  • Growing up, some of my best memories as a small child were watching my parents jump and jive in pure jitterbug fashion. I was privileged to grow up in a home where Big Band music was played and appreciated! Watching Mom and Dad dance with such finesse and in total sync was pure entertainment. Melodies will always come and go, but TRULY GREAT music, as created in the Big Band Era, will never be surpassed!

Thanks Flash Mob Denver for sharing your talents - you were terrific!

  • And they say America isn't fun...

  • Ugh I hate flash mobs! I tried to walk through one a while back and got stuck salsa dancing for 12 minutes with a 2 minute solo

  • that so looked like charlie sheen in the beginning of the video ?!?!?!

  • Awesome! I hope nobody missed thier flight :-/

  • SO COOL!!!!! :)

  • Oh I LOVE this! So much fun!! Good jobs guys

  • Is it just me or is that charlie sheen at 0:04 ?

  • g

    cc

  • I've always wanted to dance like that. <3

  • My kind of music! How great to see swing and jitterbugging are alive and well in this soul-less, hip-hop world

  • Anyone else think the people in that flash mob are enormous douchebags?

Ooo look at me! they're all like.

  • Brilliant!

  • The most classy flash mob I've ever seen

  • Lindy Bombing FTW

  • most of the dancing is from the 20's

  • @indianajones2929 I believe it was more in the very late 30's and all the 40's into very early 50's. Much of the dance steps emanated from the late 20's and 30's, but the closeness and smoothness of partners dancing as with closeness was out of the 40's

  • Wish it was bigger

  • why doesnt this happen when im at dia?

  • for all the haters... "Flash mobs are a specific form of smart mob, originally describing a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual and pointless for a brief period of time, then quickly disperse. The term flash mob is claimed to have been inspired by "smart mob".[7] However, "flash mob" has been used by news media to refer to nearly any form of smart mob." Just sayin... Its hard for people to understand good taste. Especially when they have none..

  • i live 10 miles from there!! :D

  • i want all musics that are used in this video, can anyone help me with it pls? :)

  • In the Mood by Glenn Miller orchestra was the first one, I'm sure you can find all of them on swing music cd's.

  • I hope they didn't leave their bags unattended...

  • @mrblonde141 Boxer briefs are a must for that kind of fancy footwork.

  • Love it!

  • Missed it by 3 days :(

  • What's the song that starts at 3:03?! Please, I MUST know. thanks!

  • @TheLm005 It's called "Sing, Sing, Sing" :)

  • Great! Just what I needed. Would love to do that!

  • Well, I'm from Brazil...I just love american people!!!

  • Love this sooo much! Don't ever stop! I just wish I could witness one myself... ( : Love this generation of young people!

  • Fantastic! Great dancing, good music. I love it.

  • how embarassing cant anybody be original anymore !!!!!!

  • That was cool!!! :) love u Denver <3

  • 12 people is hardly a mob...

  • @JoMama12345678910111

That is exactly what I was thinking.

  • @JoMama12345678910111 I thought the same thing until I kept watching...

  • @JoMama12345678910111 M'friend, get glasses or learn how to count. There were many more than twelve people. Is your glass always half empty? Doesn't what's in it count? Poor thang.

  • This is on my bucket list...! 1) Witness a random flash mob. 2) Be a part of a random flash mob!

  • @joonipuur I think it would be so cool to do something like that just to see othrs smile

  • That is offically the best thing to wake up to an see : D It has made my day already!

  • how can you not smile when you see some mob of dancers or singers break out???

  • Sing sing sing.

    LOVE that piece. Benny Goodman's Ah-mazing. =P

  • Our teacher always said, "the first rule of dancing. .is to SMILE!" Best advice ever! Yay for swing!

  • I want to be part of a Flash Mob :)

  • Does anyone know the name of the first song?!

  • @CleansWithRag

    "In the Mood"

  • @robnofcs

    Thank you.

  • nice to see the young ones of today dancing like their parents and grandparents did....this is dancing!!

  • We need more airport entertainment, especially over the holidays, look at the crowd they gathered!

  • I wonder how many people missed their flights, hehe

  • 34 people are jealous they can't dance like this.

  • Delightful.

And if we're getting technical, I think this does qualify as a flash mob, at least from the perspective of a random traveler, who are the real target anyway.

  • Loved it! Took me back seventy years to when I could dance like that!... BHB, 86 this month!

