  • just curious... dose this stuff have to be disposed of at selective places, like batteries and cell phones because their not biodegradable...

  • 100 years from now there will still be magazines and books because it is part of the modern lifestyle that never gets old. We have sports and luxury cars with fuel efficient technology, and yet bicycles are still making sales. Why?

  • @rcjteng Because Bike's are $200, and sports/luxury cars are +30,000.

  • Yes, but will it blend?

  • maybe THIS IS the future and maybe things dont get more creative than this, maybe the tecknology has come as far as it ever gonna be?

  • maybe in the future people can create planets and stars.:)))

  • Magazines an books are doomed. There is soon no justifiable reason to continue printing tons of books and magazines. What are they not getting? How many people still shoot film in their cameras?

  • damn i thought this was for a gun when i clicked it. I WANT MY VIEW BACK!!!!!!

  • Electronic magazines. We would save the world from cutting down trees, making ink, using plastic for printers and throwing out ink carts and filling up landfills, but would fire every person responsible for manufacturing magazines.

  • how much would that cost? alot maybe 30bucks for a mag.

  • Electronic toilet paper would shock your hole.

  • they could ultimately save paper with modular digital picture/sound/text. also, we soon will have wireless power distributions (not the wireless pad charger). which would enable them to power these paper indefinately.

  • yeahh!!! kkk! you can whip your ass with it!!!!

  • they need to work on the battery life part if they continue with this because I don't know about the rest of you but I can be a magazine horder

  • Online women for dating # lushfmlk.info #

  • That thing has multi-paper, batteries, oleds and electronics in it. How do you recycle it efficiently? We're not living in the 60's anymore you know.

Electronic paper will be a fact in the near future, but it will just be like a normal computer with a browser where you can subscribe to your magazines online. Not like this retarded crap.

  • My magazines aren't expensive enough. I'm glad somebody is doing something about that.

  • I had a great idea for a Magazine of the future. You buy the electronic magazine once and every month or week or whenever it releases a new issue, if you have a subscription it updates every page to the new issue while saving previous issues you can go back to. If you do not have a subscription, you can purchase future issues electronically and it will update every page to the newest issue while saving the ones you have paid for. That's just my idea being thrown out there...

  • @vaibanez17 or, or, just get an ipad-like-thing (you know, something cheep) or maybe a kindle, and get the subscription that way. saves paper too so it'd be green.

  • @recneps4444 You apparently don't know how "cheap" the Ipad or Kindles are.

  • @TheFreebornFanatic no, i ment something like it... a generic if you will.

(if there even is an affordable brand)

    know what i mean?

  • @recneps4444 Ah, okay. I see. ; )

  • And 2 years later. Nothing.

  • nice technology but too bad they're not doing anything more creative with hi - I mean flashing text?! Something more amazing would have made it worthwhile.

  • That will be awesome if you read a gaming magazine then you can play demos of games.

    :D

  • @20Justin1 wow ur dumb....

  • WHATS SO BAD?!?! Video Game hater :P

  • That would be awesome,BUT....

    yes i have a but

is it really all that nessaary to waste money on that while people have portable telovisions with news ON IT

  • Oh my god why would you ever want an electronic magazine. Like really no one would buy it it would be so expensive.

  • is it really necessary to have an electronic magazine??? what's next, electronic toilet paper?

  • eletronic toilet paper, good one XD

  • good point! absolutely right! this is completely unnecessary.

  • lol the thought of wiping our ass with electricity is fucking hilarious

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 lol thats right

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 it wipes your ass for you.

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 paper economy.

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 i'd buy electronic T.P.!

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 Well the point of that is to save paper.. Imagine how many magazines, books etc.. people read once and just throw away. With e-paper you could save all the books and magazines and wouldn't have to use so much paper, and of you could download anything for it with any language.

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 I agree but I have to admit it is pretty cool

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 yeah unless you want to keep cutting down trees at a faster rate than they're being replaced. think about all the waste of paper. i remember in school they handed out magazines, no one even read them and at the end of the class ended up in the garbage. is that logical to you?

