  • this is wonderful! than for makin it:)

  • Great Doctor, Great Group, Great Era!

  • absolutely brilliant vid and the song suits him right down to the ground :)<3

one thing... what was up with his thumbs at the end? 0_o

  • It is a shame and a disgrace that so many of Patrick Troughton's episodes are missing. What we need, is a high-profile media campaign to recover the lost episodes which someone must have given house-room too. Yes, many are lost forever, but there must be some more out there.

  • It'd be better if there were subtitles saying what he's saying sometimes because some of his best lines are spoken. For example - when they're on the apron at Gatwick Airport and the Policeman sees them all he can think to say is : "Scatter!"

  • yeah yeah yeah this is real fun esspecially the end with Pat doint the thumbs up himself i was there inthe 1960's and can still recall how much real fun we had way bfore the internet ever exsisted we had to go out and do our w own stuff make our own fun but this kind of stuff sure did help ah to go back there and to relive it again how i want to do that ah well great job i had to lauhg along wiht this one

  • Hmmmm...what if the Doctor traveled with Victoria...and Zoe? :)

  • Bbc should be hung for destroying almost all of the Troughton era!!!!My fav doctor,& theres a small handful of his work left!!!

  • @rebelrecording The BBC had no option. Even if they could afford to keep them, the actor's union Equity still stated that they had to be destroyed.

Anyway, the BBC could see no further use for these episodes at the time. There were no home VCRs and no-one thought there would be.

  • @AidanLunn And if someone had a TARDIS.... :) Anything to save these episodes..

  • brilliant :)

  • Great video! bringing together my two most favorite things, Doctor Who and the Beatles!

  • Great stuff! The Mighty Trout is the best Doctor.

  • Yay, that was great!

  • nice 1 m8 .very original ..!!!!!! you have done a good en ..

  • I love this. Five stars.

  • Very well done.

  • My favourite Doctor and the only one worth watching!

  • R.I.P Patrick!

  • Obviously this is not the album version of A Hard Days Night. Were is it from? Is it from the Anthology album?

  • Totally brilliant video. You've done a wonderful job matching up the pics with the lyrics. Super great footage and a really great song. Thank you for giving us Patrick in grand fashion.

  • @TardisKitten I agree, TK. Brilliant vid.

  • Secretivebus? Do I not know you?

  • Splendid vid! Very creative...and surprisingly fitting :)

  • Spot on.

  • Well done Secretive Bus, and thanks for not "squashing any of my Beatles" *grins*

  • This is extremely well edited. It captures both the spirit of the Patrick Troughton era as well as the stylistic spirit of the film "A Hard Day's Night". Brilliant. :)

  • Totally awesome!

  • Patrick Troughton is my 3rd favorite Doctor of all and I just love mixing Beatles music with Doctor Who so I love you video (I usually mix Beatles music with the 4th Doctor though because he's my favorite)

  • What's the clip with Troughton with his thumbs up from?

  • That's from an interview on a show called Pebble Mill at One, a popular lunchtime chatshow in the 70s and 80s, presented from the BBC's Pebble Mill studios in Birmingham. I think he was interviewed as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of Doctor Who and the full interview is available on The Three Doctors (1972) DVD

  • Thanks

  • Who was that doing the song? It wasn't the standard version that's for sure. Can we expect a Pertwee tribute any time soon?

  • It's sung by the Beatles, for sure. But I think this is a live version. However, it is very nice. Beatles and Doctor Who are both made of awesome.

  • Not a live version, just a different take of it in the studio - one in which John loses it but keeps going. Really unusual but excellent choice of music as it suits the more comedic style of the clips. Great video!

  • They didn't make such a cool "brrrrring" at the beginning on that one!

  • Troughton for president.

  • Troughton love.

  • This video is genius and makes me want to watch all of Patrick Troughton's stories.

  • That is quality! Patrick Troughton is the best Doctor with his companion Jamie!

  • Pat definately had the best companions, Jamie and Zoe made the end of his era just perfect. I'm probably this vid's number 1 fan! LOVE IT!

  • The Beatles and Doctor Who = my two favourite things of all time. Therefore, this was absolutely brilliant! :-D

  • I SECOND THIS COMMENT. *many thumbs up*

  • haha i loved it :)nice version of the song too :)

  • my fave doctor of all tiime!!!

