wars, wars with turks and germans who claimed to be christians even though they killed everybody.i m in thephilosophy school.sorry i m too harsh but u don t know anything about our history or culture.u take our history and make movies that don t even match to our history.troy,odysseus.greece,christianity same

  • @byehoney1. And Christianity did not help Greece defeat the Ottoman Empire, the Gods along with the will and determination of the Greeks to be free is what won the war. If Christianity is the answer to Greece's problems, why is the Greek economy so bad? The Greeks did not turn to Christianity, it was forced on many of them with murder and violence. Where are you learning your history from, the Orthodox Church?

  • @PriestChristopher : Christiinsanity never helped anybody with anything. It's just another corrupt business. It has nothing to do with what Christ teaches us. It's the epitome of false advertising.

  • @buzzclick500 i m not saying that christianity will save us now.i m not even going to church, but before blaiming us about our economy, that we don t know history and telling that macedonia is not greek and that we re ethnocentric see what u have done to us and all the nations in the world.a grrek soldier in the battles never went to house and raped women and kill people without being in self defence but u kill people.look at urselves first.we re the worst of the nations, but america is not better

  • @buzzclick500 i m not saying that christianity will save us now.i m not even going to church, but before blaiming us about our economy, that we don t know history and telling that macedonia is not greek and that we re ethnocentric see what u have done to us and all the nations in the world.a grrek soldier in the battles never went to house and raped women and kill people without being in self defence, because we have filotimo.we re the worse of the nations, but america is not better the landof freed

  • @byehoney1 : You realize by now, of course, that you have me completely confused with someone else whom you're conversing with... ;])

  • @PriestChristopher i don t relate my history to orthodoxy.i m not telling u this.i only say that faith gave us strenght.yes our economy is bad and that s our fault nad we don t turn to christianity or believe that christianity will help us but u talk to me.america is like todays nazi.obama is like hitler and not only obama, all ur policies.u kill people.gods helped us to won the war?well the alosis of constantinoupolis was in 1453i n the middle ages and the gods worshipped in ancient years.lol

  • @byehoney1. America is like Nazi Germany alright, here you can believe what you want whereas there was a time not long ago in Greece when the Christian government jailed people for worshiping the Greek Gods, and long before that, the Christians murdered people for it in Greece. I think your Christianity is like Hitler myself. America is nothing like a Nazi place. And I don't like the way our government and army bullies people either, you blame me when I have nothing to do with any of that. cont.

  • @PriestChristopher i not taking the side of christianity.i agrre with what u re saying that the christian goverment jailed people.i m saying something else.america is not like nazi place?????????lol.all europe believes that.not only greece.i m not blaiming u personally.but u tell our ecomomy is bad and that christianity will save us with irony.that s why i said these things.before using irony don t tell me not to say all these.i m not talking about bad christian people with authority.

  • @PriestChristopher the catholic church imprisoned people, catholisism is not christian. it is a pagan, man made religion. it was made up by the romans to persecute true Christians, followers of Jesus Christ. They made the catholic church because they could not get rid of the believers. That is where the queen virgin mary comes from. no where in the bible does it say to worship the human mother of Jesus or that she was born sinless. If that were the case, we wouldn't need Jesus as the Massiah.

  • @axf48529 Protestants also murdered people for not being Christian. It's not just something Catholics did. Catholics are the original Christians. Without them, there would have been no Bible. They spread Christianity throughout Europe. They were not Pagans. Why would they uproot and overthrown the religion they were apart of? Don't be ridiculous. Catholics did not persecute Christians. They ARE Christians. They believe Jesus is their lord and savior, they believe in the same God you do.

  • Comment removed

  • @axf48529 Secondly, you don't need Jesus, and neither does anyone else, because you are not damned. You are a blessed creation of the Gods. There is no boogeyman with horns and a hayfork to be saved from. That's a school child scare tactic to get you to follow the Bible and the Church. It's absolutely ridiculous to say that a God would have to sacrifice himself to himself in order to appease himself.

  • @PriestChristopher umm correction , we do need Jesus .

  • @daisy3098 yeah!! AMEN!!!

  • @daisy3098 well wat if im not religious?

  • You respect his mother. He loves his very much. But, he does ask of us to respect her. So please respect his mother. If you love Jesus. You have to also love his mother. Like your mother.

  • @byehoney1. The greatest ages of Greece were when she was Polytheistic and looked to the Gods for guidance. Marathon, Thermopylae, the Conquests of Alexander the Great and the Hellenistic Age, and so on. I'm not saying that everything was always 100% awesome, but it was certainly much better than now in Greece. If you honor your Greek history and heritage, you should be upset with the Christian Church. They came into Greece and robbed, ransacked and murdered, to destroy your culture.

  • @PriestChristopher i know all these. i m not saying that things are better now.things re worse.i m telling u what happened that faith saved us some times, like in the stasi of nika.i m not talking about only ancient times.u ve misunderstood me.i don t believe in bad christian people who have authority.i don t believe that either.i know.but greece didnt robbed, ransacked and murdered in only these times u re saying but all the times, even nowadays.

