Hmm, from what I can see in the video. Neither is at SERIOUS fault. The rider is a tad aggreessive and personally when this happens to me I don't speed up and not give him room. This to me is considered bad riding on your behalf. He was also badly driving taking up both lanes. You were too close to him and It got to the point when he had to pull in to avoid hitting the van up the road. This is just common sense. I do enjoy your videos my friend. This time both were bad drivers.

My worst nightmare on the road is hitting a biker, now im a car driver and i know the scary statistics of driving a bike, this is why i will Always check my mirrors and indicate before i move over, not just because of their could be someone their, because its good to keep checking around you. The Taxi Driver DID NOT CHECK HIS MIRRORS OR INDICATE. If your in the inside lane and you see someone coming then slow down indicate and then move over. A it says in the Highway Code!

The Taxi Driver DIDNT Indicate telling the biker he was moving to the right lane their forth the biker didn't know he was going to move over. Also the biker was not able to see the parked truck blocking the taxi's. Point, People cant read minds.

I didn't really see the taxi do that much wrong, you were about to attempt an overtake before the taxi had left the lane you're in. He shouldn't have sworn at you, you shouldn't have put yourself into the position where you needed to use your horn by beginning an overtake while unaware if the taxi was even aware of your presence. Don't blame every other road user without looking at your own riding first - you were not faultless. Uploading to youtube because someone v signed you is pathetic too.

Studies have proven this which is why it is illegal to use a hand held phone whilst driving in the UK. The taxi driver showed a lack of awareness and ability before demostrating a disregard for his and his passengers safety.

@charlietow so he couldn't have used his brakes? It's not a hit the lorry or a hit me scenario he could have waited. As I've said before, people seem to think it's better to change lanes without indicating nearly hitting a motorcycle than to just slow down and wait for the lane to be clear.
@pympster I'm not saying his driving wasn't appalling, it was. But he never fully leaves the right hand lane before you're on the throttle and right up beside him. Maybe you too should start riding with a bit more caution and not expect other road users to anticipate you're acceleration. Just my opinion
Many moons ago when I were a cycle messenger, I found the best thing is not to feed into situations.
Using reverse psychology I used to give awards for the worst driving. Best award went to a class 2 lorry driver doing a U turn on a one way whilst talking on the phone and eating a sandwich.
So many idiot drivers out there its beyond belief but to be fair I had my fair share of riding like a twat :)
Taxi driver did nothing wrong. Biker is aggressive. Funny how bikers always say that car drivers should treat a bike as if it was as wide as a car when a car is overtaking a bike but when a bike is overtaking a car they try to squeeze through small gaps in the traffic and expect car drivers to have eyes in the back and side of their heads to see them coming through. Also, the faster acceleration of a bike means they are behind you one second and beside you the next second.
@CycleDub Yes, mirrors are good but they have their limitations (there are still blind spots) which is why any decent driving instructor will always teach a student to swivel their head to point their eyes in the right direction to check for things in the blind spots. However, it takes a finite time to do that which is why motorbikes accelerating hard can seemingly come from nowhere! I think everyone driving in high density traffic conditions should take extra care but mistakes are inevitable.

My worst nightmare on the road is hitting a biker, now im a car driver and i know the scary statistics of driving a bike, this is why i will Always check my mirrors and indicate before i move over, not just because of their could be someone their, because its good to keep checking around you. The Taxi Driver DID NOT CHECK HIS MIRRORS OR INDICATE. If your in the inside lane and you see someone coming then slow down indicate and then move over. A it says in the Highway Code!

@bandmedal Watch the video closely, As you see the Taxi Driver goes into the Left lane, in which the right lane is clear for bikers to do what they do best, overtake slow cars, Now Manners can stretch so far but mind reading .... thats another story. The Taxi Driver DIDNT Indicate telling the biker he was moving to the right lane their forth the biker didn't know he was going to move over. Also the biker was not able to see the parked truck blocking the taxi's. Point, People cant read minds.

I didn't really see the taxi do that much wrong, you were about to attempt an overtake before the taxi had left the lane you're in. He shouldn't have sworn at you, you shouldn't have put yourself into the position where you needed to use your horn by beginning an overtake while unaware if the taxi was even aware of your presence. Don't blame every other road user without looking at your own riding first - you were not faultless. Uploading to youtube because someone v signed you is pathetic too.

Motorcycle riding is not about quick reactions its about planning ahead and defensive riding. For example if I put my best trainers on and started sprinting up and down a busy high street complaining when people get in my way. Someone should pull me to one side and ask what the hell Im doing.

@Mathewmartialart Using a mobile phone is a lot more distracting than having a conversation with a passenger. 1/ You have to use your hand, so you do not have both hands available to operate the vehicle and you are dividing your suplimentary motor cortex part of your brain. Studies have proven this which is why it is illegal to use a hand held phone whilst driving in the UK. The taxi driver showed a lack of awareness and ability before demostrating a disregard for his and his passengers safety.

Many moons ago when I were a cycle messenger, I found the best thing is not to feed into situations.
Using reverse psychology I used to give awards for the worst driving. Best award went to a class 2 lorry driver doing a U turn on a one way whilst talking on the phone and eating a sandwich.
So many idiot drivers out there its beyond belief but to be fair I had my fair share of riding like a twat :)

Taxi driver did nothing wrong. Biker is aggressive. Funny how bikers always say that car drivers should treat a bike as if it was as wide as a car when a car is overtaking a bike but when a bike is overtaking a car they try to squeeze through small gaps in the traffic and expect car drivers to have eyes in the back and side of their heads to see them coming through. Also, the faster acceleration of a bike means they are behind you one second and beside you the next second.

@CycleDub Yes, mirrors are good but they have their limitations (there are still blind spots) which is why any decent driving instructor will always teach a student to swivel their head to point their eyes in the right direction to check for things in the blind spots. However, it takes a finite time to do that which is why motorbikes accelerating hard can seemingly come from nowhere! I think everyone driving in high density traffic conditions should take extra care but mistakes are inevitable.
