if u have ever listen to songs like date rape and same in the end and all you need, how the raggae punk/ska strumming goes, im always off beat when i try to play it, how do i fix that ive been practicing for way too long and im not getting better at it
Can you please do a vid abot how to set up your guitar and amp and what distortion pedals you are rocking right now to get the pitch of your guitar...my amp and guitar sound like 80's hair metal its no bueno
I like the video player on "reggaelinx website"better, it allows you to zoom in and play in slow motion. Plus they allow you to play your own playlist. You guys should check it out.
Ok, I'm a leadguitarist checkin out these vids outta curriousity. I'm also a drummer, learned in school band. So I learned proper techneque. He's doing really good on the counting, and being a drummer also, I totally understand. My question is, "tho theres no other way for him to show it" but does make me wonder of those who dont have drum background. Are you guys picking this up easily? Ya gettin it? And it makes me wonder. ha ah
I remember learning Hotel California from this dude 4 or 5 years ago when I first started playing guitar. After all the time and practice I've had since then, he's still teaching guitar on youtube like nobody I've ever seen.
the 3's mean your index finger is baring on the 3rd fret your middle finger is on the 5th fret and your next finger is on the 5th fret and your little finger is on the 4th fret and the number start from the fattest string going down to the thinnest string! if thats any help? oh and that stly of reading music is called tab!
@TheOzzyCometh No, accents are put on 2nd and 4th of course. But, believe me or not, it's up ( mute ), down ( chords ) up ( mute ) down ( chord ) for Ska beat. And you cut the sound with left hand if you are right-handed. Listen old Jamaican Ska like Tommy Mccook and Skatalites. For reggae, down stroke is often used for skunking and upstroke is used for muting. Well it actually depends what kind of sound texture you want and there are no rules though.
@SmokeandRide22 i wanted to joke about g strings and fingering chords, but you're right. this is an awesome free lesson. i wish he would play something!!! Awesome job man! wish i had a guitar with me here

@kshackdabullet Would you like to state any facts to further your argument? The fact is, reggae = ska + black nationalism + rastafarianism. In my opinion, ska > reggae. I didn't say anything disrespectful about rastafarianism, just that it ruined ska. Hell, look what it did to the Bad Brains.
