I have standard 8600gts 675 core clock.But, i've been overclocking it to 725 core and it has been running fine and at good temps 65c max on full load. But, im curious its been a while now since you uploaded this. Do you think its alright for me to push my 8600gts a little further? And if so, can you recommend a good oc rate?

@CrackerJayherber hey man, with a 8600GTS you ought to be able to attach all sorts of heatsinks to it, just use artic silver thermal epoxy.

Memory overclocking also kicks a@# but you'll need to find some heatsinks for those to.

733mhz is the maximum clock of a G80 based core (the gpu itself on your 8600)

the heatsink is the metal part on the graphics card that covers all the chips, this aids cooling, then the fans remove the heat from the metal heatsink, there is a thermal paste that sits between the processing chips and the heatsink to help heat transfer= depending on the age of the gpu this can become less effective- i had the smae issue on my 8600gts, now on a 8800gts :)

i used the fur mark 1.7 and i checked test my graphic card which is nvidia geforce gtx 285 but the tempreture is increasing like more than 85 and more n more so i closed the programe,

i dont know much about these stuffs , all i know that i play prototype , and the game freezes and i just press alt+ctrl+del and back to the game, and its ok

@the147break lol. LIQUID COOLING. gtx285's get hella hot. stock cooling just doesn't do it. anything above 80c severyly damages your gpu. aim for under 60c. If you keep running at those speeds then you're going to be buying a new gpu :D

its not the capacitor you want to worry about, if you overheat the Graphics processing chip (gpu) then it will kill the card, just keep the settings so it runs stable and at a reasonble temp and it should be ok, remember any kind of overclocking can actually reduce the life of the card not just kill it instantly.

ok, first off, its not that hard to overclock, knowing the limey of your CPU is the best, tell me, what speed do you have it at atm ? and why overclock if you have no graphics card? surly its to game? having said that, 80% of ANY gaming computer's machine is from the RAMM and CPU. your 4 gig's of ram might just overclock nicly even to THREE Ghz, with the right Watercooling that''s worth investing in. :)

well as i think i said before, 80 percent of any computer's perforance is Ram and CPU .... funny, because you must have a REALLY bad card to get that low on TF2....my advice is spend £0 or so at PC world on a 8800 GS.... they will get you a dacant framerate all max settings..

DRR2 800 would be fine for a AMD 6000... he needs to get that thing at 3.6 ghz for the ram to come close to being bottle necked. The CPU is actaully the biggest bottle neck. No offense intel is more advanced in dual cores. Not saying the 6000 is bad its just if you were to compare it to a E8400 even with your overclock the E8400 will win easily in most if not all benchmarks. I got my E8600 @ 3.8 ghz with slight voltage and FSB rise. I have a 4870 i still thing my cpu is holding it back.

yea, the cpu rating matters quite a lot in crysis, i went from 2.2ghz single to a 3ghz dual core AMD and used the same card, the game played loads better, then i got a 8800gts as i found a good site selling at low prices.

well a graphics card fan is only as cool as the air around it, if the case gets warm air inside the gpu is also been "cooled" with warm air> meaning its going to be hotter, but with case fans the air in the case is always cool meaning all components are getting a constant cooler air supply, rather than been sat in a stuffy case.

yes, i found that even at the biggest overclock you get a small gain, you notice the difference in 3dmark, just not in games, the other nvidia cards dont seem to do this, you can see a good increase in fps.

lol..because you have a 8800, in this video i am using a 8600 which is quite a bit slower than a 8800 so m50fps on 8600 is pretty good. I have an 8800gts now and the power difference is huge, i now get 60fps constant aswell, what i dont get is it never goes above 60fps

its because you have vsync enabled in your game settings, turn it off, it creates your fps to not go higher than 60 because it runs the monitors fps not your gpu.
