Have you tried smaller 316L stainless steel plates (or washers) sanded in a crosshatch pattern as electrodes? spaced about 2mm or less submerged into distilled water with a little potassium hydroxide. Using different set ups with neutral plates? No contaminants then. I really wonder how that will perform... looking forward to the next video on this.

You could go to the dump and get a stainless steel sink for your electrodes. Also you could space your plates alot closer so then you dont need much salt and it works very good when you do that.

probably the reason the platinum coating didnt hold up is either because of contamination or those tiny little scratches you leave behind after holding them. in your video here you showed us a scratched platter. you could see the scratches in the reflection of the sunlight. they must be clean and unhandled and THEN, theyll work ;)

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet. But part of what you are doing using aluminum platters, is plating with aluminum. The acid and current is dissolving aluminum from one platter and platiung it onto the other one.

Platinum is expensive, but you could always try switching to titanium. Much cheaper.

your problem is being caused by eletrol plating, a prosse use to plate metals with other metals by runnig a current throgh them. I suggest you ether use same metal all the way throgh revese the current back and forth alot.

Why not try using sodium sulfate as your electrolyte. You can mix up to about 15%. It's not near as harsh and will give good results. This is what some are using that have MMO coated plates in HHO generators.

I think this is a decent proof of concept. There are prototype setups out there using a large solar array to greate hydrogen which is then stored in large tanks to run heating and electric generators for the home. It's still too expensive to be truly practical (I think I read the setup cost the builder $80k) but the idea is sound. Good work and keep up the experiments. Zero pollution power, how cool is that?

This is due to the fact that burning gasoline produces more energy than burning hydrogen, so it would seem to follow that reducing hydrogen may actually take less energy than burning gasoline would provide from the generated oxygen. Thus you would receive apparent gains from simply burning gasoline more completely.

I said it was possible, not that it was definite, but you notice that in just about every setup that uses one of these generators, they have to tinker with the O2 sensor. They are fooling the computer into thinking there is less O2 than there really is. As for air/fuel ratio, air contains a constant amount of oxygen(~21%). Change the oxygen content and you get more energy per unit fuel(see blowtorches). However, you also reduce the life of the engine(again, see blowtorches).

Mainly, what I am getting at is that calling it a 'hydrogen generator' is something of a misnomer when it is probably the oxygen that is providing any gains received. Hydrogen would just be getting in the way, since it contains far less energy per unit fuel than does gasoline.

In regards to the car alternator, they have an exciter in the core. When the voltage is full in the battery or no load from fan lights etc, the exciter drops the magnetic field so the alternator just spins freely lightening the load on the car engine. When you draw from the alternator, HHO or headlamps etc. The magnetic field becomes very strong costing the engine fractional milage per gallon.

Your wasting your time using Platinum in water. You're right. I offer my apologies. Here is a bit of elementry science. Any time a coil is moved within a magnettic field, a current is produced. Move it away, and the current reverses. This is Faradays law, and the principle behind any electric motor, ac or dc. The current polarity moving back and forth is why we call it ac(alternating current). Dc, on the other hand, is produced in other ways like solar, electrochemical reactions, etc.

Dissociation by electrolysis gets more efficient the closer the plates are to each other. At 1/16" the rough voltage of 2.2-2.6v also contributes to the efficiency (too low and it shuts off, too high and it begins converting electricity to heat. Problem with having plates so close together is separation of gases becomes problematic.

HHO is not intended to be compressed or stored. Only "H". H comes off of the Cathode side or negative. O comes off of the Anode or positive. Home storing of H or O for that matter is dangerous but equally dangerous is medical or workshop O. O can explode without an oxidizer added like....O, because it is O. Compressed Hydrogen, acetylene, and Propane CANNOT ignite inside of a pressurized tank. The tank must first rupture. Google "Bleve". HHO compressed has O so It can ignite. Do not copress HHO.

If you do a bunch of research on wind generated turbines youll find the design to not be nearly as effective as a "normal" as far as the HHO being stable, the mixture is not. Its a highly combustable mixture that is dangerous. Think space shuttle booster fuel.

I agree with Scarecrow. SS is the best with regard to deteriation, but you might find success with less corrosive elements. I might think a series highlighting different electrolytes..gatorade, vinegar, baking soda, caustic soda, lemon juice etc might be cool.
