@Xtclilium He did indeed say that. ASIMO is capable of recognising general objects such as cars, people etc. He didn't learn what the Mini Cooper was, but by reflecting on his prior knowledge, he was able to guess that it was a car, and so he said "maybe, toy car?".

Why do I have the feeling that this is old news. Yes it is an achievement, go further and give it what all artificial intelligent beings lack both in science fiction and in real life, the ability for independent creativity, in other words, your teaching it logic, but not feeling, it is the combination of these two principles in equal order that define what it means to be conscious and aware of what is around you at all times.

The brain and biologic beings in general are just very sophisticated machines as well. So your argument is again week. But by trying to mimic its functionality (and not necessarily as a black box) we are in the right way.
