As much as I loved my fashion dolls, my sister and I couldn't get enough of those swords. We called them "soft bats".
Ours were a little more plush like, and I don't know how they were made, but I mean it when I say whaping each other with them was the bestest everest.
That... is a really nice way to make a sword. I wish I knew about this when my friends and I were hitting each other with "swords" in college, it has to be a lot softer than what we were using.
come on! i loved hitting my cousins black and blue, and the boys in my class, and still kinda do. i hated barbie, and i made little wooden swords and it looked like i was a satans priest when i turned them upside down, instead of those soft things that doesn't even hurt... thats for wuzzes... stop being so sexist. STOP IT!!
FYI viewers, it's a big improvement to cover the foam sword in duct tape. That secures the foam (don't want it sliding off) and protects it somewhat from wear. Look up boffers for more detail on how to make a good foam sword.

Am I the only one who thinks the guy in this video is gay? Homophobia and self-loathing runs rampant among closeted gays.
Equality is coming. The closeted right wing legislators, church-going "Christians" and others who are taking the side of the hate-obsessed anti-gay crusaders will secretly rejoice when they, at last, are declared EQUAL to all other citizens.
Life, liberty and the persuit of happiness. To decide that anyone does NOT deserve these inalinated rights is unconstitutional.
I agree with blueghist: great ballerina (or ninja guy)! :-D You're so right about the gender thing. My brothers would make our dolls do karate moves, much to my sister's and my dismay.
I used to tease my sons that their action figures were dolls - "go play with your doll" I said - and they answered "it's not a doll, it's a figure"! Every time - hihi - that's mommy fun!!!

Yeah, I definitely preferred fighting with swords and bows to playing with dolls. I actually made armor and little swords for my barbies.