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 im talking about digital books by the way, not this piece of sht :P

  • Comment removed

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 im guessing the fact that paper consumption would be reduced did not spark in your enormous brain. :-D

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 u know i also take it back because i thought this was an OLED magaize.....this thing just looks rediculous......but the point remains, OLED one page foldable newspapers/magazined/books are a great way to save trees

  • @Pr3dat0r5000

    i would personally love that.

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 Everything gets innovated :P

  • @Pr3dat0r5000 will save a lot of paper.

  • psshh man i bet a mag will be like 50 bucks

  • They're already 5 bucks.

  • yay!!! i guess electricity doesnt matter right

  • Well of course I'd like some electronic waste in addition to my paper waste! Thank you!

  • Welcome to the world of the "Minority Report" NOT silly " Harry Potter !"

  • Harry Potter, here we come!

  • Just simple waste. Expensive and poluent.

  • uhhhh....nope, fuckin luddite!

  • much easier read it online

  • Where's the color? Where's the animation? We should've been here 10 years ago. Cool, but not that cool.

  • Be patient. It might be expensive to do the colorful animations. And it might influence the price of the magazines. Plus, will people buy the magazines just because of colorful animations? No one knows. These are might be just "pilot" experimental issues. We people expect too much coz we have seen too much science fiction movies.

  • "The cover of the october issue is electronic"... the voice of AP's Ted Shaffrey is too!

  • Ted Shaffrey, the Associated PRASS ¬

  • how is it doing that?

  • its just led under a photo

  • Obrigado por me apresentar a historia.

    Valeu... Rosieny Tomaz

  • They need to have animation in magazines, not christmas lights shining.

  • newspaper with mp3 music playing ? videos and all ? well hello !

  • stupid

  • this is like the newspapers in harrypotter

  • GOOD IDEA MAN! I WANT IT

  • i cant wait till we get technology as good as mass effect so we can just explore planets and stuff although i wont be alive when we do lol

  • Sure you will. We are only years; if not months away from taking tours to the moon. It will only be a matter of time before solar travel becomes a reality.

  • Stupid idea. I can read all the magazine content at home on internet. Or on my palmtop. It's not gonna happen. Animated t-shirt is a great idea.

  • what a bad use of e ink

  • I can't wait for animated t-shirts

  • COOL!!!!

  • This is horrible dont waste paper and stuff to make this... people should just read the stuff for free online....????

  • i think the idea is dumb, willl cost more to publish the mags. and people dont realy care to much if magazines light up like that, stupid concept. just go on the internet, you would get more info there then you would in a magazine

  • No, youve got it wrong. Once the pixel-defined e-ink displays become cheaper and more flexible, one e-ink sheet could replace the entire magazine - not just be a flashy advertising gimick. In this way the content would be dynamically updated from the internet which does give access to mounds of info compared to magazines.

  • ^^ That was a reply to JUKIO01

  • too ordinary presentation, didn't show how the imression & usability of e-papaer!

  • It's a bold idea, but it has a long way to go. The front cover can't even flex, how silly is that? Perhaps when nanotechnology blooms we could see something a lot better roll around...

  • actually the front cover can bend its foldable electronic paper that people will soon be able to write on

  • This Iidea was in a movie some years ago. I think it was big with Tom Hanks.

It's an old idea Hanks was a young man.

  • blinking lights, whoop dee doo.

  • cool, like i would buy em, but we could spend

our time doing so much more

but still this is a cool little side project

  • exactly what we need more technology in the garbage... go ahead kill the earth, what do we care.

  • This technology will actually save more trees

  • whaaaa stupid, why not just read it online?

  • what happens when the mailman reaches it out to put it in the mailbox and its raining, or if your reading it and you drop it in your toilet?

  • What do you usually do when you drop a magazine in your toilet?

  • um, ah, thats never happened to me, what are you talking about?

  • Thats awesome

  • I wouldn't invest in something like that. Its a lil to late for an electronic magazine.

  • cooool

    interesting

    i want one