  • Terrific writing.

    "Is it safe?"

"Oh, I shouldn't think so for a moment."

  • Wonderful. Simply wonderful!

  • my fav. pat troughton video! well done!

  • You've done a lovely job here, this really made me smile. :)

  • It's great! It's funny! I love it.

  • Thanks for posting this,I live in hope they'll find some missing stories, particulary thePat Troughton stories.

  • very funny

  • Most Excellent! And What Fun! Those heady days of the Sixties! Most Importantly a fitting Tribute to a Great Actor. Well Done

  • Saving the universe never looked so fun!

  • I like how some clips are sped up, making Pat race around like the silly little kid he is.

  • Will somebody please explain what's up with the foam? What is it supposed to be, and why is he so afraid of it?

  • It's a clip from a lost epsiode that the BBC destory back in the 1970's. It's one of the few clips that surive from that lost epsiode of Patrick Troughton.

  • The Seeds of Death is lost? That's odd because me and my sis watched the whole thing this week.

  • It's a clip from the episode, The Seeds of Death, however unlike WarshipAngelus said, that serial is infact complete and available to buy on DVD!

SPOILER! - The foam (a fungus to be exact) sucks oxygen from the air if I remember correctly, the Ice Warriors use it in an attempt to make the Earth's atmosphere more like Mars

  • This is amazing. Great choice of music, impecable timing, and of course, the best Doctor! I implore you to do more! Please!

  • Is it safe. - Ooh, i shouldn´t think so for a moment.

    A nother star quip.

  • LOL! That's awesome! Nice job.

  • That was a really good video, and I am even more pleased knowing that No Giddy Aunts were hurt.

  • fantastic

  • So far one of my three favouret Doctors - Patrick is. This video made me laugh.

  • brillent pat is just a brillent dr

  • brilliant! 5/5

  • Sorry if I asked before, but why did you use an outtake instead of the real thing?

  • You mean Troughton doing the thumbs up at the end? I just thought it looked fun, really...

  • No, I meant why you used an outtake of A Hard Day's Night. That's the Anthology version, I believe?

  • I'm afraid I'm not really up on my Beatles, and when I *cough cough* downloaded the track *cough cough* I didn't know it was an alternative version of the proper song!

  • Really?? They make a vocal fluff towards the end, that woulda never come out! :-)

  • @secretivebus don't worry, I did the same thing myself when I first got into the Beatles recently. :D It's still a great video

  • oooh oooh I think I know this one. Beacuse he wanted to use it!!! LOL =) Wonderful video!

  • the bandana scene is from "the underwater menace" when the doctor disguises himself as a gypsy soothsayer in order to catch the bad guy

(and if anyone knows where i can watch a recon of this serial, please please tell me!!)

  • This is so, so great! Please make more!

  • Yes, the bandana and shades... can you elucidate?

  • My favorite Doctor. :) Great job. Great song too.

  • Wow, impressive! Great editing, synching, everything!

  • that version of the song is the best

  • ...How did you stub your toe? I had to ask

  • PT is my favourite Doctor!

Well done this video is fantastic!

  • it from the antholigy

  • LMAO! Fantastic fun! This is how to do a Who music video properly!!

  • SecretiveBus, man, you're my all time favorite Doctor Who geek. (I mean this as a compliment.) Excellent job here, as always - but what's with Troughton's thumb at the end there?

  • Patrick Troughton is my least favorite doctor, but this songvid makes me want to see his eps again and rethink things. :)

  • I love that high speed Ice Warrior chase. And why on earth the Doctor wears a bandana??

  • Zoe's got a cute butt

  • Gotta love the dancing ice warrior and Troughton in shades and a bandana!

  • LOL I love the very end of the credits. I really did laugh out loud.

  • This is a great Troughton and Beatles vid - old school lives. :)

  • the music fits the era so well. nice job! :D

  • Love it!

  • Awesome! Troughton and the Beatles forever!!!

  • Magnifique!! Love it!

    ~SoulRythm~

  • Great stuff. My favourite Doctor, and a version of A Hard Days Night I haven't heard before.
