to all who grunted: even the pockets are big, even the cloth is slow, he's great, accurate and stable, if you thought that's easy, do a century run at your favorite table and post here, jealous asshole
It's been a while since I played 14 1. I mainly play snooker now. Yet I should go back to trying 8 ball, 9 ball, 14.1, and carom again. I love all cue sports.
on the first rack, why is his run only at 13 when he racks again? where did the 14th ball go? (not counting the break ball left on the table for all you who would immediately inquire....)
nope, oddly enough, he's one of the very few pool players who prefer using a snooker cue for most shots, raising some eyebrows whereever he plays. those snooker cues do tend to look like sneaky petes, you're right.
Traceurb Not always. If it is obvious what you are going for then no you don't. If you are playing by yourself you don't. The formality isn't required when you are just by yourself.
No reason not to be impressed - no good to downplay nor exaggerate either one's own or anyone else's achievements, I feel. A nice run's a nice run, period.
Slower cloth doesn't make the cluster or break more difficult; in fact just the opposite is true: faster cloth will make the balls move faster to the rail and back to their original positions! Slower cloth will just move the ball out slower. Slower cloth also in playing position and pattern play since the cue ball is easier to control and less skidding occurs.
I can pretty much guarantee this was not on Simonis 860 and no way was it 760.
on the other hand, fast cloth allows for more control with less power. drawing the ball back with slow shots doesn't work very well on this kind of cloth, so you always have to use a little more power than may be healthy for your pocketing accuracy. in other words, controlling the cue ball is easier on fast tables.
thanks, man. actually he's using a snooker cue most of the time, but not for break shots and in certain other situations, so you weren't quite wrong in the first place. :P
may seem rather strange to people, but i think he proves here that playing pool with a snooker cue works quite well.
Great run. Scoring each ball is causing the screen to lock up when the numbers change - I have found that it is best not to use the numbers on the screen. If you would like, you can send this to me and I can add commentary - just remove the numbers and the fast forwarding between racks. I can also ask Thorsten or Ralf if they would like to add commentary in German. Just let me know.
@johnnyfin1
are you still searching a straight pool opponent ?
Were exactly do you live ?

@78hdshovel it's because when he began the run, there were just 14 left on the table. he simply missed the very shot before the video starts.

Really? that's incredibally interesting; I would never try a straight pool run like that unless I had my P3 on me lol

Splendid indeed. I totally agree, 14.1 truly does separate the men from the boys, so to speak. It's the game of real pool players.

Very very nice. Good editing too. 14.1 is the ultimate game, and you have a pretty damn good handle on it!

Slow cloth, huge pockets. Good nonetheless.
