I mame across a GREAT deal on a CANON XTI outfit for a super price!, MY issue was viewing subject matter in the REAR display screen as well as through the prism finder., I was pleasantly surprised that the XTI requires a FLASH CARD instead of an SD card,, indicative of upper -end DSLR's
Hey, I just got this camera and am trying to figure it all out. Is there a 400 and a 400D model? In the manual and in your video it shows in the menu a "camera icon 1" and a "Camera icon 2". I only seem to show just the one. Also, I do not have the Raw option which you talked about. Not sure if I'm missing something simple. Thanks.
Whats up. I bought my Digital Canon KIss X/ 400 D in 2009 while in Korea and I was wondering if you know a way to easily clean the (inside) view finder thing.... It's like a white screen just inside the veiw finder. It's ridiculously annoying. I'm just starting out with this. Thanks for the vids.
@fastcater85 the reason this happens is because the camera has a sensor that turns off the screen when you put your face near the prism. This is to stop any miscalculation in exposure.
hey i just bought a canon rebel xs.. and it says no card.. after i take pictures.. i haven't put a memory card yet.. i still need to buy it.. doesn't it have any memory on its own??? like for a few pics like other digi cams??
Thanks Jamie! Even though iv had my Canon 400D for over a year now, lol the basic guide u showed was very helpful! However I have along way to go to better my photos! I just checked out ur gallery, ur photos are amazing, well done!! The sky in the Cardiff Harbour image is beyond words!!
Once you are comfortable with ISO, Shutter speed and aperture settings manual would be.
Other wise I would use aperture priority. With a average f number (f8-f11) so everyone is in focus. Make sure the shutter speed is less than 1/60th of second for minimal camera shake (unless using a tripod). If it is longer than that higher the ISO a little.
hey thank you for this helpfull video, could you please tell me what is the best mode or setting to be used indoor for taking a picture of many people at the same time???
hi. any idea what mode to use when doing a night time landscape shot? do i use the flash or take it off? for example if i wanted a nice shot of big ben
For this no flash and you will need a fairly long exposure.
If you don't want to use manual mode use P mode. This well set the exposure and aperture for you according to the lighting. If you want more in focus you will have to have a lower fstop number which means higher actual number as they are the opposite, but this will results in longer exposure. You will need a tripod for best results.

@jmonie02 For removing dust or other minute particles get yourself a can of compressed air, it works wonders.

can you record video with this camera?
KillaCal 1 year ago
@KillaCal You can't with the Canon 400D, I believe in the xxx range it is the Canon 500D you would need to record video.

Best to get a memory card quickly :)
