  • This car is beautiful! Now, lose the huge, stupid rims, and get some nice meaty drag radial tires (street) or slicks (for the track), so that the car can hook up without spinning itself to death and you'll see what it can REALLY do! I truly love your car, I'm sorry to sound like a prick and I expect you to be pissed at me. But really man, those rims DO NOT help performance. If this really was an "easy launch", that amount of wheel spin is sad. You've spent a lot of money, so help the car run. :)

  • How much was this setup?

  • fucking amazing!!!

  • Im a Chevy guy, but I would love to have a challenger!

  • may be the slowest and most expensive of the big muscle cars being sold today....but you can add sexiest and most likely to be bought by myself to that list.

  • @rtfk101 its the only one out of the 3 still classed as "muscle" the camaro and stang are classed as sports cars now. go chally!

  • @TJDeadkid

Um, no the Camaro and Stang, and even the Challenger are PONY cars. You need to go figure out exactly what muscle cars are.

  • Clean her!

  • MEAN

  • @twinturbo460 OEM's doing it, the Caddy like you mentioned have it (SC wise) saab has always done it, bmw is doing it (twin turbo @ that) , I could keep going but you get the point.

  • one word (fabolous)

  • do u have a blow off valve ?? btw what turbo system and how can i change the sound of my turbos wistle?

  • Some crazy lag there... What's 500HP, you can get more than that in a Cadillac and won't have to listen to the whizzer whistle sound. If this is such a great idea why don't you see any OEMs doing it?

  • @twinturbo460 Crazy lag? You can hear the turbo when he launched. Lag would be if you rolled on from 1.5k, but with a giant V8 you would barely notice. This isn't a Civic. Are you talking about the CTS-V? That has a supercharger and most reviews complain about the SC whine, which trades one sound for another. If you don't like SC or TC sound, besides being weird, don't get one. Sort of odd though, since your name is twinturbo. OEMs are cheap, that's why.

  • @ChocolatePoop1301 agreed sir.

  • rear mounts are cool untill someone wants your turbo :P dont have to pop any hoods to get it out/off

  • @lilpud1 It would be faster and easier to take the whole car. forget the turbo!!!

  • @yaznatpolo very true!

  • @lilpud1 haha yeaa this is tru.. but why would you want the car :P'' hahahahaha jk jk

  • @lilpud1 Good luck pulling brackets and pipe and if the car had been driven in the past hour youd burn the fuck out of our hands.

  • Looooove that fuckin turbo whistle

  • dude i love that turbo whine sounds sick

  • @1ceaser trust me, i've done lots of research on boosting these cars seeing as i'm interested in boosting my own. my problem is, i don't see anyone mount the turbo under the hood, they all use rear mounted turbos.

  • @jgto17 rear mountis the best it gets more air then under the hood and it doesnt get the engine hot like underhood turbos does and STS is the best kit for these cars

  • i've been looking at a similar build, would you mind telling me where they mounted your turbo?

  • @jgto17 It is in the back replacing the muffler. Makes it easy to install and also more efficient for more hp and tq.

  • @yaznatpolo could they not fab up a turbo in the engine bay?

  • @jgto17 Sure you can but it is tons easier to install and to work on as well as more reliable being away from the engine heat. We like to place the turbo where it makes sense and on this particular car the rear made sense. If you would like to do a front mount I can still get you all of the components to do it but you will have to fabricate your own pipes and stuff.

  • @yaznatpolo oh okay gotcha, i'm looking at having a speed shop locally that could fab me up a full custom under the hood kit, and thought maybe you mounted it back there due to clearance issues

  • @yaznatpolo How is it more effcient? Turbos are designed to work of the expansion of the hot exhaust gases, thats why they work best off the manifold. By putting the turbos so far back not only is the exhaust way cooler it takes soo much longer for the exhaust to spool the turbo by flow rather than the expansion of the gases and then the compressed air has to be piped all the way back up to the engine. dosn't seem very efficient.

  • @ls6cobra All I can say is we have been around for almost a decade doing this and if it didn't work there wouldn't be hundreds of videos here on you tube with our cars kicking ass all over the world. If you still have questions though I will be more than happy to answer them. Thanks,,,,

  • @yaznatpolo I never said it didn't work... i just dont see how its more efficient as you put it... no need to get defensive.. i have no questions at all i understand the concept fully, it just seems like a waste too me with the turbos so far back it takes longer to spool them and get the air back to the motor just seems pointless for a gain of what 70hp at the most? thats why theres "no lag" b/c your really not building enough boost to notice.

  • @ls6cobra Well on this particular car it gained 150hp not 70. The power I talk about is to the wheels and to go from 350 rear wheel to 500 rear wheel and 520tq with only 5 psi makes it for a really health gain. The reason we say more efficient is because when you try to get the air from the turbo back to the motor the whole point is to do it at a low temp and there are some systems out there that reach 200 plus degrees and we stay at almost ambient which means more hp and tq with less boost.