  • @PriestChristopher i m saying thAt christianity gave us faith.when we had battles with ottoman empire we weren t polytheists this is in ancient times..x.axaxaxa.lol.i m not learning history from the orthodox church, but i study history in philosophy school.i know what y re syaing from school since i was 12.yes our economy is bad and that s our fault.did i tell u that christianity will save?i don t believe that either.i m telling u the facts.before blaiming us see urselves.u re like todays nazi

  • love this movie :D the whole family rocks :D

  • i like the plastic wrap on the coach ahahah :)

  • 0:38 LOOKS LIKE A TURK

  • @Smileygirlz25 That was part of the joke. That she was so ignorant as to think that Armenians and Guatemalans are essentially the same.

  • you had a greek reseptionist? No she was armenian ... no guadomalo. LOL i'm armo so that was weird.

  • Seriously, do they really dunk people in a kiddy pool to baptize them?

  • @islandsylph idont think so. im thinking they dd it this way bc the dad said they baptize babies in a silver bowl or something. well hes a bit to big to be dunked in a bowl soo....

  • @islandsylph No, they have larger chambers specifically for adult baptisms.

  • lol 4:30 they still have the plastic on their couch

  • @arusyonok Oh She was Armeniannnnnnnnnnn lol

They dont understand how close Armenians and Greeks are lol

  • aaww, when he looked up with those eyes and said " i love you" i nearly died. swoon.

  • Im not Greek.... My mom is Albanian my dad is Bosnian and I was raised in Montenegro ( which is right on the Mediterranean ) and they remind me so much of my culture. My sister actually married a Greek and that was one crazy European wedding she had. Two crazy cultures mixed together = fun and <3 ... oh and lots of yummy food :)

  • @TheCrazypumpum so where are you from?, albaniabosnianmontenegroan

  • @donmacish lol i know its complicated but its just former Yugoslavia.. a lot of people are mixed... not too un common :)

  • the fathers " friends" make me die of laughter hahaha i dont kno which one is worst.

  • "How can zey do dis to me?!"

  • "How can zey do dis to me?!

  • Shows the contrast of english culture and how dry it is compared with other cultures in the world lollz.

  • OH that little baptismal baisin is SO bad. Ha ha ha!!!

  • I really love Toulas Mum... "Don't you walk away from me.. sit'a!"

  • OMG Ian's parents are sooooo whitebread. And I'm definitely whitebread.

  • i love these arranged dinners LOL

  • His parents are so freaky,it kinda feels like an interrogation, I don't think Jack Bauer could have done any worse.

  • Go Toula, go! Whoot whoot. I love this scene. When she pounced on him and he was just startled. And then the lamp breaking. LMAO. I love this movie, I'm not Greek, but I relate to this movie big time. I'm still shocked it didn't get more fame, this is one of the best Cinema ever offered. I swear Hollywood's forgetting that simple, funny, and relatable is enough.

  • 2:12, she was Guatemalan!! hahahaha yes!! mi novia es de Guatemala!! ;D

  • these white people are soo ignorant..lolz

  • Haha the priest calls him Ioannis instead of Ian. so typical

  • I LOVE the mother in this movie! Shes amazing and so wise :)

  • The father is so cute! When he's just sitting there in the dark looking sad, I want to give him a hug!

  • @RustedHatter Which gather? Tula's Or Ian's because the latter also looked sad while He was siting in His Dark Dining room.

  • lol...she is so confused and flabbergasted with the types of men her father is bringing to the dinner table.

It's always ridiculous when parents try to play matchmaker in their children's lives.

As if their grown children don't know what they are trying to do!

  • Can't get enough of this movie

    Xxx from Holland

  • OMG ...I came alive when I met you....that is such a beautiful line...I mlove it!!!!!!!!

  • AHAHAHAHA 100% what happened to me when I was in USA as Slovenian,... xD

  • @int1901...so what happened? You met an American dude that your parents did not accept? They wanted Slovenian?

  • @kaluski no, not that,... :) listen from 1:45 on,... it is just how Americans never have any idea about anything, so they always try nicely conversation, and with mixing up the countries, and is just funny,.. haha,.. for them I was russian, serbian, yugoslavian, italan, you name it,.. haha

  • 2:10 hilarious

  • OMG I want that MAN!

  • 0:36 hey, thats ME !!!

  • hahaha we armenian are so simelair so i watch this whole movie thousend times its typical my family our tradition our grandmom filty turk ahhaha ilove this movie

  • @AllochGs...i think every culture is like this really. Parents wish and want their children to marry within their own cultural heritage. So it's not peculiar to Greeks.

I think America is probably the country that has the most cross marriages of it's people because of its makeup of immigrants from all places. I think East Indians are the worst. East Indians generally refuse to open up to marry outside their confines.

  • @kaluski realy when i watch this i feel totaly home believe me this also so armenian to when i saw those wedding when they where making those white thinks for to dream of your fhutere wife things dance music the love for family frends partys and that the father is saying greek greek greek and espacily the grandmother is soooo armenian when she says you filty turk thats so armenian

  • Her father sitting sad on the sofa looks like my dad after my first night beeing not at home.

  • @arusyonok You are seriously a froot loop with an exclamation point issue.

  • This type of man doesn't exist anymore. WOW! He is incredible.

  • @1024SueNelson im right here!
