It doesnt need physical strength in my oppinion.. theres just a very narrow space where it can easily slide open/closed

This one and the helix need a lot of precision and physical strength. Vortex needs it to pop that last move back together and helix needs it both ways. In fact, my helix is now easier to do after a few times and you can see it wearing out the resistance parts. My vortex is probably going to wear out on that last move too. IMO, that puts both these below something like the Sphere or H&H.

I have watched all the videos and if you watch and listen carefully it seems there are snap sounds corresponding with visible movement jerks that give me the impression that forcing is required...

Wow, taking it apart wasn't that hard, i looked at this video, memorized some parts and managed to do it by myself, (sort of) but piexcing it back together wouldn't have worked without your help, i guess i'm not that technically advanced.

May i ask how long it took you to get it back together at first?

@DaZeDmerlin Yeah I have the same problem with most of the puzzles that I've done...I can get them apart rather easily but putting them back together is a lot more difficult. It took me about 2 weeks to put back together and figure out how to do it repeatedly

@dlwroe Well, congratulations for your motivation and patience, i know i don't have a loty of patience, so i looked for a video rather quickly, but after a few looks at this one i did try to take it apart without looking, but getting it back together wouldn't have worked without this video, i was totally annoyed and frustrated, even with your instructions the last step was totally frustrating, i don't think i'll be taking it apart any time soon, lol.Thanks!

my puzzle must have been bent wrong. The vortex and Ay piece are not close to being aligned so you can open them. the other pieces more free but not those 2 parts together. That is why I can't get past the first step

@22Bubba221 Lol!  Yeah, I got so frustrated with this one, even though its supposed to be a 5, I have solved 6's so much faster than this one. This is the only one I got so frustrated with that I went online to look up a solution and when I found that there wasnt one at the time I looked I was determined all the more to find a solution and post it. Glad it worked for you.

i got one as a present and i find those kind of puzzles really frustrating. especially when you have so little visual reference of how you can move them and if you are even going the right way.

this really removed a stress factor from my life!

You lost me on step 1. "Put your thumb in the middle and pop the puzzle open"... Can't for the life of me get anything to move like you do. The pieces shift somewhat, but they will not "open" the way you do. Frustrating!

Thank you very much dude! This was a gift and it was my first Hanayama puzzles. I just wanted to reengage this cause i get it muck far and i could do nothing. I am going to buy some more of these Hanayama puzzles and when the time comes, I 'll deal with the Vortex again! ;-)

my gf got this puzzle and started to take it apart, but she got stuck and gave up...

then she gave it to me, and i took it apart in about 1 min.

she couldnt believe it, but i guess she had done the hardest part aleady haha..

after completely taking it apart, i thought i would try putting it back together, but then i realised i had no idea what it looked like at the beginning! that was very painful, i must say..but the first 1minute of this video was all i needed to re-asemble it. many thanks

I actually watched this video so I could figure out how to put it back together. I recieved this puzzle as a gift, and was challenged to complete it blinfolded.

20 minutes later, Success! ... The only problem: I had no idea how to put it back together.

OK i DID it !! But the end was of my own idea , i could not pot the vortex to the haneyama becouse there was no space too do this , so ive rotated A.Y insted of trying too put vortex to the head of Haneyama and it worked , eather your puzzle is slightlly diffrent or durring your explenation you did something you dident say or something that cannot be seen during this video

i need help with this , the puzzle is awsome , i took it apart on my own but puting it back was a bit above my skill , but i have a problem with the end , when the Vortex is loose and A.Y and Haneyama are allined (i hope i sied it wright) and i have too put the vortex from one hole to the other , it just dosent fit , i magane too put vortex from one hole too the other but i cant put it back togeter becouse Vortex is blocking Haneyama and i cant put it back with A.Y and you did it just like that

I can get my puzzle to the 4:35 mark, but no matter what I do, I can't get the next step to work.. There is simply no place for the head of the vortex to go while trying to move the tail into the other gap.

Watched this video over and over again.. I still cant add it back again.. I managed to unplug them without any help in 3 days, but to get it back, its to hard :D this video is almost as hard as the vortex itself :D

I have a serious question. Someone at work brought one of these in, but the pieces are shaped a little differently. All of yours in the video have an opening, but only 2 of the ones at work have an opening. Have you ever seen a different version of the puzzle? Could this one be modified? The metal seems pretty sturdy and I haven't seen any tool marks on it. Plus I found a pdf of the solution which also shows the pieces as yours. What is you take on this?

The vortex head piece is the smallest loop. It's like the eye of a needle. However, there is a small gap in the head piece. That gap in the vortex piece is what you want to pass through the notch in the hanayama piece. The notch is about half way up the hanayama piece.

I'm glad that you got it done! There are some things that I have given up on, but the fun for me is the challenge. I just mess around with it for a little while and eventually I get it apart. Otherwise when my wife is using the computer I figure them out and then just do it a bunch of times to memorize what I did. I couldnt figure out the hanayama News though.

Rotate the piece so that the "nob" is out of the way, then you can disengage it. Take it step by step, pause the video and do it. Let me know. ~D~

I can't do the first part, when you "disengage" one of them. i think maybe my puzzle is a little broken or deformed.