  • @wigglietail2008: Happy Birthday!

  • @wigglietail2008 Your profile says you're 54.

  • Love it! We are all getting accustomed to being stuck in airports for one reason or another, so the entertainment is pretty uplifting. Although it may not be flash-mob in its true definition because it would no doubt require security approval, it does show that a mob performance can be a positive experience.

  • Did the charleston! Awesome xD

  • So Flash Mob is now defined as semi-professional dancing in public by hired dancers and being filmed by a professional film crew?

  • @gringo533 according to wikipedia this can fall on either the flash mob criteria, or on it's cousin, the smart mob. Depends on if the dancers were paid or not.

  • Comment removed

  • @Galtran Everyone volunteered their time. Even the choreographers and professionals :)

  • @Galtran SO WHAT!!! It was entertainment ans I wold imagine everyone enjoyed it and/or had fun! So why the critical comment ? Go to your room!

  • @philpdy Did you not read my comment? I only said two of the possible ways it could be called, in no way I said I did not enjoy this video and in no way I was critical in my comment. Gringo533 was. I only stated a matter of classification. Not it's enjoyability. Geesh.

  • I'd say 90-95% of these people are beginner to intermediate, and only a few are true professionals. No one was paid for this. Everyone volunteered their time, many taking work off on a busy Tuesday, to participate. To achieve this, the dancing community in Denver was brought together like it never has been before. The airport had the mob filmed for publicity and to promote their Art & Culture programs.

  • @TheDaedren You Sir/Madam are a pain in the ass. Why did you bother to watch this and must you find fault with everything.

Keep your GD negatives to yourself, or better yet, take them to the grave!

  • Im surprised the TSA didn't gun you down, or the National Guard didn't show up.

  • This crap wouldn't happen if they had just left the damn fountain in!

  • @Bochmaniac - Uh yeah, it's homosexual - that's why all the guys are dancing with girls! Sounds like you might have some issues... Dancing is fun and great exercise!

  • Every single person who disliked this was someone who missed their flight because of it. Why couldn't anything like this happen on one of the many times I flew to Denver?!

  • This was pretty homosexual....

  • @BoschmaniacRS Oh, honey, I think it's time you picked up a dictionary. Homosexual: of, relating to, or characterized by a tendency to direct sexual desire toward another of the same sex. I'm not sure how people dancing qualifies as such. A dance cannot have sexual tendencies, dear.

  • what you didn't see was the 100s of people who missed their flight by 5 minutes.

  • If they were Arab, they would have been arrested at gunpoint.

  • and then everyone was sent to Guantanamo for terrorism

  • this music was new when they started their drive in from downtown Denver

  • i'm waiting for an airport one where a employee driving a golf cart has to drive through a mob because Bertha's fat ass won't walk to Gate C...

  • Awh, I missed it! I want to do this so badly one day.

  • @Mumbai1526 same here. it would be so much fun! i live three hours away tho :/

  • Why am I never around when things like this happen?

  • Think how odd this must be for someone who just landed in from another country? DIA is an international airport after all.....

  • @Coolioflip666 Just so you know it, EVERY airport in the world is international

  • @donern1 Aaah, no, not every airport is international, sorry.

  • @donern1 You must not know what "international" means. International, when talking about airports, is that planes from that airport are expected to be able to fly in between nations. Though I live very close to DIA itself, I have a smaller airport not to far from my house at all, and I doubt its planes could fly me out of the nation.

  • Are you trying to say that aircraft can not fly to another nation from DIA? I think maybe you don't have a clue. Ask people in the flying business, I mean large aircraft that are equiped for that sort of thing - certainly not from apparently the airport close to you. I don't know where you live but, I don't believe there is an airport less than 75 miles from DIA that could support that. They must have runways long enough for the A/C that could go that distance - large enough for the fuel needed!

  • @philpdy No, the guy commented on my post saying that I was dumb, and that all airports are international. I was proving the point you are trying to prove. We are on the same side here.

  • Some of the tracks, if I remember correctly: "In the mood" and "Hooked on swing".

  • I thought this was great. Looks like a really fun time. I just wish I could have been in Denver at the time to witness this in person. All the dancers looked like they were just having a grand time. Thanks to all the performers....you did good!

  • Thumbs up if you kept trying to see the orange haired girl's cleavage.

  • There was a flashmob at the Denver Airport?! AND I MISSED IT?! AAAUGH

  • Meh. Hipsters.

