It's always wrong to watch rated R movies where nudity and language is involved... it encourages them to produce more of the same, and for Christians, there is the "lusting of the heart" aspect which God calls adultery.
For a Christian, it's always wrong to watch, and for a non-believer, they can do whatever they want to since they aren't saved anyway... sin is fun, but only for a season. ALL movies that blaspheme God gets turned off, even if they're rated G.
movies seem to be rated based on sexuality more then on violence. i see a lot of rated R movies that are really not that violent but have a really DARK and TWISTED plot which makes it scary or what not for the little ones. a lot of the time thoguh it seems to be based on sex mmore then anything. i think thats sad cuz sex is completely natural and when 2 adults do it in a responsible way, i think its somehting that should be rated G at most. sex is more normal then killing . . . .
I think if a person seeks out a rated R movie they are probably ready to sit down and watch it. It's usually technicality with swear words anyway, nothing even to worry about. the youth is already falling apart...
I think we should always let government agencies make decisions about what we see and what we don't see. Without even questioning it. If some government agent in some room somewhere stamps a letter "R" on ANY piece of art, that means I will avert my eyes cause we all know that the government really cares about our well being. After all, Jesus always said "Don't think for yourself. Let others tell you how to think, that way you don't have to." Corinthians 22:10
No. My comment was sarcasm. I was trying to point out that the very notion of letting a government decide what is appropriate for your eyes is utterly ridiculous, not to mention ungodly. Hopefully, one day you will realize that you've be misled (although judging by your reactions to my comments, I'd say its highly unlikely.) God Bless!
I suppose that the fact that this question was even posed in conjunction with the content of some of your other videos was enough to make me assume some things, yes. I apologize about that. The question itself is what I have a problem with because the notion of putting ANY faith in the government is, to me, willing mindlessness. I see the people of this country participating in voluntary mental slavery and it makes me sick to my stomach.
i own tonz of rated R movies love em.. heck even passion of the christ was rated R but my college has this rule because its a private school and to avoid whatever it is they are trying to avoid they said no rated R while attening the college.. so i wanted to know what other thought.. me personally dont care.. i been to public school all my life soo thats rated R in itself
I really truely hope your comment was dry sarcasm..... our govt. is controlling far too much of what we do as it is. it goes against federalism... pretty soon we may as well call ourselves a socialist country instead of democratic.
well, im `13 and im not allowed to see R-movies, but im ok with that. but what im not ok with is all the really young 11 12 10 and under aged kids watching them. its not a good influence on them
well crystal, Hollywood is what the pagan witches used to make there magical wands out of that gave them "special effects" which allowed the witches and druids to cast spells upon. These spells would leave people "amused" rememer A at the begining of a word means "without" muse means to think and thats what hollywood movies do, cast a spell one us that "amuses" us aka allows us not to think for ourselves! R rated or not -consider etymology as a source of truth!
i am a 11 year old girl that has every single rated r movies since i was born(exept the happening stull wating for the dvd to come out)=]but i will see it and i don't have a problem with rated r movies there cool expetually bloody ones=]
Never put graven images before yourself. Our children our being raised in a world of evil...and it is up to us to show them the right way to live. Horror movies would be forbidden in a perfect world. Yet many sins and violence has been placed into everything around us, and it is like a cancer unto the mind. For it depleats the purity of our souls...always heed the warning of the Bible...for the word of God is truth.
That may or may not be a valid point. Unfortunately I have never seen the movie so I cannot debate it. The important thing to know is that Jesus is in our heart, mind, and soul...and although television is a way to broadcast information...it is often misused and does more damage than good. For how often does our media put forth the will of God? Are you willing to compromise the will of God for worldly entertainment? That is the question. There are many graven images on youtube, avoid them.
