  • Could you please put tabs??? I coudnt hear which frets you said to put your fingers on. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

  • Tom Petty is a legend....thanks dude for this version....top stuff

    harrydave - london

  • THANKS BRO

  • thanks man helped alot :)

  • thanks man

  • I am not a guitar snob, but the live version Mayer does is very easy, and sounds alot better. I can't see how someone would struggle with the real version, it has about 5 positions very low on the fret board.

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

  • just do the same thing 3 frets up

  • i love this version the most, and always will.

Petty himself played this while he sang everything.....GO PETTY!

  • D,Dsus4,Asus4 are indeed the 3 correct chords to this song and it is the easiest song in the world to play

  • yes

  • How goes the strum?

    down, down, down, up, down?

  • nice ibanez btw. i have an ibanez also :)

  • Thanks man! I sold this one awhile back and wish I still had it! But I picked up an Ibanez aw200ecvv and she does pretty well also:)

  • lol, this is like the easiest song ever!! but it still rocks! no doubt about that! did, anyone see him on the superbowl halftime. his voice sounded great!!

  • Yea that was a great show!! Tom's always been a favorite of mine....It's amazing what you can do with 3 chords...lol

  • its a three chord song dude, why are you trying to complicate it?....G-C-C-G-D the whole way through! just alternate strum pattern

  • Hey man, I posted it this way by request. I think it helps to be able to play it diffrent ways. What's the fun when everyone sits around and plays the exact same thing? This goes great with the GCCGD progression as a background riff. Once you play it this way a few times it's actually much easier, not more complicated! Then again everyone is diffrent and that's just another reason for more than one take on a song. Thanks for the comment! Peace! BTW It's still a 3 chord song this way...

  • G-C-C-G-D does not sound right to me at all. i like this dudes better.

  • Actually I play it D G G D A (capo 3rd)

  • Or for a simpler version of the last note, you could just lift your middle finger, it helps for starters

  • Thanks a lot.

  • yeah i need to get me one of those capo thingys lol anyways another great petty song that i would love to learn . you rock buddy

  • Hey paintermanone good stuff love this tune used to play it a lot keep on boogieing
