In todays news, corruption in the highest levels of politics, voting for federal government scandles, the miss use of public money, and they want "US" to vote for their "INCOMPETENCE?" Labor gets on libs backs of miss use of public money, labor dont explain rudds lagit excuse of a house that has wings, and tony abbott gets his own back by admitting libs IR laws just dont cut it. next week, a new inexperienced corrupted gov takin the place of the experienced at corruption. (the old libs)
I'm wondering if this is an orchestrated campaign or one person with multiple logins posting effectively the same comment time and again on our videos. Hmmmmm.
Or it could be people very concerned of the Greens and the coalition it has entered into with Labor. I actually respected you guys about 6 years ago but the Greens have entered into a undeniable relationship with Labor (and apparently the Unions according to symolie) which has shattered the appearance of independance the Greens once had.
You are virtually to Labor what the Natioanls are to the Liberals but without the written accord. Now go ahead and proceed to deny it anyway....
Best way to deny it is to refer to our policies. The fact that you personally have just submitted effectively the same pro-Democrats comment on half a dozen of our videos does kind of expose your campaign...
I saw Bob Brown who I previously admired vitRiolocly attacking Goerge Bush (WHO'S POLICIES i HATE)DURING HIS VISIT TO aUSTRALIA.
Its that and the fact that the GREENs are more for Union dominance of workplaces than any other party that makes me look for aN INDEPENDANT TO VOTE FOR.
I agree with symolie to an extent, The greens are more pro union than what the modern labor party is, labor has moved more to the right of the spectrum, basically whatever they can do to get in power.
I also agree that whilst it may be true that the Greens may support US/Australian relations on a general level, their rebelistic attacks on the bush administration(Granted, bush is a moron, still no excuse for Bob Browns attitude) damage US/Australian Relations regardless.
Voting Greens is not a safe "independant" vote that will save the environment.
The Greens are more pro-union than Labor.
The Greens are vehemently opposed to all things US -a threat to the ANZUS alliance.
The Greens wont guarantee to not block supply.
For a party that truly is not beholden to unions, big business, or religion, and that is strong on the environment -vote Democrats and Bring Back Balance in the Senate.
symolie, you are abviously working hard campaigning for the democrats, submitting comments to virtually every video we have posted. We appreciate your dedication, but perhaps you could ensure that your comments are more relevant to the video you are commenting on, and also ensure that they are factually correct.
The Greens are explicitly supportive of the Australia-US alliance and of the USA and its people. We do not support the Bush Administration. There is a big difference.
Go for it Bob! I want Labor to win - but I need you to keep Peter Garrett honest - and do what you do well! Hope you do end up with the balance of power. I will sleep well knowing you are looking out for us. Thank you.
"Double value voting... future and planet". So let me get this straight. What Bob's really saying is that if you vote Green, because you're concerned about the planet, you'll also have to cop all the other Green agendas in the future?
Vote 1 Greens, 2 ALP. Result? ALP candidate still gets your vote but gets the message that they aren't serious enough on climate change. (Or Coalition if you must as your 2nd preference but you still make the statement that climate change should be top of the agenda.)
"... cop all the other Green agendas"? List the parts you find bad.
Compare with Family First's senate preferences: what's their agenda? Not only do you get an extreme version of the Coalition, but you also preference the extreme libertarian LDP (drugs should be legal, gay marriage OK, abortion OK, seat belts shouldn't be mandatory, euthanasia OK, ...). And FF calls the Greens "extreme".
If voting Green is double value voting, then would voting Green and preferencing Liberal be triple value voting since a vote for Liberal is for both Howard and Costello?
You are assuming that Howard and Costello each count as a whole vote. Don't forget also if you vote coalition you get the Nationals too. I'm not sure all that adds up to even one vote ...
If imitation is the finest form of flattery, then I'm sure The Democrats will be chuffed that you've chosen to recycle their "third party insurance" slogan that was being used before The Greens even existed.
Who are you any more, Greens?? The ugly sisters will have to come kicking and screaming to climate change anyway and you respond by wanting to shut down coal and then want to jump into bed with the unions over IR because Labor won't dance with you over preferences???
Environmentalists picked up a LOT of political baggage when it politicised in the 1990s. Set this lot free!
Your hatred of Family First last might actually give the Libs votes... Bob ARE YOU INSANE!!!
Oh dear. Someone's been listening to Labor propaganda.
The unions are turning to the Greens because the ALP is more than happy to keep key aspects of WorkChoices in order to pander to swinging voters. So much for "ripping up" the legislation.
Absolutely, getting rid of Howard is an absolute priority.
If you vote 1 for the Greens, 2 for Labor and last for the Libs, then if the Greens don't win that seat the full value of your vote gets transferred to the Labor Party. So your vote does keep Howard out but also sends a strong message to the Labor party.
In the Senate, the Greens have the potential to hold the balance of power.
So if you want to double or triple the value of your vote, I would vote 1 for the Greens for both Houses.
Is it just me, or is Bob Brown a bit of a frustrated Democrat in this ad? I recall the Australian Democrats using "third-party insurance" in the 80s when they were saving the Franklin Dam ... oh well best of luck :)

The Greens stand up for HUMAN RIGHTS. It is a human right to bargain collectively and be able to join and be represented by a union.
