Hard to believe it was 7 years ago. After getting lucky with a PSP shortly after launch, I got this game due to the praise it was getting. I had no idea what I was in for and I got hooked on this game. Easily one of the best gaming experiences ever.

This is a game where if i need time to myself I will turn the game on, sit on my couch, start a level and become silent until the game defeats me. This can last from ten minutes to four hours with me.

Puzzle styles that are get from A to B are way better games then tetris shit. PQ2, Cube, Crush, those are the better concepts for puzzle games, although cube does suck

Normal mode in lumines is more of an arcade game, based on reflexes and speed to get the bigger combinations and combos. Games like this have been traditionally been called puzzle games, though. Also, lumines includes an 'puzzle' mode inside, where you have to complete shapes, or clean the squares with a number of movements, so those would fall in your classification of puzzle.

As a game is awesome, still :P

dude... the first stage of lumines is meant to get you into the groove of the game. this is the easiest stage, and you can rack up tons of stage clear(no blocks on the stage) and color clear(well, duh) bonuses! this guy was a beast just racking up combos!

i agree lumines 2 was inferior. i recommend lumines supernova if you have a ps3. the songs are still not as good as the original's, but are a step up from 2 and still good. content wise though, its the best lumines out there :)

Lumines 2 has more content than lumines live. It has practically all the lumines 1 songs, except for the 4 liscenced ones. Also, varios of the liscenced songs are pretty neat (ken ishii, the star guitar one)

No. I looked for an official lyric sheet for a LONG time. If you use Google you'll find a bunch of people's interpretations. But the only official lyrics I could find from the Shinin' include "Red rum", "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", and "Here's Johnny" (you hear a bit of "Johnny, Johnny, Johnny" at 0:20 in this video).
