  • No matter if it's a black hair salon or a grocery store, clothes store, etc you may or not receive good service. When I do find an establishment that has excellent service I will gladly spend my money there. I go off of recommendations from friends, family, and coworkers. I'm sorry you had such a horrible experience. Trust me, there are excellent establishments out there. You just have to find them. (Side note: It seems like customer service has decreased in general no matter where you go).

  • I agree completely with the lack of professionalism. I think everyone has experienced it at one point or the other. But I've also noticed that we need to do our part when these things happen and not just take it. We don't have to let them finish just because they started. Leave the salon and they will just have to eat that fee since they didn't act right. Lol I'm talking to myself too. Tell your sister that we all live and learn but don't let anyone still her joy. Be blessed

  • My last hair experience, March 10', I wanted to trim my ends & have a different look for a trip, so someone at work recommended there salon.. She pays $45 for a wash/condition/blowdry & flat iron,a bit more for a trim, so I made an appt. They washed/conditioned & blowdryed my hair right away with an attitude, I then sat for three & 15 min before I was flat ironed & trim & was charged $65. I vowed "never again", from now on when I have the urge for a change, I will do it myself. trimming & all!

  • Sorry to hear about your sister's experience!!!! I have also had these types of expriences in Black hair salons... I thought it was because I have a slight accent & they realized that I was not American but that's just the way it goes.. they are either are cool with you or they're not... for one reason or another??!!!

  • I love your video! u should go to salonvoice. com and share your advice with black women who have questions about hair

  • Hey you!!! Look at your hair!!! It's growing so good and is so healthy looking! Ditto on the hair salons. I had very bad experiences too! My last visit was May last year. I had heat damage galore. Keep your sister encouraged! With a proper regimen her hair will be fine.

  • It's grown alot!!

  • Wow! I feel so sorry for your sister. Horrible customer service. Your so right about teaching business management. I think it should be part of the course before getting a liscense to do hair. Since moving to Florida 11 yrs. ago I refused to visit any black salons because all I heard were negative comments. Now that I'm natural I sure as hell won't let anyone touch my hair.

  • @datgrluluv2b haha aint that the truth!

  • I don't blame you and your sister for not going back. Not all, but a lot of hair professionals either don't really know that much about our hair, or don't care to know or would like us to stay in the dark so we can keep giving our money to them. I had those experiences for years and they were the core reasons for my damaged hair. Also your hair has a lot of great movement. It is thick and beautiful.

  • @11zeaky my sister has only had one woman do her hair right and get it to grow after she had to shave it off the first time, but unfortunately that woman closed her salon and I think went back to school. But she knew hair because her hair was like down her back, and her daughter who was my roommate in college also had thick full hair. Its sad because other race women don't know a lot about our hair, but they run their business so much better than black salons.

  • Another youtuber oooo95 recently had a terrible experience when her hair was cut way to short. Once at home she finally turned it into a nice style but it's too bad when a professional does not listen to the wishes of the client. That's the moral

  • @adesania i know! thankfully they didn't put shears to her head, but paying even 40 for what they did was unacceptable and I could have done a better job than what they did on her hair that day. i mean she spent 20 minutes trying to tell the woman that she could do any type of styling on her head but that she needed a trip and wanted it somewhat straight for something different. BZZZZZ!! not even close. FRUSTRATION!!