Almost all the stories in the bible is rated R if you actually act them out, Samson and all the stories of killing people and war, and not to mention the crucification of Jesus Christ the movie "the passion of the Christ" was not even close to what really happened in the bible, the movie was just a hint of what the crucification was like and it still got Rated R
Yes terrible events in life (the Bible included) would be R rated if shown on screen. I don't believe we need to see the realism of the horror because it is unhealth for us as human beings. It is outside of our creation. I decided long ago not to view R films, but I have seen a few bits and pieces of them and it is bad for our souls.
Is it appropriate? well that all depends on the type of movie and the emotional age of the person as well, if somone is truly an adult and has an adult mind-set i dont think it would hurt anything, after all some R-rated films are excellent movies, and then there are some that have no merits even being in movie theatres..*cough* Hostile *cough* i think if the person has shown good morals and a good amount of emotional responsibility then they should be able to watch w/e they want, within reason.
ya it is just a movie but look at da context a guy meets a girl. guy licks a girl. girl blows man. guy fucks girls in evry hole guy pulls out n cums in her. da manner of da way its shown. n ud let ur kid watch dat wats wrong wit u.
people who watch R rated movies in my opinion have a way better chance of being well rounded and open minded people rather than people who do not watch them.........
all of us mature at differant rates and have gaurdians that hold differant standards of maturity for all of us. despite these factors the only person who decides the pace on maturity to adulthood is ourselves. Maturing isnt all about Sex, Violence, and Freedom its also about increasing Responsibility and Self Mastery. rating systems are an illusion of control to make Gaurdians and Society feel better and empowered. children will be exposed to alot in this reality, keep them ignorant or aware?
your right, why keep them in a bubble, they will find out from someone or somewhere else anyways, purposely preventing it will make them want to find out on their own, its just a movie
To be honest it's the same sh** I mean Nightmare on Elm Street, Chucky and even Jason are all rated R movies... And yet when you watch them you don't see them as Rated R, you are like "oh why is that Rated R it should be PG" You know. People just need to stop being so sheltered!
i say it depends on the maturity of the person who is watching and what the point of the movie is. If they can handle it sensibly then id say around age 15 (just a guess) Also, there is a big difference between a movie rated R that is a "classic" or "drama" than say a movie like Hostel which is just torture porn...
Lol, but in my public school, what i hear everyday is worse than an R rated movie.
Oh wow, so you're not even allowed to watch R-rated movies at your university. That's ironic, because if the bible was made into a movie it would be rated R.
I think the age should be 12 or something like that, all these kids are sneaking in rated R movies, it would be better if they were just allowed to buy a ticket. Same with video games.
Son or daughter, I would allow my hypothetical children to watch rated R films, I'd rather I not stunt their artistic verism & turn them into more of the brainless zombies who are kind of pansies. In fact, I think I'd prefer for them to watch such movies and become conditioned to where they are use to the scenarios, I strongly believe that it's good that they get a better idea of the real world than to have them only watch Disney fantasy type movies full of empty memes where the hero never loses
I generally won't watch a movie if it's rated below R (restricted), it seems that almost any movie receiving a weaker rating automatically means that the movie is teh suck, not thought provoking and is corny so I usually avoid PG13 etc. However there are a couple of rare few non-R rated films that I don't hate entirely e.g. there's an animated feature titled Advent Children that you probably wouldn't like at all but it's good enough to make my list of favorite films, at least for its nostalgia.
some PG 13 movies should be rated R lol, but my parents never restricted it, they just would say don't look or close ur eyes really quick, and then continue, but we grew up watching it, and matured on our own. I been to public school, and heard and seen worse lol
People need to judge things for themselves, not blindly follow the media and the MPAA.

I think people should self-censor. If they want to see it, see it. If they really want to they'll find a way to see it.
I don't think people should show R material to those under-age, but if they find a way to view it themselves, that's up to them.

All depends on the story and content,
when I was young I could watch an action picture that was R-Stallone,Arnold S.,Chuck Norris or some comedies...but ones with sex
it was off limits.
The Christian people are too strict on what
people should see or no see.
Look beyond the rating.
I mean theres many PG and G movies that suck.