  • nice turbo chally ! post more?

  • whats turbo lag?

  • LOL.... Because people still think that by putting the turbo somewhere other than the manifold that it won't work.

  • why does every one of these videos say "what lag?"? you aint gotta say it 20 times, freak!

  • What I meant by being limited by your fuel is the octane in the fuel. You can run much higher boost with either race fuel or methanol injection preventing detonation which is what will kill your motor. The Hemi's have really shallow ring lands and any bit of detonation will wipe out that engine right away. So if you add safety which is octane and proper tuning, you would be surprised how much power any motor could make.

  • This car as long as you weren't into boost averaged 35mpg from Las Vegas to Utah when we came back from the Mopars at the strip event last Year....

  • hello 9mpg

  • Hell yeah

  • is one of the pipes a dummy pipe or did you split it into 2 after the turbo?

  • a little boost makes everything better...

  • agree^^

  • Gotta love the Challengers!

  • nice car bro, that challenger is fuckin mean

  • GT-R's are shitboxes.. I could beat one with a built 4 cylinder. My rear mount T76 Duster can annihilate a GTR on 7psi of boost..

  • FAIL

  • Jesus bub, clean that thing!

  • We had just gotten home from the Las Vegas Mopars at the strip event and it was raining the whole way home! :) We were riding dirty!

  • Beautiful (& FAST) car. This is the first turbo charged new Challenger Ive seen. Drive safe out there.

  • The HEMI motor can only handle so much boost whether it's 2 small turbo's or one large turbo at the manifold it's the same number. Now don't get me wrong the twin has a lot more potential but it really don't make much difference if your running 7 psi or less.

  • Because you can actually make about the same power for about 2 grand less.

  • why dont you go twin turbo?

  • You can run as much boost as your fuel allows you to make. Pump gas is limiting so you will have to run a race fuel or methanol injection to avoid detonation and keep you from damaging a piston or worse.

  • @yaznatpolo actually its not the fuel that's limiting your amount of boast its actually that this engine is designed to run naturally aspirated so it has a compression ratio thats to high im thinking srt8 run 10 or 11 to 1 most stock boasted car run about 8 or 9 to 1 ratios also the cam in this motor doesn't work well under high boast it will actually cause alot of the air and fuel to be blown out the exhaust

  • Also what could happen if you run 8 psi?

  • Oh do they have sts twin turbo system for the challenger srt8?

  • Yes STS does offer a twin turbo kit for all of the LX cars.

  • are you on regular pump gas? but how do you adjust the psi's??

  • Yes, Usually on pump gas you will be around 6 to 8 psi depending on the tune and then with race fuel or methanol injection I have seen 10 plus but I would be really carefull specially if you don't know what your doing with tuning with anything above 8 psi.

  • I have seen as high as 10 psi with race fuel or Methanol injection but I would still just keep it no higher than 7 psi. Hell 5 - 6 psi puts you over 500 rear wheel with almost 550 tq.

  • how much hp can this car handle safely? stock

  • Sorry I meant more dense! :) The air molecules get smaller which will make more room in the same amount of space for more fuel and more air for more power.

  • It is an STS remote mounted turbo kit, Reduces the intake temps and allows the engine to survive by reducing the risk for detonation. And the air is less dense which means more air more fuel more power and Tq in the combustion chamber. One of the best kits out there for the Hemi because of the shallow piston ring land design that will end the motor at the slightest chance of detonation. Most people are comfortable running 6 - 7 psi and making over 500 at the wheels.

  • i think you mean more dense air.

  • What kind of turbo kit is this?

  • The single turbo kit makes about the same hp for a couple grand less so it is a really good option. You will pay less for the single kit than you will a supercharger and make way more tq at the same boost level.

  • Well done muscel always beats import love your rims their sick black on black

  • Dude you're so right. I took my 98 V6 Mustang to the drag strip and whooped up on a brand new GT-R..... idiot.

  • beautiful just beautiful can wait to have a set up like that on my 2008 challenger

  • I prefer manual trans.

  • If you want to see more search "Budman's Challenger" and on that video he does a really cool burn out.

  • where did you mount the turbo? and is it as easy to install as they say?

  • I'm not sure of positioning on this car... but on a C4 Corvette it takes the place of the battery

  • most of the sts turbos are mounted where the mufflers would be...check out their site theres some really good pics!!

  • Yeah man, If he stayed on it he would of ate that fence in front of him! Hehe.....

  • easy launch?

  • Thanks for this video I have been waiting to hear an STS setup on a new Challenger.. I love the whirling sound of the rear mounted turbo, 5/5 Thanks
