  • One of my Mom's favorite songs. I loved hearing it when I was little.

  • My grandad used to put this record on and just sit and listen. Reminds me of him. I love this song.

  • actually, Floyd Cramer played on Elvis' "Heartbreak Hotel" in the 1950's when he was a studio musician. You can hear a bit of his style in the piano solo halfway throught the song! Unfortunately, cancer took Floyd away Dec. 31, 1997. He is greatly missed by fans all over the world.

  • Miss my dad. He loved this man.

  • THIS IS THE LAST SONG JFK LISTENED TO BEFORE HE WAS KILLED

  • @allenwood100 Really? first song i learned on piano wow

  • One of Elvis's favorite musicians...

  • My mother played this record a lot ,christ it was depressing! no offense floyd!

  • My Mom always used top play this song and now I do too My grandparents heard this when they were dating they said. I'm only 14 and I love this kind of music

  • Love this song! Brings back such wonderful memories!

  • I get chills every time I hear this song.. It will always be one of my favorites..It was the best of times and the worst of times .. in 1965 ..Kenneth. I think of you when ever I hear it. I will never forget you. I never said it .. but I loved you so!! I had to walk away.. Just wasn't meant to be.

  • @uptownana What a poignant story, you must have really loved him to make a comment like that. I hope that you found happiness later in your life.

  • I first heard this when visiting Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA. The music was coming from a music shop, we went in and I've never forgotten that day or this song!

  • WONDERFUL! Brings back a lot of memories...I had a 'last date' .. Sept. 1965.)

  • @stupidshitsucks Me too in 1965.. don't remember the month, though ! One of the hardest thing I ever did , at age 17.. saying good bye to someone I loved but knew it would never last. I wore out my 45 rpm LAST DATE !!!!

  • The song "The Last Date" was written as a piano solo by Folyd Cramer!!! The song was so melodic and wonderful - several people added word and recorded THEIR version of it. Originally - there were no words - and that is as it should be!!! Adding words is like putting a dress on Michalengelo's David!!!! The words to "The Last Date" are in your head - when you went on that last date with one that you cared for. Find YOUR words!!!!

  • I grew up with my dad listening to this song and loved it. If you like the piano solo you should listen to Conway Twitty singing this also!! LOVE IT

  • Last Date was recorded w/ vocals by both

Pat Boone and Kay Starr. For some reason,

    both singers used different lyrics.

Anyway, been a favorite of mine for about

    half a century.

    Tx 4 the post.
