It seems lot of people want to know why HK was given to China well Historically, it belongs to China but it was stolen by us Brits so they claimed. Deng told Mrs Thatcher when she visits China that they wanted it all back so we had no choice but to sign 1984 treaty.

China said taking back was for national reasons cos it was Chinese Sovereignty terrority illegally taken by Britain after declaration of war between the two nation. Deng is said to have told Mrs Thatcher HK is not yours.

Most Hkers supported Dr. Sun Yat Sen's ROC not Mao Zedong's PRC. Thatcher gave HK back for economic reason, fearing a PRC boycott, that is all. Strangely enough, this epoch is nostalgic for me too. When I was very young, I used to draw pictures of Hong Kong at this time.

The truth is PRC is an illegal regime built upon massiven slave labor, the rightful authority of China is ROC, which have cowered into an island and going to be extinct very soon because of international pressure.

It is the extent of the peoples ability to steer the direction of the nation and thus their own futures, it is the assurance that one man or one group wont dictate their lives. That is why every year half a million Chinese immigrate to the US.
