  • Lame. This was not advanced, nor is a purple belt an "expert".

  • @hardcastleian getting a purple belt from a deccent gym takes anywhere from 4-6 years I believe thats enough experiance to talk about a gaurd pass. So please stop trolling BZ

  • you forgot the other hook with your other leg

  • yeah go ahead and try it the way they do it in the vid and your way i cant believe he is missing so much those little mistakes wiould get you pawned live

  • 2 mistakes,, first dont grab the belt, it moves too much. grab the pants at the waist and tuck the elbows in. second, when starting the transition the left hand should go behind the head and grab the collar, not over the face giving room to shrimp Im just a white belt 3 stripe in a Gracie Barra school so, so much for advanced

  • I don't really think this is advanced because i learned this move in my class but I'm not in advanced so it's more like a beginner move.

  • Bravo, Another shit video from "EXPERT village."

  • he could use his right leg, to step on, then move the other leg over. (press across the chest so the guy will not roll over.)

  • no gi!

  • nope look at the color arounnd his waist dunb ass

  • who was teaching, a white belt?? LOL!!

  • Hey Don,

Long time no see. Nice set of video clips.

  • It's funny how this says advanced, yet this is the first thing I was taught.

  • This is an effective move for passing the guard, but if i might just add one small little detail guys. It is fairly important to be quick and careful doing this, because if when you move back, you create even a small amount of space, the person in guard can throw their legs over the top of your shoulders, grab your wrists, and then plank and all of a sudden you are in a double arm bar, and that is not fun to get out of.

  • advanced? --^

  • Can never get enough of the basics ^^

  • hey i got a question

how would the guy in the bottom (guard position) prevent this pass from happening?

  • simply keep him from placing his hands on your belt by breaking his grip, without it he can't create space needed to break the guard. theres other ways but this is just one of them.

  • You want to keep his torso as close to yours as possible, by controlling his head/gi. Also, when he drops his elbow to pin your knee, you can roll him over by grabbing his wrists or if he has them locked into your belt, when you roll on top, you'll be in full mount. I hope that helps ^_^

  • if the pass has already begun and the guard player is not actively attacking, then moving to half guard to a sweep would work.

for the pass to begin, the pass player must gain correct posture. attack by breaking down posture. then work to attack or sweep.

  • when he first pins the leg down with the arm you can go for triangle since his other arm is still gonna be deep in your guard..or switch to an open guard like butterfly or spider once you feel your feet break..this is the pass i use the most and the most common counter i come across is the triangle, especially in no gi

  • You guys are all HATERS.

    Appreciate the move.

You guys are honestly talking shit because they called this move "Advanced"?

    ITS YOUTUBE!

I could post a video of me taking a shit, and telling the world its "THE BEST SHIT IN THE WORLD!"

    Fucking losers...

  • Ok. I'm not going to say that I learned this my first day. We learned the Gracie Pass first.

The knee over came the next week.

This is about as advanced as the upa and bridge, but at least it's accurately explained.

  • i learnt this the first day of training lmao first day how is that advanced :S

  • advanced are you stupid? he only got purpule belt and it's one of the things you learn the first months of traning

  • advanced ??

  • it is pretty simple lawl... i havnt practiced in 2 years rofl ... managed to pull it off on a pissed buddy =p

  • as the guys in the lower comments say, I never practiced jiu jitsu and it looks simple enough to me

  • Hey that guy in the guard positions, I think its verry hard to get out.

Moslty when im in the guard i can't get out.

  • Every move in bjj looks easier than it is to actually do. Especially in an actual confrontation with your opponent going full force

  • agree

  • faggot

    vvvv

  • wow i missed once, and got a triangle as result lol

  • No that's not an advanced move, we learned it on one of the basic MMA classes

  • you are my hero...

  • Why did i get a thumbs down i wasn't kidding aobut our blue's, we had a purple belt from one of the miami schools come down to spar with our purples, and one of our blues decided to go against him for fun, and the purple had alot of trouble. I was laughing alot, altho the purple would kick my ass.

  • This is not advance, this is actually a quite basic move.

  • great stuff for 1 on 1 but multiple people ju jitsu wont work today ju jitsu students need to adress that problem.

  • Lol I learned this as a white belt in BJJ, I love my master tho, 30 years of experience and he was trained by royce gracie himself in Rio. If you came to our school, our blue belts would destroy any purple in other schools.

  • these guys are posers aha im trained from fabio leopoldo this shiz wont even be this crappy in our intro. his side contol is wrong and he didnt take contoll of the leg bafooon

  • why isnt the other guy fighting back?? its ALOT harder when someones punching you or sticking there thumb in your neck, he souldnt take that shit man!!!!

  • because its a demonstration of a technique so you can learn it, not a tournament.

  • some details missing ! you have to step up with the other leg and keep pressure so he cant close half guard .. also while kicking the leg over to pass , his hips are loose until you get the knee there , so he can escape!! you have to bring your hand next to his hips until ur knee comes into position !

  • wow totally wrong and far from advanced, your right arm needs to be cradling inside his left leg as you step over, if you don't do that he would bridge you right off , try it and you will see what I mean.

  • yea this is kool but i dont think its that advanced because i just learned this in my jiu-jitsu class and i learned it in one night.

  • another way to pass guard is by posturing up and placing your knee right in his tailbone. after that sprawl your leg out while your elbows are tight in on his inner thigh the apply pressure look towards your foot. then get double under hook while applying all your pressure onhis chest and then simply pass guard

  • well it's advanced for nerds that sit on their computer chair for 8 hours straight

  • couldnt he just then take his right arm and lift you up and cause you to do a front roll off of him?

  • Some pretty advanced stuff...

  • this works well untill u get a bigger guy with strong legs who can keep they're legs locked thats a problem alot of ppl run into when they go against me and they get stuck in my gaurd

  • yeah youll need to learn a standing guard pass, and make sure you dont get tripped though

  • brag on yourself on youtube =p

  • i don't like it b/c the title is 'advanced'. i think to break the guard open normally takes more than a simple push on the belt and dropping the leg back. not to mention it is hard to drop that leg unless the opponent gets lazy with it. i like some of the concepts (esp after he gets the guys leg down) but think this would be better titled 'beginner jiu-jitsu'.

  • Although it is a simple move, the guard break does work pretty well as long as you keep his hips on the ground. And using your elbow on the sensitive inner thigh can usually pin his leg to the ground. The hard part is not being swept during the transition. This is a basic move that only advanced guys do well.

  • Thanks for the tips....
