There's no anger left in this country, they bought us and our kids with supermarkets and Xboxes and comfortable lives...no wonder they can shit on us and all we do is carry blindly on...we need a fucking revolution...
@slapbassboy1 Please do not take this the wrong way but I love you for that comment. .. It's a really great commenta nd so true . If only more people would wake uo to the nightmare lives we are blindly lead to follow.
BRILLIANT poignant video. BUT I think the demo version of this song is better. Never much cared for what Penny done with the song... still a classic whatever
i remember putting this video on in my classroom when the teacher left, because she had a world war 2 tribute video going and i thought i've got a better one, she got pretty mad
I'm normally not into slow songs, and a lot of anarcho punk seems a little cliche to me, angry songs about revolution and police brutality get a bit old.
But this song is perfect: moving, dark, thought provoking, I'm surprised there aren't many new bands playing music influenced by this. The Mob is way better than that crust shit that has taken over anarcho punk.
Great video too, couldn't ask for more. Thanks for making this video, and thanks to the Mob for writing such a powerful song.
@whitetrashoutlaw I messaged them on myspace once. One of them replied to me saying thanks for all the support and that he would pass it on the other members. Pretty incredible. Beautiful stuff they have made.
@whitetrashoutlaw The Mob are a fantastic band with fantastic songs! Yeh! I agree with what you say but Anarchetypean are a band very influenced by The Mob!
my dad was one of the first Americans to get to Nagasaki after the bomb was dropped... he said it was a living nightmare... ppl running up to you begging for food and water and they are all disgusting with flesh melted off and falling off...
@toasty138 I hope they drop a few nukes on the US one day! So I can come and visit you to see how you will beg for food and how disgusting your metled flesh is...
@toasty138 my uncle was there also and got some rough pics. he died from cancer, but i put that down to smoking loads of b&h rather than being in some nuclear fallout place. as much as yanks go on about this country having this and that country having that weapon, they still be the only fuckers who've nuked some poor cunts.
MAN...you made all these videos for the Crass records bands..no Hit Parade tho..there isent a fuckin single Hit Parade track on youtube shits..i wish there were..if i knew how too id made one myself but..i lack the talent.. man.. if er when ya make another video make one for Hit Parade bad news..i love it man.. "We dont want your T.V, we dont want your lies, we dont want to sit and stare at other peoples lives"...fitting with all the "reality (?)" television bullshit we see everyday now a days
I was joking for fucks sake, I don't want to seriously live under the threat of a nuclear war anymore than the next person, living in London I would be a target myself, and I well remember the paranoia of the East/West stand off's. That's not a position I would ever want to be in again.
That doesn't mean I can't take the piss though does it?
As for the intelligence insult,, whoo, you can't even see sarcasm when it slaps you like a big wet Tofu Kipper.
I'm not sad, I'm quite happy actually. My point was the best tunes were written when we thought we faced total destruction (we didn't, the USSR didn't want nuclear war nor did USA, and UK) but the threat brought out good music, no bands today write songs as good as when we thought the axe was swinging above our heads, check Mob, Crass, Flux MDC, Subhumans etc to see good "we're gunna die!" music, the urgency gave succor to the songwriters.
Well, we still have all these tunes, so I don't think we need another cold war for a while, and I certainly don't want Iran or any other more zealous enemy of the west than the soviets were to get the bomb, which is probably what would happen.
I think we need a new proper cold war with the very real and permanent threat of a slow, burning, nasty nuclear death. Living with the potential of death at the hands of evil men as we did till the Soviets fell, brought out the best in songwriters
I agree totally, but in terms of songwriting the cold war brought out the best in songwriters, and M.A.D.(nuke vs nuke- end of world0 is a good equalizer as well, that makes it doubtful it will happen but at least the threat is there. But yes it does sound morbid, but so do the Mob.
mate! ever heard "the white niggers" by the mob, shit i am mid 40's now and could still be sectioned if I went out with it on i-pod. Mark you star, remember sitting in the "mob van" waiting for the petrol station to open after a gig in hereford,,,,,,,blah blah!
hud42 was that the year jeff (hope he made it this far)blew us up in the bender. Oh and remember (sort of) those village gigs as well! All the madmen days. Sat around in Yeovil bus station cafe. Have a copy of "Youth" in the attic loved those days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sat with mark at stonehenge we was tripping as the sun came up-he insisted i watched the sun rise through the stones-it,s like a tattoo on my mind-im still fighting the law-respect
i've still got the original 45 single for this...i went down to london from scotland to see them in 81/82?...the band were on the same tube as us after the gig and looking back i think they probably invented crusty as they were so eh...crusty...brilliant band! let the tribe increase!
Great song. Great sentiments/message/vid too. Where are the bands doing poltical messages thesedays. Anti-war is the easist thing to say but it seems the hardest thing to acheive.
Jeez, I've not heard this song for possibly..20 bloody years....great vid, well done, to one of my all time fave songs...I'm now going to search for witch hunt and some rudimentary peni...already found Subhumans Antisect and Amebix....ahhh memories....ta very much!

I was in a band called the instigators and we played with the mob in wolverhampton in 1983(I know this because it as my 18th birthday)
We went to an house before the gig and the mob turned up after walking for most of the day. They looked filthy but didn't give a shit.
Anyway we supported them and Mark Mob sat watching us(which was an honour for me)
When they got on the stage they were superb and made us look like novices.

The sky is empty and it's turning different shades of colour,
It never did before and we never asked for war.
My mind is empty and my body different shapes of torture,
It never was before and we never asked for war.
No-one is moving and no doves fly here,
No-one is thinking and no doves fly here,
No-one remembers beyond all this fear,
No doves fly here
