My desktop computer is 7 or 8 years old and still kicking - after some power source and ventilators changes, though. I have to build a new one for myself too ...

You might want to consider buying a cheapy cheapy motherboard for now because soon there's a new generation coming out that doesn't have any of the long black text part of the booting up thats been the standard since before we were born! Look up UEFI on google. It was on BBC news ^^
@beatchef But I like the boot text. It's History! I was looking at getting MSI X58 Big Bang XPower Motherboard - Which is really only like 400 bucks, I suppose I could always upgrade when a newer tech comes out and all though...

@magicklorelai Yeah well. It could have been worse. It could have happened two months ago when it started acting up and I didn't have a job. At least I can get into my files. That's a blessing to say the least.
@Resulka i was gonna say the same X3 plz buy a new one asap smash the old call insurance claim it fell XD i got my laptop over 4 years its dying and i dont want it to die yet we had so much fun playing games so i know how u feel resulka
@miciso666 Hahaha, Alas, I can't claim warrenty on this, For one it's too old and 2, I'd just be taking the Warrenty claim to myself since I'm the one who built it. ;p But she's a grand Dame. She just needs to retire is all. Paying for the new one on Tuesday. ^^
