i had the same problum ....i was playing GTA 4 and i got Green lines going down the screen i tried my other games and got the same thing after a few minutes i got the e74 error :D

i got the same thing with the error code and screen but my screen went more than 1 color like red blue green yellow white ...yea and to fix error code E 74 you just need to remove your hard drive and put it back on... doesn't fix the screen though

I just got a HD tv and bought the component hd av cable. It's from the "pelican" company or what ever that brand name is. Anyway my screen keeps getting dashed lines through it going across the screen. I'm going to return the cable and get a michrosoft one. I hope that'll fix it. Iether that or I need to get a converter to use a hdmi cable. I have a core system that I bought from a friend by the way. Comment me back if this'll work. Although I will have already bought the MS brand cable.

I have been getting this error, I am going to go buy the stuff tomorrow to do the xclamp fix and see if it helps. As of now I have my xbox completely open with the motherboard and stuff exposed to keep it as cool as possible and it seems to stave off the GPU errors.

Micro$oft really proved they don't care one bit about their consumer base...it's frustrating I have to go through so much to enjoy my xbox 360. Oh well, we'll see if the xclamp fix can avoid my fast approaching rrod.

All the overheating issues should have been fixed before it was released. just a stupid decision on Microsofts part. And the fucking games scratch if the box is tilted when its on. I'm talking about 360 "Defaults" you don't need to mess about, just cuz a game is 1080p doesn't make it a good game.. good story and gameplay make it a good game which PS3 has very little of, and most exclusives have 1080p anyway, it depends on your TV/Monitor. and this isn't about a PC.. i have a top line custom PC as well.. big deal.

360 has much better exclusive games, comparable graphics, and much better online play than PS3, more customization, and better entertainment center capabilities "via Media Center PC connectivity." The only thing that PS3 really has up on 360 is the Blu Ray disc reader which isn't really enough to sway loyal consumers. Not all 360's are like that, mine has worked perfectly for the 2 years i've had it.

It happened to me. I just sent it for repair. It was in warranty so they actually ended up replacing the whole console. The process takes around two to three weeks. Sign in your account and then register the xbox, you have to make a couple of calls, but I guess its worth it after a while. Piece of shit, they gave me a free 1 month subscription to xbox live for the hassle.

E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.