  • @SickoDoom took the words right outta my mouth.

  • Maybe it's just me, but this didn't feel like a true flashmob. I didn't like the music or the dancing very much, it was kind of boring. Maybe the middle-aged to older gen. liked it better. -_-

  • @jessface777 I palm my face in shame. This comes from a generation who thinks screaming / yelling rhymes into a microphone and grinding together equates to music and dancing. These people were all dancing like a BOSS! A classy, successful mob boss! From the 1930s by the sound of it. :)

  • @Deneith Well sorry if I offended you, I just personally thought it was a bit boring. And I am pretty offended that you would assume all of the above about me just because I didn't love this video, because none of what you said is true of what I believe to be impressive singing and dancing. Personally, this wasn't my taste, and as far as flash mobs go, I mean, it was performed by a dance group, so it was legit, just not, flash-mobby in my opinion.

  • I love how they act like nothing happened. XD

  • 0:02-0:05 its Charly Sheen!!!

  • What's the name of the music starting at 3:20 ?

  • @Poupey Sing Sing Sing by Benny Goodman

  • that got boring within 10 seconds.

  • @joecooper18 then you didn't watch long enough. They were very good, in my opinion.

  • not a flashmob, paid entertainment by the airport who is playing the music and recording it with pro-videographers. Could only watch the whole thing if I was stuck in an airport and my flight is late...

  • Love the music. The dancers were super. This was a great way to take a littlebit of the stress out of holiday travel.

  • WHY IS MY LIFE NOT LIKE THIS.

    WHY.

  • Yeah for my hometown! Great music and terrific dancers. LOVED it.

  • This comment has been removed by the TSA.

  • Hey everyone. Excellent production!! Well done!

Can anyone help me out with a song titles/artist or performer by track?

I've got to own this music!!

Thanks - any help is appreciated...

  • heartwarming!! nice to see young people dancing, spreading joy and having fun!! it gives me hope for the future.

  • I thought this was AWESOME. I wish I could give more then one thumbs up. I did post to FB. Great MUSIC...

  • How much fun is that! What a nice gift for the travelers passing through at that time, and for the rest of us who were able to view this video.

  • Rich Clarkson...you nailed it again brother ! Great job !!!

  • I was gonna say, I'm pretty sure there's only 12, not 100. Makes sense half way through though.

  • You can tell it took a lot of time effort and talent from all sides of this video to make it come together. While flash mobs are becoming more and more prevelent, the capture and edit element is a time and resource that most of us don't take into account. Great job to all!

  • Ah, great: the ONE day I didn't go to Badminton International...;) Also fitting that the first song, "In the Mood," was Glenn Miller's signature song, and his boyhood home of Ft. Morgan is just a few miles east of BIA..and me!

  • The cool part of watching this beyond the great dancing was that everyone, spectators and dancers, was wearing a big ear to ear grin! Love the performance! Thanks "Mobsters"!

  • When I see flash mobs, I feel so happy and see the beautiful side in us humans - ah break from all the sad shit that goes on elsewhere! Thanks for the video :)

  • @amoljv1 Elsewhere? You mean everywhere. But then, happiness also exists places you wouldn't expect.

  • Comment removed

  • @slumdog01 By elsewhere I meant in obvious places where people behave badly with each others and in places where fellow human beings are behaved with inhumanely, not everywhere of course. Thanks for replying :)

  • hahaha nice!!! got a few friends in there, way ta brighten up the holidays guys

  • As one of the dancers, I would love all the naysayers to make, please, a video of their own choreographed dance and post it as a response to this one. Can't wait to see the results!

People will have opinions, but it's easy to criticize. It's more difficult to do.

  • Charlie Sheen at 0:03.

  • I wish I could have been there to see it!

  • For all the years youtube was around, I was beginning to think my state was unknown seeing as I could barely find a single video in Denver, yet in LA or New York you can find thousands of videos of the same thing. Great work!

  • cool!

  • Oh, I love this!!!

  • TO douglasokc

I have found that snobs don't dance. Maybe you should practice and quit throwing daggers.

TO the Denver Swing Mob ------BRAVO

Swing dance is difficult and exhausting and yet so beautiful.

Wow! What an inspiration. Thank you.

  • Wow what a way to make miserable, tense, stressed out travelers smile and relax. Great job.

