From what I gather, Chaos is the Messenger, The "Spirit Over Town" is Shinryu, and the Righteous Man is Cid of the Lufein. The Avenger i think specifically refers to the Warrior of Light, and the Mother is Cosmos. The Pilgrims are Cosmos's Warriors as a whole, where the Marching band are the warriors of Chaos.

let me clear it up for all those who dont know, THIS SONG IS NOT, AND NEVER WAS IN THE GAME. Although it is understandable because there are about three songs which have the same lyrics now, cosmos, the chaos battle theme and this "the messenger". i think that the chaos battle theme is the original and that"the messenger" is yet another look or cover of the song. this song might at some point become DLC which you can get but for now, it's not in the game.

This song is atually on the OST because thiis the actual song, which the others are based off of not the other way around liek your implying.

This song actually is in game, you need to get all the Cosmos and Chaos reports. To get Cosmos reports, beat Shades of Impulse 4 with every Cosmos character. To get Chaos reports, beat their "opposite" in the duel arena eg. Cloud and Sephiroth, Tidus and Jecht, Zidane and Kuja, etc. Then go buy it in the PP Shop and Voila, new song

If you don't already have it unlocked (It's called DFF - Chaos: Last Battle 1) then you have to beat Shade Impulse once with any character. After that, the song will automatically be available to you in the Museum and/or battle preparations
