because Nintendo wanted it to look like the

characters sweated when they got hit.

the Genesis version had blood but you need

to put in a code first, just put in A B A C A and B two times

at the "Code of Honor" screen and then the text will turn yellow

and Scorpion will shout "Get Over Here!" which will let you know that

you put it in right.

And it wasn't released for numerous consoles at that time it was only released for the sega genesis at that time, this movie is around '94, and don't say gameboy or whatever cuz those aren't consoles. It has nothing at all to with arcade games at all in this movie, in 1994 consoles ruled the market.