  • man some of those girls are sexy! i love a woman that can dance! and im not talking about grinding at a club... like this kinda dance haha

  • Pretty cool. Hey, some of the folks dancing might well have been gay and lesbian...dance has no sexual orientation...you're pushing an agenda.

  • baaaaaaaaaa humbug I say

  • Charlie Sheen at 0:04?

  • Thought you guys were great! Wish I could have been a part of it

  • This was very cool! Great for the passengers waiting for connections and a good image for the airport. Made a lot of people happy and that's a good thing. Keep them coming!

  • Great to see so many people smiling, in a airport!!!! Quit hacking on the choreography, it was a fun dance meant to spread a little happiness. Love it!

  • So Proud of you D-Town! Flash Mobs are so important in this day and age. They remind us to stop for a moment and rejoice in being ALIVE! And this one was in my home town. Love it! Made me cry :)

  • Awesome job Denver airport!

Next time something like this happens that involves couples dancing, it would be nice to see gay and lesbian couples included - otherwise it feels as if we are being left out, and that's never a good feeling, especially when it's organized by an official airport.

  • @22149SF I am sure any gay oe lesbian cple could have joined in, assuming they went to this dance studio that provided the free show.

  • @22149SF If you look closer, you'd see that there were some female-female couples in the mob. There's also a good representation of gays / lesbians in the dance community, because we are one of the more accepting social groups. People were allowed to join this flash mob in whatever partnership they wanted, the fact is when it comes to performance-oriented things people tend towards the traditional male-female coupling.

  • bravo!!!!!

  • Bravo Denver. Great job.

  • SUPER DUPER!!!

  • awwww I missed seeding this by like 2 days!!!!!!!! bummer.

  • most boring flash mob ever lol

  • it was sweet/ it was nice/ it was corn. just a fact. And it felt like an up with people bit/ not a flash mob. The staging and the dancing were Ok and a B+ effort; but watching flash mobs for years on Youtube has taught me one thing: it has to have a bit of magic and be the moment and that the starting dancers just inspire the rest to join in. Now this Denver bit is more like Lawrence Welk, sorry kids.

  • Who are the 16 Scrooges that DON'T like this video?

Lumps of coal for ALL of you, along with stale bread and water for dinner.

  • @lilsuzq32 some people will kill for that

  • Central Park Swing Flash Mob 7.24.2011

is much more detailed if you know of flash mobs. If you are caught in NYC you will be fined for assembling without a permit etc,

This one is cute but needs more to impress,

  • I'm surprised TSA didn't beat these people.

  • @ih8suvz

They probably had to talk with them before doing it. They would have to get permission.

  • I <3 flash mobs

  • Possible terrorist threat.

  • GREAT JOB - WHAT FUN - WHAT A GREAT GIFT!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!! WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE!!

  • NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL COOL

  • what were all the songs played?? and great job on the dances keep it up!!!

  • love all of you guys! too bad i couldn't be there with yall :)

  • delightful. thx 4 posting. we all need a flash of sheer happiness :)

  • @connellc100 - Did you watch the whole video? :) Indeed it is a mob for the last three minutes.

  • It's not much a "mob" as it is a small group.

  • I guess I'm amazed no one joined them. How can you not dance to that music?

  • Occupy wallstreet should learn how to do this

  • LOVE IT! flew out of DIA many times to Florida and sooooo sad this never happened when I was there ):

  • Well done.... looks very well cooreagraphed and i would pay these people to perform on daily basis to entertain my travelers

  • Ans someone had the good sense to wear a Devin Hester Jersey! Go Bears!

  • This is so awesome! Wish I could be there too!

  • Just amazing

  • I hate to travel and this definitely would of brightened up my day

  • This is so FUN! I wish my jazz choir would arange something like this somewhere. We have been learning swing dance and it's so fun. These people did great!

  • meanwhile the terrorists boarded safely

  • I can't believe this video got any dislikes. You may not like some of the choreography, or some music, or some of the dancing, or some of the dancers... but what a fun thing to do! And I bet organizing this was not an easy feat! To make 100 people dance in sync even a simple choreography is insanely difficult, not to mention getting them past the TSA molesters. Kudos, Denver! Well done!

  • I WAS THERE THAT DAY BUT I MISSED THIS! nooooo

  • BRAVO DENVER!! I hope this really catches on. Maybe dance schools will start cropping up all over teaching this!! What fun that would be.

Thank you Denver for the great idea!!!
