Wax glues hair together more than it allows hair to dread (tangle) itself up, while also trapping dirt and water - making it harder to wash properly and causing it to dry slower.

no way defernatly keep them there defernatly you like the saying goes dreadlocks are only for certain people they only look right on most people u have got to be a person who wants dreads to have them and thos little loops are defernatly normal its just how the grown wrap a little piece of wool around them and it will pull back in over time, there awsome

bah dude same shit is happening with my dreads + ponytail i have 4 dreads that dont reach :( I just push them into the dreads but they go out after a while. gl and dont cut them off atleast hang on 12 mnths :)

they look alot like mine. it will take a long time if you rub the ends like me, and im a natural born addict, so i rub them alot, and that makes the ends crack a little.. so actually mine havent "grown" much in the last year. Once i gave my girl a pair of scissors and said: "cut them off, NOW!", but then i gave it a day, and thats a month ago now.. i think ill let them be for a while.. i just think u/i should forget about them, and just let them be, cus after all, thats all u can do about them.

dude, yours are long enough to tie back, dont grab the ones from your temple to tie, grab 2 from behind your ears, pull em all back and tie em' you should be able to do it.

Ahhh, the ol' dreadlock doubts,, i've had my badboys for 4yrs now,, start'd them from 2-3 inch's long and there half way down my back,,,, the loope fiasco thing is standard, you should bind them for a cherokee look,, or put a toe ring on them,,, keeps them in check ,, and a common myth is dont wash them,, bullshit! i SHAMPOO (only) the roots twice a week which helps start the knoting stage on the regrowth, once a month i form an roll them,

I think your dreads look great! Especially for 8 months. My dreads shrank SO much, my hair now (as you can see in my videos) is really long, and some of my dreads were almost as short as yours! I think to grow them down your back would take probably at least a couple years. I had my dreads for almost a year and a half and they just kept shrinking, not growing haha. You started out with at least semi long hair though, so if they stop shrinking you might get to pony tail length in 6-12 months.

i wear hair bands made by a company called buff headwear to keep the dreads back when not long enough to tie up

but to be honest they look fine how they are you got the natural look going on

hey man. they look awesome. the loops are normal, if you saw my vids, you'll see i have them too! patience is KEY. dreads, to me, teach you about just not caring and let go. i can tie them back now BUT i used to not. what i did tho. was i used headbands for a while. it got stuff out of the way, try it? you can see it in my first dread video. honestly man, they look good on you. do you wax em? (dont, if you do). just let em be. mine are wispy too, personally i like that look. rock on bro!

Thanks. No I don't use wax. A little in the beginning. Like 2 or 3 times after the initial dreading. I do wear a cut off T-shirt sleeve as a headband sometimes.

i got my serious loops to go away by palmrolling them and then once they look semi normal put a small rubber band around the loop.

i deff. keep em man, they'r lookin great, i havn't started mine yet but, last summer i had sum for like 3 weeks and i combed em out, but my hair wasn't actually matted or anything, i used alot of pantene conditioner, and detangular, and done one by one, my next set don't plan on combing em out, but i heard they shrink alot, prob because your hairs actually starting to matt up and form locks, got no idea how long it starts to gain lenghth, hope u decide to keep em, but it's ur hair man, peace
