1:30 LOVE that they put that in the movie "factory girl." i mean sure they didn't use the real footage, as to be expected, but i love that they had sienna miller reenact this scene.
This video is actually kind of making me emotional. it's so surreal to just watch the morning routine of someone who's no longer with us, to just watch her self destruct while already knowing what her fate is.
I'd love to see some footage of this in the movie Factory Girl, it would show the stark difference of Sienna and Edie, not only in their appearance, but they are opposite in their movements and to say that Edie is more composed is a understatement. She could trip and fall flat on her face and be more composed than Sienna. Just b/c she was on speed, people forget all the downers she took, she moved, spoke, & danced quite slowly & deliberately.
We can speculate, timeline: Dec 64 Edie meets Dylan & Neuwirth, Nov 65 Dylan secretly marries Sara Lownds, Late Dec 65 Edie begins a relationship w/John Cale that lasts about a month, Feb '66 Andy tells Edie that Dylan is married & she turns white (according to all the people at the Gingerman that night), suggesting that perhaps Dylan hasn't been completely honest w/Edie. These are the facts.
She referred to Bob Neuwirth as the love of her life. The movie couldn't be more inaccurate. She met Dylan long before she met Warhol. There is a implied relationship between Dylan & Edie before she became involved w/Neuwirth, who was Dylan's best friend/right hand man. The relationship was secret, so no one knows the actual extent of it, however, it is clear that Dylan drew strongly from Edie when writing Blond on Blond, although he was secretly married to Sara Lownds
@SUNMAYDEN518 Maybe. Did you know Roman Polanski wanted Tuesday Weld to play the leading role in Rosemary's Baby? In my alternate universe, Edie got that part, not Mia Farrow, and also replaced Jane Fonda in Barbarella. Oh, and she was also in Polanski's Repulsion before that, not Catherine Deneuve, and she also got the lead in Cul-de-Sac, not Catherine's sister, the lovely Françoise Dorléac, though all love all the others to death, and my wishes are more like silly jokes.
the truth is---none of us were there or even alive at the time so who can really attest to what was fictionalized and what was dramaticized. there are however several historical clues that might cause one to speculate as to the nature of the relatuionship between Dylan and Sedgewick
@ero120 - Just 'cause some Hollywood movie implies a romantic relationship between Dylan and La Sedgwick, you assume it to be true? Now Bob NEUWORTH, a member of the Dylan camp, that's another story...
She may have had a relationship with Dylan in 65 before she hooked up with his best friend in 66. It is not certain how deep or involved she was. I guess it's none of our business but it may provide some context to her artistic creations
With her hair teased up like that she reminds me of someone from Marie Antoinette. i can see in her in a big crinoline and corset with fake birds adorning her silver-powdered hair
yeah yeah bob dylan on the background!!:) and second time, i think joan baez covers that song ;) thanks for sharing :) I think Edie was really a poor little girl :( trapped in the cage!

What does Chuck say about the white dress? That makes Edie laugh.
I hear punerary or something but thats not a word.
falconfanatic77 2 years ago
He jokingly says it looks "very funerary" (because of Edie attending a memorial dinner for her brother).
