Just curious, have you always been so thin? or in such good shape? is it just from raw food or genetic? Any before and after photos, thank you so much. your recipes are amazing, love the zucchini pasta!
@daniellebuysse Yes, I've always been thin. Because of this, I don't really have before and after pics that would show any dramatic changes. The major effects are more internal. The changes that have taken place inside my body are extremely dramatic, at least for me. I can't recommend this diet highly enough. So happy you're enjoying the zucchini pasta. I love it too! :0)
is it good to mix the mango, which is a fruit with the mixed vegatables? Because my brothers, who is also into raw food, told me not to mix fruit and vegetables together because it won't digest very well.
@biitersweettt Mango is a subacid fruit so it combines relatively well with vegetables. Acid fruits like tomato and citrus are best with veggies, while sweet fruits like bananas and dates generally do not go well vegetables, with the exception of leafy greens which go well with just about everything. However, some people have really strong digestive systems and aren't bothered by any food combinations. Mono meals are ideal but not everyone is ready for that. :0)
I need to ask you an important question. Will the raw diet in any way affect the effectiveness of the contraceptive pill, which i take. Please let me know.
@latinita1988 It depends on how the fruit was dried and if preservatives like sulphur dioxide are added. Fresh is always best, but there are times when dried fruit comes in handy. I would use dried fruit sparingly.
Hii! I have a question for you. I eat about 1800 calories, and that is (I think) a good amount for my body (I sleep comfortably and don't go hungry). But on 30 BAD, I was told to eat at least 3000. What do you think about this? How many calories, approximately, do you consume?
@NirvanaOnEarth90 If I'm not exercising, I could get by on 1,800 cals a day. However, when I eat 2,500 to 3,000 cals a day, I feel like super woman! I have more energy, motivation, stamina and mental clarity. Plus, I feel euphoric and more joyful. It's definitely something to strive for so you can experience what I'm talking about. That's why people on 30bad are so passionate about getting max cals in, cause they want everyone to feel this good! :o)
I LOVE your new hair! It suits you very well. :) This recipe looks really yummi. I live in southern Canada; so maybe I'll have some luck finding these mangoes if I look hard enough. One question, do you eat exclusively organic?
@NirvanaOnEarth90 Thank you! I try to eat organic when possible but not exclusively. I buy a lot of imported mangoes when not available locally & they're almost always conventional. Pretty much everything else I buy comes from the farmers market, except bananas, and even though the people I buy from at the farmers markets aren't always certified, I only buy from those who don't use pesticides or herbicides. Google food news org for the full list of the dirty dozen & buy based on that list.
haha, sorry i keep asking u questions. i just want to get my diet perfect, as i want to feel energized, like u! anyway ive watched all ur vids and i dont think ive ever heard u mention eating seeds, so do u ever eat seeds? also, are mushrooms okay to eat on 80/10/10 as i have read the book but have not seen anything on it?
@TeenageRawFoodist On a rare occasion I'll eat seeds. Dr. Graham uses hemp seeds in his menu plan, in the book. When I have overts, it's usually a few almonds, walnuts or avocado. Mushrooms are okay but pay attention to how you feel after you eat them. Sometimes they don't jive well with certain people and can make your stomach a bit bubbly or upset.
@TeenageRawFoodist No, it's too strong for me. I eat romaine, red leaf lettuce and spring mixed greens, spinach, chard, celery and cucumbers. All the stuff that tastes really good to me. :o)
@pixelfairydevnull You're welcome :o) Julienne is when you cut food into long thin strips or noodles. I use a Titan julienne peeler (can be seen in my zucchini pasta vid). Apples are definitely eaten but you're right, they're not mentioned often. I think it's because people go for more calorie dense fruits. I enjoy apples, especially fuji apples, but I don't eat them often. It's easier to get more calories eating mangoes, bananas, dates, grapes, etc.
@latinita1988 It depends on what's in it. Cooked grains are very difficult to digest but if you do well with them and you feel good eating it, go for it. I don't consume any oils. If I eat any fat, it comes from a small amount of avocados or nuts. Oils are high in fat and I feel much better eating a low fat diet. The 80/10/10 diet does not recommend the consumption of any oils. I do however use coconut oil on my face. It makes a great moisturizer. A small amount goes a long way too! :o)
is it ok to eat the friut and veg from a supermarket?what if things are not really organic?how can we know for sure?wouldn't just washing them get rid of all pesticides or whatever and the fruit or veg would still retain the same nutritional value?do you think steaming lightly veggies will loose its nutritional value?
@latinita1988 If the food is labeled organic in the store, it's a good sign that it is. I always wash my fruits and greens to get rid of dirt and bugs. Organic is always better but not always possible. Check out foodnews org for the full list of the dirty dozen (worst conventional produce to buy). Raw foods are always best, but lightly steaming vegetables is far healthier than eating cooked refined foods. Do what works best for you. :o)
Hi Alicia! Awe, I've missed you... I was just thinking about you the other day and hoped that you would post a video soon! I'm still eating a raw food vegan diet and I'm working my way towards eating a 80/10/10 diet! I bought the book 80/10/10 and it is opening my eyes to so much. I'm also feeling amazing! Thanks so much for inspiring me... I really can't thank you enough because it really was you who inspired me to change my diet and try raw foods! xx Liz
@CharmedElegance Hi Liz! I'm so happy you're working your way into it and feeling great. The book is very helpful and really makes so much sense. I'm also really happy you've found inspiration here...that's what it's all about! Big hugs to you!!!
@tinafromohio One of the sweetest fruits in the world is bland? I guess she should've thrown in some grilled chicken breast that needed marinade, seasoning, and slight char on it to liven the salad up, eh? Oop, don't forget the olive oil, that is really the opposite of bland straight out of the bottle even! Hehe.
Wow! That looks great..I heard you got a good deal for them too..lol I am friends with Mango Girl:) and she told me the story about how you met there..small world huh?
@vicky2c Yeah, I got a great deal on them. We're so lucky here! I love Stef! So happy to have connected with her. I know...meeting at the mango booth was pretty synchronistic! Very small world. :o)
@InnerBeauty2006 You know they're ripe when they get softer like an avocado. They yield to gentle squeezing. They should be super sweet and juicy. If they're still tart and a bit starchy, it means it's not completely ripe.
